Good value for the money. The location is great - near Queensway in Bayswater, (the only drawback is that the Bayswater tube station is on the Circle and District lines, which can be a little slow). Desk personnel were helpful, and the room was clean and functional. It is small (I had a standard double), as London hotel rooms are, and the "desk" is […] not wide enough to hold a laptop. There is no chair, just a bench. One personal peeve - the bathroom door shuts automatically, so I moved the bench in front of it when I was going in and out. The only real problem was noise from the hallway, especially on the night that I had a room right by the elevator. If you get a room overlooking the square, the view is very nice. To the other side, it overlooks the back of the shopping center around the corner. The TV was fine and wifi worked perfectly. I have to say that London House Hotel is definitely a decent place to stay in, if you're visiting London for a week or so. I can't say that the hotel is not convenient overall, it is indeed a nice place to stay in given the price you pay per night! I was disappointed in this hotel for a couple of key reasons: First, I paid extra for a "Garden View" room vs. basement room. However, every night between 11 pm and midnight, apparently, trucks come to change the linens and unload supplies. The noise went on for 45 minutes. Called the front desk and they said "sorry, we do get lots of complaints about […] this, but nothing we can do...." Didn't offer to move my room, or anything else. Second, there was a lot of noise from the hallway and other adjacent rooms. The insulation isn't good and you hear everything. Thirdly, the windows were very leaky with visible gaps to the outside! Very cold on this late November night. Also contributed to the noise. Finally, the front desk people, while very nice - did not offer to do anything other than refer me to the manager of the hotel who would be coming later the next day after I returned to the USA. While the Lobby looks great in pictures as it was recently remodeled - the rooms and hallways of the hotel leave much to be desired. Not the worst, but not more than a 2 star at best. Read more

The location is excellent - close to two tube stations and near shops and restaurants, but in a very quiet location. I had a garden view room on the second floor, which was lovely. For the price, I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

Double room was small but not too cramped if you don't have large size luggage or several pieces of luggage. The bed was comfortable. This is a nice hotel, and conveniently placed for central London, though a bit of a walk to Paddington Station. Free wifi is a plus, and staff are friendly and helpful. The downside is our bathroom was tiny, and the hotel was not cheap. Overall a better experience than general for London hotels.

We complained and they offered another room which was a lot smaller. Manager came and spoke to us and assured us that noise would get better. We arrived when everyone was checking in. There are LOTS of hotels in London. I would find another. Upon arrival the staff is very cold and unfriendly. When asking questions or asking for help with things regardig the sights - directions or about hotel facilities and laundry - I felt like I was interrupting and never got more than the least amount of information until I pushed for more. The […] hotel facility is bare - cold - the rooms are more like a dorm room. The mattresses are cheap and uncomfortable and shower heads are horrible. The doors are impossible to close without making a loud bang so it isn't pleasant when the neighbors come home at 3am. We were there during the Olympics (as other guests were as well) the only indication of our paying 3x the normal rate was a gift of 2 bottles or water and a Xerox copy sign that welcomed us. (the water was left only the first day of our 6 night stay) as well as one bar of soap. The air conditioning does not go below 19c but there is no way it ever got to that and was very hot in the room all night. With all the other options out there I would seek another hotel. Read more

The room seemed well kept, clean, and well equipped. They are obviously renovating some common areas which were already looking pretty good. The Location was great as it's a 5 minute or so walk to two different Underground Stations, and there is ample everyday shopping near by. (Note: every day, not like boutiques.) There were also a few good breakfast […] places on the main strip, so I did not try the hotel food. (2/3 breakfasts were great, I'd recommend staying AWAY from Waffle Palace though.) The Room I was in was small, but I expected that in London. If you're visiting as a Tourist how much awake time do you expect to be in your room anyway? And for the price that made it reasonable, it's not like we're going 5 star wallet buster here. I will warn though, The bathroom is tight enough that if you are Significantly Overweight it might become a problem. I used to Be Fat, and I know I would have had issues if I still were, but "Average" size folks or smaller should be Fine. 3/4 of the Front Desk staff that I made contact with were polite and effective at their work. Maybe not overly happy, but MOST of them I did not feel put off by. The Wi-Fi is a little bit finicky though, as some other reviews have noted. Some times it worked great, other times it was a pain even though I had it connected correctly. This is my 2nd time staying here. The other time was 11/11. I am impressed with the renovations and my room 7/12 was nicer than I expected. I was in London for a seminar. The staff were extremely helpful, attended to my needs immediately, and answered all my questions. The AC worked fine. I had a window that I could open if I chose. The desk was adequate […] for reading, writing, and using a small laptop. There were plenty of electrical outlets. I didn't use the TV. The tiny refrigerator wasn't cool enough when I got there, but I mentioned this to staff and they were able to adjust it properly. The dining room downstairs has a microwave, always available. WiFi is free in the lounge 24/7 and I had no trouble getting it to stay connected. Because I was mildly inconvenienced by construction in the hall, the staff gave me WiFi in my room for free, which they normally charge for. I have heard nightmare stories about other inexpensive hotels in London, but this one had none of these problems. The hotel is convenient to two Tube stops on Queensway and lots of shops. It seems to be a safe area. I could walk out on Queensway at 11:30 at night and the place was buzzing as if it were afternoon. Even shoe stores were open that late. Although I didn't go there, Whitely Shopping Mall is a block away, a group of nice stores and bars. The hotel is very quiet at night. During the day, I heard some alarms go off in the neighborhood, footsteps in the hall, but never any shouting or rowdiness. Read more
