Presented itself as a 4 star hotel on the outside and lobby but when you got to your room, it was a 2 star hotel at best. I had to call the supervisor to ask if the room was a joke and demanded to be upgraded to the next best room as the room they gave me never showed up in any pictures from the web site. I felt like I had "stupid tourist" stamped on […] my head with an invitation to this hotel to take advantage of me. I felt my hotel room reflectected a cheap tourist hotel. "Disappointed - NOT 4 stars"
Have been to London many times and stayed at different hotels in The City. This one was the worst. Spent one week here at end of May 2012. I wasn't expecting the room to be as small as it was. Not enough electrical outlets. Convertible sofa was pulled out most nights but we had to close it up in order to use ironing board with the one available outlet. […] Housekeeping did not replace plastic cups and/or glassware daily. No chest of drawers. Just a shelving unit to hold fridge, safe, etc. with cubby holes and no drawers. Lived out of our suitcases for the week. Toilet in separate "room" from sink and shower (more like a closet). Had to turn sideways to get in; very tiny. Nice shower but shower doors did not prevent water from going everywhere and soaking the floor. Close to Tower Hill tube station but everything pretty much closes down in The City during the week. Not close to much for dining, drinking or groceries. Not even tempted to bring back a "take away" to eat in the room; too claustrophobic. be aware when booking this hotel that there is major renovation work happening- this is something we were not told about despite having contacted the hotel directly prior to our stay. Room wasn,t ready... We were only staying for 48 hours and were hardly in the room but housekeeping let themselves into the room 3 times in the times we were in!!
