"Affordable but out of central London"
The hotel is next to the subway. A three minute walk to the station, but a 30 minute ride to central London. Beaware, there is no lift at the station. This can be an issue for those individuals that have more than one bag. Hotel staff are geneally very helpful, but are hindered by not having access to towels and other supplies at night. When I first arrived my check in was done quickly, however we found out that there were only two places to eat that were right there. I felt this was not the best arrangements that I could have made and only made me wish that I would have made my hotel arrangements closer to the downtown area to where I would have had more choices, however I know now […] the next time to pick with in the city and not think about being in a quieter area, lol. "Handy budget hotel"
This hotel is very convenient for the Central Line being literally next to the North Acton tube station. It takes about 20 mins to the centre of London. There is a good Tesco Express across the road. There is also a pubserving meals just a minute away. Because of this it is worth considering when visiting London. It is a fair bit cheaper than most of […] the more central hotels. It is well managed, and obviously a reasonably popular hotel. The free breakfast is nice enough - if you like scrambled eggs and sausage. There is fresh fruit, toast, and cereals as well. And a free newspapaer. It is however obvious that it is a budget hotel. The rooms have no proper wardrobes, a sort of wardrobe without doors. They are very clean though. Our room was literally over North Acton tube station. Nice if you like trains. The double-glazed windows have an extra addition- making it triple. The noise isn't too bad. Booked this hotel when going to see Take That at Wembely, as advertised as being very close. Was not that close at all, and not good enough areas for three girls to walk through. However, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, especially the chap who gave us a transport plan to get to the concert. The hotel is fine, you get exactly what it says on the tin. The rooms were very nice, clean and modern and well sound-proofed. However the parking is a nightmare. You can pay for a space if you get there early enough, but if you then need to go out again in the evening you simply lose your space. The hotel say they can't hold onto spaces. They obviously […] can if they choose, but they choose not to. There was a fair amount of shrugging of shoulders and "what can I do" attitude. They were perfectly pleasant and friendly but intractable. The breakfast was pretty poor, cereal in a dispenser that you wound up and it ground up the cereal as it passed through it, long life cakes and pastries and a bit of poor quality fruit salad and yoghurt. There was some "kept warm" hot breakfast that I avoided. "Zimmer für 3 Erwachsene nicht geeignet"
Wir (2 Erwachsene und 1 Jugendliche) hatten dieses Hotel aufgrund der guten Bewertung für unseren Städtetrip gebucht. Für 3 Erwachsene ist die Zimmergröße nicht geeignet. Das aufklappbare Sofa ist für das Knochengerüst (auch einer Jugendlichen) eine Zumutung und das andere Bett in der Breite für 2 Erwachsene viel zu schmal. Da es ja Standard ist, nur […] eine Zudecke im Bett zu haben, wir aber gewohnt sind, jeder mit einer Zudecke zu schlafen, bekamen wir auf Nachfrage eine 2. Bettdecke, allerdings ohne Bezug. So nicht. Der Teppich im Zimmer hatte schon bessere Zeiten hinter sich, war ziemlich dreckig. Im Zimmer konnte man sich, da das Sofa aufgeklappt war, kaum bewegen. Frühstück gibt es in der Hotellobby. Wenig Platz für das Buffet, so dass man lange anstehen muss, um das überauschaubare Frühstück auszuwählen. Rühreier, Würstchen und Bohnen bekommen mit Sicherheit nicht den Michelin-Stern, ansonsten nur Toast, Croissants und Brötchen. Marmelade und Butter. Müsli, Cornflakes. Kaffee naja - ist aber alles subjektiv bewertet, jeder hat ja einen anderen Geschmack. Komfort und Frühstück entsprechen in keinster Weise dem bezahlten Preis, empfinde ich als überteuert. "gut geeignete für Kurztrips nach London"
