"Excellent Place to Stay!"
Best boutique hotel I've ever stayed at. Quality amenities in the room, excellent breakfast included, great concierge service, and friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel very close to Central London"
Excellent non-chain hotel close to Central London. Just a block away from some of the very best (and free!) museums (Natural History and V&A). Less than 5 minute walk from the Tube station (Gloucester road station). You can save a bunch on airport transportation by taking the Piccadilly line from Heathrow (all terminals). Room was quite nice - they […] gave us a free upgrade to a superior deluxe room which was bigger. Room amenities were about right for the price - nothing too fancy but nothing too shabby either. Their daily breakfast buffet was pretty decent. Love the English tea. Overall, highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to Central London and want a lovely "English" experience :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had a wonderful time in London and staying at the Ashburn. Hotel was very quaint and staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but worked for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful, close to everything and wonderful staff"
My daughter was on her study abroad and I came for a mid summer visit. I knew she would be tired of dorm life and wanted to book some place "special". It was perfect. Great rooms. Spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast. White linen tablecloths. PerfectGenuine Expedia guest review
"NO AIR CONDITIONING, HENCE LOW SCORE"
We arrived and had been given a room at the rear 'with air con', but we opted for a front facing room with broken air con, but with portable air con unit. This was good until the traffic noise kept us awake. It was to be fixed the next day. This didn't happen, and floors 2 and 3 remained 'very warm'. The air con unit leaked onto the carpet, which we […] told the staff about, but to no avail. It was like Fawlty towers with the staff sometimes, but they were efficient and polite to guests. The hotel is in a great position, even got to see the royals going to visit the new arrival. In all, the hotel was very pleasant and the continental breakfast was very very nice, better than the cooked breakfast. Due to the air con break down, all those guests received free drinks in the bar, very nice touch. Thank you Ashburn hotel. Nearest tube, Gloucester Road, 100 yards away. "Love the Ashburn"
Our third stay at the Ashburn and we will keep coming back. The location is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Ashburn Hotel is in a very good location to the tubes, restaurants and local shopping. We arrived later in the night and we were put in a hotel room without functioning air conditioning--did I read about Room 202 before I booked this post? Any way next day we were moved to another room with air conditioning and a larger room (upgraded)..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely small British Hotel."
Our room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed. The shower was great as were the thick towels. The complementary glass of champagne was a nice touch.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel. Close to all the sites. Room sizes vary widely so be cautious. Our room was very small. Clean and fairly typical of this type of hotel. Staff was helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pros and Cons"
The hotel has some nice aspects, and some that are not great. The room we stayed in was in the basement, and in the hall way, there was a slight odor of mold/mildew -- but our room was fine. The room had an air conditioning unit that was VERY loud and ran continuously, perhaps to prevent mold. The carpeting/tile was kind of odd, but the room decore […] was great. The rates were decent, and all in all it was okay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"near to all tube lines for optimum travel"
The hotel desk receptionist on duty during our entire stay, Timea, was GREAT. Also the concierge, Steve, was very helpful. Would return there without doubt. Good value in a very nice B&B hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here for three nights (5/30-6/2/2013). Hotel is very convenient to Underground. The staff were all very helpful.......the reception was flawless with Expedia reservations. The concierge recommended excellent restaurants in the area and aided with tour bookings and taxi rides to airport. The evening champagne in the drawing room was charming and […] the bartender was always willing to try to accomodate other drink requests. The rooms are well appointed with upscale soaps, shampoos, etc. The breakfast buffet is held in a lovely room downstairs and the waitstaff were always cheerful and efficient. The neighborhood is upscale and safe with variety of eating establishments and grocery store nearby. The young woman at reception went above the call to assist with boarding passes for us even going to an adjoining property to print what I needed. Internet is free to all guests as well which is a bonus. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A very comfortable hotel in a great location"
Just a short distance from Gloucester Road underground station and the Piccadilly line with direct connections to St. Pancras station (for Eurostar) and Heathrow airport, this hotel is in a great location. It has a very pleasant interior and helpful staff. There are good restaurants in the area. The continental breakfast was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in Kensington"

"Quality Boutique Hotel in Kensington"
This is a enjoyable boutique hotel (38 rooms) in a fine location which feels almost like a home away from home. We had a spacious corner room on the top floor (6th) with a good view of the V&A in the distance. And it was one block from the tube and walking distance to Herrods.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Close to the Underground and shops. Only real improvement needed is new carpeting.Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms were small, but nice. My daughter and I had asked for 2 twin beds away from the elevator which we received. The climate controls worked well. The beds were a little hard for us, but that was a personal preference. Our view was wonderful. We arrived at 9 AM and the staff was glad to store our luggage and had it delivered to the room when it […] was ready so we could begin our vacation. Since we booked early, we received a complimentary breakfast daily. It was very good. We had many tourist type questions which were answered on a daily basis by the concierge. He gave us directions for tube stations, rail stations, and tourist attractions. He was a blessing! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Charming small hotel in great location"
We stayed here on two separate occasions during a recent trip to London. The first time we had a fairly large room overlooking the street. On the second stay, we had a very small room - it was hard to find a place to put our things. Both rooms were pleasant and had many amenities. nice hotel for the money - Beds could be more comfortable but very clean and nice locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. You cannot beat its location both for access to Heathrow (tube station is 5 mins away) and the Knightsbridge area/rest of London. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. The staff are exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable. "Third Year in a Row at the Ashburn"
This was the 3rd year in a row I stayed at the Ashburn. This hotel is perfect for me. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and novelty shops all within easy walking distance. Knightsbridge (Harrod's!) We upgraded to the "king" room, which only implies that the room it's self is larger and has a bathtub. I understand that all beds are the same size, only room size differs with the descriptions; "queen" room is smaller and only has a shower. Breakfast offerings were delicious, served promptly and reasonably priced; staff was very helpful and friendly. […] The bar/lounge was a nice respite after a busy day. "plugs near a mirror!!!!!!"
