A major international flight hub, Heathrow's four terminals are connected to central London by train and Underground services. The Heathrow Express speeds into Paddington Station in 15 minutes. "Avoid at all costs"
I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and I had a very early flight out. I didn't expect much from an airport hotel but I was still extremely disappointed. They charged a fee for their wireless internet and offered a computer in the entry area with a generous 15 minutes of free use. With the dial up connection they have it takes the […] whole 15 minutes to bring up Google. The hallways reeked of mold and the rooms were extremely cramped. They didn't appear to have been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was so nasty I refused to shower. In spite of the fact that the hotel was less than a mile from the airport it took about 20 minutes to get there with the bus. Bus fare was pretty expensive. "Very convenient to Heathrow"
We arrived after 9pm and left by 5am. It was very close to Heathrow airport. There is bus transportation called the Hoppa. It is 4 pounds each way or 7 return. Under 15 years or yonuger go free. The bus service started at 5am and it only took about 10 - 15 mins tops. It picks up right outside the airport and right to the hotel, so no real walking involved. […] It goes to a number of hotels but is very easy. The Hotel was clean, the room is small compared to US rooms. It did have coffee / tea in the room. There was no hair dryer. With all Ibis Hotels, you get what you pay for and usually that is not very much. We got this room at a very good price, but at the cost of almost paper thin towels and pillows. The service in the bar area was almost laughable - a tumbler of milk (each) with our pot of tea but no sugar. Fine if you're staying 1 night to catch a plane the next day but don't expect any service. For example, we wanted to eat in their restaurant (because the surrounding area was awful and it would have been more convenient) but the restaurant opened late (and only after we'd asked them to) and an hour afterwards we still hadn't been served.
