"Overpriced, but did the job"
Great location, clean room.... I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Europe, and this hotel room was SMALL even by European standards. The room was freezing cold when we arrived and didn't actually feel warm until the next morning even though the heater ran all night. We stayed two nights, and we asked for more towels on the second day and were met with […] reluctance, but other than that the staff was very helpful. Probably wouldn't stay again, as there are better, more inexpensive hotels in the same neighborhood (they were all unavailable on our travel days). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly staff"
I was super impressed with how friendly the hotel staff was especially guest registration. As an ignorant American I booked a Double Room expecting it to be 2 beds but in UK Double means double bed not two beds. Fortunately the nice staff changed it. Thank youGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Tube Station"
The room was small, but was very nice. We liked the small balcony off our room that looked out on the garden. It was really close to a tube station on the Piccadilly line, which is what we were aiming for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location"
The location was fantastic, the room extremely small (to be somewhat expected in Europe, but still small by European standards). The worst thing was their wifi which practically did not work most of the time. Also, VERY limited tv channels and no fridge in room... All in all an ok hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, Wonderful stay"
The Cromwell was perfectly situated to all the sights and sounds of London. Walking distance to the So. Kensington museums, and easy access to all of London thru the Gloucester Road tube stop, less than a block away. We had a huge family room at the front of the hotel, which was so well sound-proofed we couldn't hear a peep from the street. Would highly […] recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, small rooms"
The Cromwell is in a great loction near Hyde Park and very close to the underground. We really enjoyed our stay but for some reason I was expecting the rooms to be a little bigger. This was the last hotel we stayed at during our two week European vacation and it was one of the smaller rooms we stayed in. By they way...if you're there on Saturday or […] Sunday and want to get out the typical London scene go to the Portobello Market in Notting Hill. I traveled with my wife and three teenage daughters and they loved it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location, Friendly, Not sure about Value"
Staff at The Cromwell is unmistakably friendly and will go out of their way to greet, help, and service your needs. Staff kept soft drinks in their fridge for us. During my 5 nite stay, WIFI at hotel was useless, I heard other guests complain, it only worked in lobby and at speeds slower than a turtle. Room was clean, bathroom very clean, room was small […] but functional. The only minor complaint, occasionally you could hear hallway noise. At the time I booked the room, this hotel seemed to be a good value for the location. After check-in and encountering the WIFI issue, I looked for alternative local options and discovered better value. The walkup room rate at four star hotel next door, for 3 of 4 remaining nites was 28% cheaper than what I had pre-paid. All said and excluding WIFI, I left The Cromwell with a positive experience. Pro – Staff, location, clean room. Con – questionable value, hallway noise, don’t count on using WIFI Neighborhood is safe and clean, but I did witness and stop an attempted pick-pocket by a 10 year old boy. Location is great, a block from the Gloucester Road tube station and if you like to walk you are 1 mile to Harrods or Kensington Whole Foods, Kensington Palace, 2 miles to Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, <3 miles to Westminster Abbey/Big Ben or Charing Cross/Trafalgar Square, and 4.5 to St. Paul's. "Fantastic stay"
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! The room decor and cleanliness was top notch. The surrounding area is wonderful with tons of amenities. Our room was next to the elevator, but we didn't hear it at all! So quiet. Right next to the tube, and on the piccadilly line, so it's easy to get everywhere, including Heathrow airport! We are a family […] of three, so the "family room", was one double bed and a pull out leather sofa. My nine year old enjoyed the novelty of the sofa bed!! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. "Best Western - Cromwell; easy location"
Travelling with kids and appreciated the location (grocery across the street and on/off tour bus 2 blocks away). Heavy drapes to allow for sleeping in day light. Rooms were small, but we pretty much just slept there. Front desk held our bags before and after room availability which we appreciated. Metro 2 blocks away. Safe, clean, air conditioned room. "Nice hotel"
This is a very nice hotel for a tourist. Less than a block walk to the tube station and the bus stops right in front. Makes travel convenient. The hotel has the basics but is very, very small compared to American hotels. But overall I would gladly stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"London, June, 2011"
The only problem we encourtered was that our room # was 501 and the elevator only went to the 4th floor. You had to walk and carry luggage one floor. For most people that is okay, but some Senior Citizens, a problem. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel less than two blocks from the tube. Easy access to tourist locations. Neighborhood was clean and safe even late at night. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Only negative was size of room. Quite small by US standards.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location"
The Cromwell is in an ideal location to take the Underground to just about anywhere in London. The staff was pleasant and efficient. I was expecting a middle of the night call that I didn't get because the conscientious desk clerk wouldn't put it through, so tell them if you expect a call! The free wifi was the best I've ever had. Never had trouble […] connecting from my room. I'd definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and clean"
Great affordable hotel if you don't plan to spend a lot of time there. Clean room, courteous staff and right around the corner from the Gloucester Station. No restaurant, but a small "bar". "Excellent hotel"
This hotel is in a great location with easy access to a major busline and underground station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was recently remodeled. The only negative is the room was rather small for two people. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not meant for vacationers"
The hotel is probably fine for business people for a one night stay. We were staying two nights as part of a vacation. The room was not big enough for the two of us and had no place to put your clothes. This was the first Best Western that did not include the breakfast as part of the cost of the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location -- close to tube, bus lines, etc."