Your service is second to none and we would stay again in a heartbeat! I just didn't get why you had no plugs for hairdryers near a mirror? "Great hotel with a great location"
We loved the Ashburn hotel. The room was surprisingly large (a twin room) and spotlessly clean. The amenities were as described, e.g. robes, slippers, breakfast, small refrigerator in the room, etc. The hotel was very close to the tube - about 1 1/2 blocks and we felt very safe walking around the area. Next to the tube were a grocery store, and a Boots […] pharmacy. We very much appreciated the services of the two concierges who were very helpful and the young lady who served as receptionist. "Really- this place was superb!"
I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a King size room. The view was of the city road and was really breathtaking for someone new to the city. I loved the setup of the room and though that the bathroom was great. I had lots of room. I was able to walk to the Underground system in about 5 minutes. There is a […] lovely grocery store nearby on the way to the Underground. The area is great. There are some restaurants, a souvenir shop with a post office, and a charity shop nearby with amazing finds (called Zara). The hotel's concierge was amazing. I was able to catch a show for half price while I was in town. I also though that the breakfast was amazingly good. One night I ordered a light meal off the room service menu. The food came quickly and was really tasty. I would love to stay here again next time. Really- this place was superb! Worth every penny (or pence ;) ) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A faux boutique hotel, beware!"
This hotel appears to be an upscale boutique hotel but it is anything but! We booked this hotel based on the the reviews written here and were very disappointed. While the rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathroom is done quite well, the mattress and bedding is more like a Hotel 1, Cheap and very uncomfortable. We asked at the receiption for a […] room with a better mattress and was told that this is the mattress that is in every room. The food was horrible. For a boutique hotel the food is on the level of a one star US hotel. The soup was, I believe, canned and the bread resembled that of spongy wonder bread. The morning continental breakfast consisted of packaged baked goods, wonder bread for toast and boxes of cereal. The carpeting in the hallway and in the stairwell was old and dirty. At the end of a long day of sight seeing this hotel is very cold and unfriendly and the bed will leave you in ruins! My recommendation is to save your money, go to a hotel that is a 2 star and you would get the same level of service or get a good recommendation for a real four star hotel. There did not appear to be many people staying at this establishment. When we left the gentleman who was checking us out never said I hoped you enjoyed your stay with us, or how did you enjoy your stay with us. He said you are paid up. No have a nice day or anything. Very unhappy people. Beware! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good Value, Elegant, Some Drawbacks"
This hotel is elegant and well maintained, with a friendly staff. It's very convenient to the Gloucester Road tube stop, and thus to most of London. Breakfast (included) is great. I had stayed at the Ashburn once before. This time, when I arrived I learned that there was a problem (a water leak or something) and they had to move me. "3* hotel with 4* pretensions"
I checked out this hotel pretty thoroughly, I thought, before booking as part of a package. The reviews were either 3* or 5*. I'd have to go with the 3*. The issues with temperature control in room 305 have not been fixed even after being reported on other sites several months ago. Ironically, this is apparently considered a better room since it faces […] the street and is larger by London standards. However, besides being uncomfortably hot even in the cool Spring weather, there a minor repairs that have been neglected - missing knobs on the bathroom cabinet, for example, and mold on the shower grout. It is also very noisy despite the double paned glass (more than expected big city noises). After being moved to room 103 which faces the back of another building, we were able to sleep comfortably since the ventilation worked. This room is more typical of London hotels & was cramped. the extra small table and stuffed arm chair made maneuvering around the bed difficult. You also have to open the door completely to enter the bathroom, and the toilet is behind the door. The shower however was clean, and the bathroom drawers had all their knobs. There was minimal closet space. Breakfast was typical continental and may get monotonous after 3 or 4 days. Front desk service wasn't particularly friendly, but was efficient. The fire alarm did go off early one morning due to burnt toast in the breakfast room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great London Hotel!"
I had a great stay at The Ashburn. Very close proximity to the Gloucester Road tube station. The hotel staff was responsive and helpful. The room was clean, spacious (by Europe standards), and they had great attention to detail, including toiletries. The breakfast was excellent and really helped me fill up for the day's adventures. I stayed in another […] hotel in Paris a few days later and the contrast was very apparent. I highly recommend The Ashburn and would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room is extremely clean and very comfortable. The hotel is extremely clean and location wise, it's a plus. However, you wouldn't want your room facing the main road.
