The ownership of this hotel must use this property as a cash cow as they appear to have put no money into the rooms - 1980s carpet-like wall paper, musty carpets, water stains on the wall, mattresses that feel second-hand (worn out, little support, curved). Hotels.com did relay my complaints about my room to management, who moved me the second day […] to a different room (which had a better mattress). "Room not serviced"
Bit out of the way for business but OK if you are a tourist for south Kensington Museums, Hyde Park, Harrods etc. Room wasn't serviced one of the three days I was there which wasn't great, but otherwise, hotel is fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great value for money in Kensington"
I had an excellent stay at the very recenently refurbished Rydges Kensington. My executive room was (by London standards) fairly big and the continental breakfast had a large selection and great coffee. The service was ok - a bit slow when asking for extra pillows etc, the wireless network horrible and the staff did nothing much to help out but I didn't […] have to pay for it when I complained afterwards. If you wish to live close to the Picadilly line towards Heathrow but still want to be close to the city and have nice surroundings I can really recommend this hotel! "Single room is made for a 3 year old child..."
...although hotel excellent in terms of cleanliness and overall, DO NOT book a single room. They stuffed me in a cabinet, probably smaller than the janitor closet where all his supplies are. Room and bathroom within it probably were about 8-9 sqr mts in total. Absurd. I went down to complain and managed to upgrade to executive king for a nominal charge […] per night and that was decent. "Handy location - lovely interiors"
I was in London attending a conference and the location of this hotel so close to Gloucester tube station was great for getting to and from the venue and Heathrow. Its about 15 minutes walk to Knightsbridge if u fancy a stroll or just 1 tube stop. Room was immaculate as was reception, bar and restaurant. "Poor staff and tiny rooms"
We stayed at this hotel as we were exhibiting at a conference nearby. We turned up with quite a lot of bags etc as we had our exhinibtion stuff. We emptied the car outside the hotel and was watched by both the receptionist and the consierge as we carried them into the hotel. We presumed that they would assist to get things to the room, I went to park […] the car and on my return was amazed to find my wife had to carry everything to the room on her own, the receptionist said the consierge had gone on his break! She then said she didn't think we would fit everything in our room -we thought she was joking. It was the smallest room we have ever been in with literally a small space around the bed and about 3 steps to the bathroom, it was stupid and should never be sold as a double room. On leaving we started to bring our bags down and asked for assistance, the consierge was present, amazingly he disappeared again, but reappeared 10 minutes later when we had carried them down. Et lite boutique-hotell ved Kensington som jeg gjerne kommer tilbake til. Flere gode puber or restauranter rett i nærheten, i tillegg til at du kan ta kollektivt nesten rett opp til døren. Hotellet er lite og intimt, rommene er individuelt designet og gir en moderne følelse til et sjarmerende rustikk bygg. En sjeldenhet i UK er dusj med trykk i, men […] det finner du her! En særdeles hjelpsom dørvakt er også parat til å guide deg. Eneste minus er at WiFi ikke er inkludert i romprisen, det eneste som hindrer topp karakter på samtlige avkrysninger. "Veldig små rom, litt støy fra gaten, bra service"
Jeg hadde et singelrom som var knøttlite. Kunne ikke åpne kofferten min helt pga av at det var så trangt (12kvm inkl bad). Gikk greit for meg, siden jeg er liten i str, men en stor voksen mann ville nok hatt litt problemer. Litt trafikkstøy fra gaten i løpet av natten, selv om mitt rom var i øverste etasje. Veldig hyggelige og servicemindede ansatte, […] som gjorde sitt ytterste for at mitt opphold skulle være bra. Nice hotel in great neighbourhood. Close to subway and easy walking distance to V&A. The service is not as good as the rest of the hotel. Internet is not for free, I had to pay 10 pounds for an electric adapter. But great room in great location.