The room was quite small, but that was of no concern. It was clean and the staff was wonderful. A surprise was a deck overlooking a small park -- quite unexpected as we didn't see anything about it in the online booking. Only 4-6 rooms had the deck and yet the charge wasn't unduly spendy. We would stay there again, definitely.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
The room size was small, but I have come to expect this is in large cities. Proximity of the hotel to the Underground was fantastic, and the route spans central London to Heathrow. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a small patio with table and chairs backing onto a lovely garden. I would stay in this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location and nice staff"
First of all: The staff was great. Always helpful, answering questions and even opening doors for us at times (we had our baby daughter with us and thus her strolly). The location was also great. Just 50-100 meters from the Cloucester Road tube station, making it easy to get to the innermost parts of London. The Natural History Museum is just a few […] hundred meters to the East and the gigantic Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens a kilometer or so to the North. (We even walked to Harrods one day.) There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We can recommend the "Black & Blue" steak restaurant a bit down Gloucester Road. We had read a lot of reviews of this hotel before we made our reservation. I would like to comment on three of the things that seemed to come again and again: * Small rooms. I can say that our room was big. I mean, really big. A big bed, a sofa and two chairs, a desk... and still a lot of room for our girl to run around. Sure, we had the executive variant, but the hotel does have larger rooms if you want to pay for it. And our bathroom was really, really nice. Both a tub and a shower, with very high class on everything. * Noisy street. Yes, it was obvious that the Cromwell Road is a very busy street, and almost 24/7. We had a room facing that street and although the windows were highly insulated, they didn't manage to stop the low frequency rumblings. Not entirely anyway. I'm not surprised either, since bass sounds are very hard to stop. If you are sensitive to noises at night, I suggest you book a room that's facing inwards instead. * Breakfast. Since almost all reviews said that the breakfast was expensive and not worth the money, we always had our breakfast elsewhere. There's a Starbucks and a Waitrose (grocery store) practically across the street. But it smelled really nice from the breakfast room (hot toast, mmm!) when we went by, so we really should have tried the hotel breakfast at least once. I can recommend this hotel - and the next time i visit Lo Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to tube great location"
Had a great room, larger than I thought it would be. The position is perfect, great area and so close to gloucester rd tube. When you are tired and just want to get to your hotel it is literally across the road. Supermarket in tube complex, easily accessible as well. "Best Western The Cromwell Hotel London"
Very easy to find despite me not knowing London at all. Easy access to Gloucester Road Tube station (3-5 minute walk away). Excellent bus service outside the hotel. Fantastic location for Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum - all10 minutes walk and Cromwell Road shops including Harrods(catch no 74 bus outside hotel door). […] Supermarket within 5 minutes of the hotel and various restaurants. Room was compact and had everything required for our 1 night stay. Very nicely decorated and bed was extremely comfortable. I paid a very good price for 1 night . We had stayed before in another London hotel in a double room that was supposedly upgraded on our arrival for a superior room - I hate to think how bad the basic room was as the superior one was not good and this had cost me double what I paid at The Cromwell for the 1 night stay. The hotel is situated on a very busy main road and I had read some reviews saying that the road noise was quite bad in the hotels front rooms. I was slightly uneasy when we entered our room on arrival to realise it was on the front of the hotel but the road noise was very minimal despite it being extremely busy. In fact, on the morning we woke up I was awake for 7am and could not hear hardly any traffic and could not believe that we were actually in the middle of London as it was so quiet. Overall an excellent stay and we will be back again for the Museums as the location is so good.