Das Hotel liegt zwar nicht in Zentral-London, aber die U-Bahn-Station ist direkt hinter dem Hotel, so daß alle touristischen Ziele rasch erreicht werden können (enger U-Bahn-Takt; zwei Tarifzonen bis zur Innenstadt). Unser Zimmer war sauber und prinzipiell gut ausgestattet (z.B. Digital-TV mit großer Senderauswahl); vermißt haben wir aber eine Minibar. […] Bei geschlossenem Fenster hört man die vorbeifahrenden/haltenden Züge kaum; im Sommer bei geöffnetem Fenster mag sich das aber auch anders darstellen. Das Hotel verfügt - entgegen der derzeitigen Beschreibung auch auf der Holiday-Inn-Homepage - nicht über ein eigenes Restaurant. Wenn man spät ankommt und noch Hunger hat, organisiert das freundliche Personal an der Rezeption aber etwas von drei Lieferdiensten (Pizza, Indisch, Chinesisch). (Allerdings mußten wir recht lange auf die Lieferung warten...) Das Frühstücksbuffet ist vom Umfang her eher übersichtlich gehalten. Neben zwei Toast-Sorten und kleinen Brötchen gab es an Backwerk nur Croissants (OK) und Schokobrötchen (nicht ganz so doll); daneben wurden für Fans herzhaften Frühstückens "baked beans", (Fertig-)Rührei und Würstchen bereitgehalten. Es gab auch Müsli/Cornflakes, diverse Joghurts und ein bißchen frisches Obst. An Getränken gibt es diverse Kaffeesorten, heiße Schokolade (jeweils aus dem Automaten) und Tees, außerdem Apfel- und O-Saft (jeweils vor Ort im Automaten aus Konzentrat zubereitet). Das Hotel liegt, wie oben gesagt, recht verkehrsgünstig, wenn man in die Londoner Innenstadt möchte. Will man aber bspw. von Heathrow zum Hotel, ist bei ÖPNV-Benutzung Umsteigen angesagt. Wir hatten uns bei der Anreise daher entschieden (auch angesichts der Uhrzeit), ein Taxi zu nehmen. Wer auf dieselbe Idee kommt, sollte sich aber bei der Buchung des Hotels bewußt sein, daß das kein günstiger Spaß ist! "Express London Park Royal - För nära tågstationen"
Hotellet är beläget i västra delen av London ca 20-25 min med tunnelbana från centrum. När vi anlände uppskattade vi hur nära hotellet låg till stationen North Ancton. Tyvärr visade det sig vara ett problem på kvällarna. Det går tåg var tredje minut och hotellet är dåligt ljudisolerat vilket gjorde att man stördes av de ständiga tågen. Nu hade vi rum […] mot tågstationen och kanske att man inte störs lika mycket i rummen på andra sidan av hotellet? Själva hotellet var ok, inget speciellt men rent och prydligt. Vi betalade extra för frukost, 10 pund/pers och det rekommenderar vi inte. Frukosten var rent dålig med svensk hotellstandard som jämförelse och de hade inte ens ost och pålägg till mackorna, endast marmelad. Hotellet är beläget i North Ancton i ett område som är kombinerat bostads- och industriområde. Det är trafikerat men tunnelbanans centrala linje vilket gör det smidigt att ta sig till shoppingområdena i London utan tågbyte. Det finns en trevlig brittisk pub i närheten med enklare men god mat och givetvis bra öl. Utöver det erbjuder området inte mycket att se utan det blir mycket tågåkande in till stan istället. Det vi var mest negativa till var ljudet från tågen (slutar dock gå vid midnatt) samt den dåliga frukosten. I övrigt var det helt ok för priset och personalen upplevde vi som hjälpsam. "Hotel an der Nahverkehsgrenze zwischen Zone 2 und Zone 3"
Das Hotel haben wir ab Airport Heathrow über die Umsteigestationen Acton Town und Ealing Broadway bequem erreicht. Die Lage am U-Bahnhof ist günstig, da ziemlich oft die Züge aus bzw. in die City fahren. Überrascht waren wir beim Check-in von der Aufforderung eine Kaution über 30 Pfund oder 30 € zu hinterlegen. Als Erklärung wofür dies notwendig ist […] wurde mit dem Hinweis abgetan, wir bekommen das Geld wieder beim Check-out zurück. Das Frühstück war ausreichend ist aber keiner besonderen Erwähnung wert. Im der Straßenseite zugewandten Zimmer war der Ausblick aus dem Fenster wegen einem Stoffvorhang (wahrscheinlich wegen der gegenüberliegenden Baustelle für ein 10 stöckiges Haus oder wegen unangenehmer Sonneneinstrahlung am Nachmittag), nicht ohne weiteres möglich. Das bei Goggle-earth zu sehende Gebäude gibt es nicht mehr. Der Fernseh- u. Nachrichtenempfang war nur für die der engl. Sprache mächtigen Gäste ausgelegt. Die Umgebung des Hotels ist weniger interessant. In der Gaststätte gegenüber dem Tesco-Laden haben wir eine gute Pizza gegessen. Der Pub ist auch keiner besonderen Erwähnung wert. El lobby del hotel es agradable. La atención es formal pero adecuada. La habitación es cómoda, si bien el baño y la ducha son de tamaño reduciido. El desayuno es bueno. No hay nada de interés en los alrededores, pero tiene un supermercado y una cafetería muy cerca. La estación de metro está pegada al hotel, pero toma 25 minutos llegar al centro de Londres. Ett medelhotell som trots ett ganska lågt pris ändå kändes fräscht och modernt. Läget en bit utanför de centrala delarna av London men tunnelbanan (central line) gick fort in då stationen ligger precis bakom hotellet. Ett minus var att det inte gick och ordna en extra madrass i bäddsoffan som var hård med en kant i ryggslutet. Frukosten kunde även […] den varit bättre med framförallt lite mer pålägg att välja på.
