The hotel is very well situated just off Regent Street several blocks north of Oxford Circus. The staff were cheerful and considerate. All rooms are on high floors, thus quieter, with reliable lifts and lovely views of the city from the side we were on. This hotel is in many ways typical of London accommodation - rooms are fairly small, furnishings are a bit dated and amenities limited. There is only a very small reception lobby on the ground floor. The Hotel was in a brillant location for high street shopping & underground, just minutes walk to Oxford Circus. Staff were very friendly, helpful & checked us in early. I was staying for three nights on business. Based on previous reviews I decided to upgrade my room to superior when booking. The room was pleasantly large for a London hotel and magnificant views of London (14th floor). On the morning of checking out I asked at reception if I could leave my case until later in the afternoon. They gave me a raffle ticket […] number and said they would be happy to. When I collected my case I asked the guy on reception if have could order me a taxi to Euston station. He told me to take a seat. He then went outside (in heavy rain wearing only a suit) flagged me down a black cab and brought it to the reception. I have to say Iwas extremely grateful for this and was very impressed. The main bedroom was very nice but the bathroom was freezing (no heating, no double or secondary glazing) which was disappointing for a 4* hotel. Ended up having to put towels on the floor as it was so cold. I also think I was unlucky getting a room next to the service lift which was very noisy and was constantly on the go from about 5.30am! We spent 4 nights on the 14th floor and overall it was quite pleasant. Our colleague who registered for one night was on the 11th floor -- what a dark, dismal room that was! Det värsta jag vet är att frysa och det gjorde jag på detta hotell. De hade satt in ett extra elektriskt element mitt i rummet men det gjorde inte mycket nytta. Det fanns en termostat men värmen fungerade när den ville, oftast inte alls. Det var först den sista kvällen som jag fick det varmt och skönt på rummet. Rummen är slitna och i behov av renovering […] men rena och ovanligt stora för att vara i London. Läget är utmärkt och utsikten makalös, framför allt från restaurangen på 17:e våningen men även från rummen. Frukosten är OK, basic continental. The check-in time begins at 2 pm,but my room was already available when I arrived at 10 am.The staff was friendly. The room was clean with hairdryer and ironing equipment.
