"A fantastic value in London"
Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. The only thing I would change is the shower door. It was very hard to move and never closed quite completely so there was some splashing. Access to the Tube, museums, a Waitrose grocery, and parks was excellent. Staff members were helpful; the internet connection was always robust; and the continental breakfast was good, varied, and ample. Having a paper at the door each morning was a plus as were the Gilchrist & Soames bath products. Location to tube was excellent. Giant Hilton across the street with blaring green sign was an eye-sore. I got one of the largest rooms which was very clean and nice overall, but the bed was pretty hard and their carpet choice appears to be dated even though I don't think it's old (it's kind of a shag/long style). Staff were very accommodating and helpful as I couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower or which direction was "on" for the switches/outlets (some switches are on when pushed up and others you push down instead, so there is no rhyme or reason). A very nice hotel in a great area. Two blocks to the Gloster Rd subway. Close to restaurants and shops. Airconditioned room are nicely appointed. Different sized rooms depending on availability. Litt enkel frokost, og et minus for toaster som ikke virker ordentlig. Det største minuset ved oppholdet denne gangen var at heisen sluttet å virke, og at dette ikke ble fikset i løpet av de tre nettene vi var der. Wir übernachteten 6 Nächte im Hotel Ashburn. Das Hotel selber ist sehr schön, liegt aber leider an die Ecke zu Cromwell Street. Entweder hat man das Fenster geschlossen, und es ist zu heiss, oder man öffnet das Fenster und hat 24 Stunden Verkehrslärm. Die Lage ist ansonsten sehr gut, da nur 3 Minuten zu Fuss bis zur Ubahn Gloucester Road (Piccadilly, […] Circle und District Line). In unmittelbare Nähe hat es gute Restaurants, u.a. "The Green Door", ein ausgezeichnetes Steakhouse. Das Zimmer war ziemlich klein, und wir hatten fast zu wenig Platz für 2 Koffer.Im Badezimmer war zu wenig Abstellfläche und die Schubladen waren defekt.Der Teppich im Zimmer ekelte uns.Das Frühstückszimmer ist recht klein und ab 8.30 Uhr haben oft nicht alle Gäste Platz, die frühstücken wollen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Der Aufenthalt war zweckmässig, aber wir empfanden die Preis/Leistungsverhältnis als nicht gegeben. Das Hotel ist recht teuer (sogar für London), und man dürfte mehr Komfort erwarten.Wir waren nun zum 2. Mal im Ashburn. Das nächste Mal suchen wir ein ruhigeres Hotel. "Lugnt läge men nära till tunnelbana"
Hotellet ligger i ett lugnt läge med ca 3 minuter gångväg till Gloucester Rd´s tunnelbana. Därifrån går 3 olika linjer som gör att man smidigt kan ta sig till flera "turistområden". Piccadilly, Covent Garden och Soho via Piccadilly-linjen och Victoria, Westminster och Embankment via Circle- och District-line. Vi råkade få en rum med tråkig utsikt mot […] kortsidan av huset intill. Cromwell Road som ligger runt hörnet är en stor infartsled in till London men vi uppfattade inget stöörande oljud. Det kan berott på vårt rums läge. I övrigt rent och snyggt och vi fick lite champagne på ankomstkvällen. Hade dock räknat med minibar på rummet, men detta kanske inte är normalt på 4-stjärniga hotell i London. Tillgång till kylskåp fanns som tur var. WIr waren sowohl mit der Lage nahe Regent Gardens sehr zufrieden, als auch mit der Sauberkeit und dem Komfort des Hotels. Das Frühstück war ein gutes Continentalbuffet, nicht sehr gross, aber gute Auswahl. Das Personal war besonders freundlich, hatten das Problem, dass einer von uns krank wurde und wir vor dem Abflug nicht rechtzeitig aus dem Zimmer […] konnten.
