I have been to London many times and this was by far THE WORST experience ever. I was initially shown to a room with hair on the sheets, dried blood on a bathroom towel, fingerprints everywhere, and dirty walls. When I complained, I was shown to a new room with little apology; the staff seemed to think I was just being picky. Upon returning the next […] evening, when the outside air was -1 Celsius, I entered my room to find it at 8 degrees! When I reported the problem, I was asked if while I was away, I had left my extra room key in the slot just inside the door. I had not. I was told that someone should have informed me when I checked in to do so in order to have constant heat. When I pointed out that a system which requires a room key for lights (and in this case ALSO heat) in intended to conserve energy, and like most hotels guests take their key with them. I was met with a blank stare. So, at 2:00am, with no maintenance staff on call, I had to wait almost an hour to get the heat back on -- which is why they leave it on all the time. I asked the desk for a an herbal tea to warm me up; I was brought an unwrapped teabag in a bare hand and told to heat some water in my room. This hotel is poorly managed and, as an American, I assure you that it does NOT live up to the standard this U.S. franchise is known for. I urge anyone to consider other options... especially in winter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
very convenient to tube; very nice neighborhood; quiet if in the back; wifi not working in rooms, and ethernet provided was very short.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good business stop"
One block from Tube; walking distance to V&A museum as well as others. Clean room with firm bed. Exercise facility is small but ample. Found it to be a good hotel for business in and around the Chelsea neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and close to subway station"
New, updated rooms. Comfortable bed and píllows. Sheets super clean. A few things were a little dusty like the remote control and toiletry. Other than that the room was spotless, clean sheets and towls. The staff is nice. Super close to subwayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely suprise"
I really enjoyed this property. It was so close to the tube and it was Picadillly Line which is the line from Heathrow. It was only 2.70 to take tube to airport. Loved that feature. Staff was very friendly. I was very impressedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"BW Cromwell - great location, small but OK"
Great location, 1 block from tube station. Clean, nice room. Only drawback is small room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Western The Cromwell in London - Good bet."
It was certainly a small room, but not unusably so, and I only needed a place to shower and sleep. One block from the Gloucester Road tube station (Picadilly, District, and Circle lines), walking distance to the Natural History Museum, and a nice neighborhood overall. Bathroom was in good shape, the carpet could have used a cleaning, and there were […] a lot of scuff marks on the wall, I'm assuming due to suitcases being hauled around in tight quarters, but I've definitely stayed in worse. The price was right for the accomodations and location, I will be happy to stay there again and recommend it to my friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice but very compact"
The hotel was nice and the people were great, but beware of the compact size. My room was very small, which was not a problem on a short visit, but the bathroom was tiny and awkward. In particular, the only place to put anything in the bathroom was a shelf above the sink. When I tried to wash my face or brush my teeth, I found the shelf between my face […] and the faucet. And I had to shave in a shadow -- the only light was a small spotlight directly overhead. I wasn't enough of a contortionist to position my face where the light was shining. A little bathroom redesign would go a long way! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Do not stay at the Best Western Cromwell"
We had 3 rooms here and all of us had a terrible experience. The rooms were so small you could reach out and touch both walls. The bathroom was also extremely small. The shower was broken, the tv was broken, the toilet and sink made extremely loud noises, and you could hear every word from people in the hallway. The bed was horrible and you could feel […] the springs from the mattress. Strangely, there was no clock in the room. There was no elevator to the top floor. The managers were not friendly or accomodating. For the price, you could stay somewhere much nicer, especially in the same neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good basic hotel"
This was certainly not a luxury hotel, but it was clean, the staff were very friendly, it was conveniently located next to a Tube station, and generally, my stay was pleasant. I particularly enjoyed the free wifi. For its price, one would be hard-pressed to find better lodgings in London. I have absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay here […] again and recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best Western Cromwell Roadf"
For an overnight business stay it was good. The room was small, but I will take a nice comfy bed over a big room any day for one night. Staff very friendly, will stay here again if I need to be in the areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small rooms - not too comfortable"
I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The standard room are v small and there are no baths (I requested one but I think there are v few rooms with baths and this makes sense because of the tiny bathrooms). On this occassion my room was very cold, the heating did not work and even with an extra blanket on the bed I was chilly through the night. This […] is shame as the hotel is in a great location for my work, but I would not stay here again. In addition, there is only one lift which takes forever each morning when everyone is using it. On the plus side this hotel has free WiFi which is handy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great area- hotel rooms dated"
Great locale but hotel rooms now look dated, small and needs done up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location"
Right next to Gloucester tube station made getting around very convenient! Wifi was weak in the room so required a cable (provided by the front desk). Room service made the bed and changed towels only, which was fine. Really all you need but was frustrating to not get fresh mugs each day. Friendly staff, would stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very clean hotel"
Hotel room was small, but clever use of the space made it perfectly ok for one person overnight. Great location near to museums, shops, cafes and bars. Perfect position for transport links as 2 minutes from Gloucester Road tube station. Quiet as didnt hear any other guests. Staff friendly and hotel really clean. Would have been perfect except my room […] was ground floor and really cold. It was snowing but the heating just wasn't great and really noisey. Struggled to sleep with it on.The plumbing also meant that I could hear toilets being flushed and people showering in other rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent Hotel if you have business in the area"
My room was just fine, but very small - normal by London standard unless you go to a higher price category. Tiny desk and chair could barely fit. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, wifi worked and staff was friendly...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel Pity about the room size"
The Cromwell is a really nice hotel, very convenient to the tube, shops, post office and cafe's. The staff were a bit strange, there was not much welcoming warmth with the initial greeting. However the rooms were clean and well maintained. The room I had was very very small, like a broom cupboard. That is really the only downside to my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny room & very expensive"
Door hit the bed when I went into the room!! Worst room I've stayed in for quite a while.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Cromwell London, close to everything"
We stayed here just for one night on business and when we arrived it was at 10:00 am in the morning, check in wasn't until 2:00 pm but the receptionist was very helpful and booked us in, complete with our room. The area we knew and it was close to everything that we needed. The room was a little on the pokey side but as we were there only for one night […] it didn't matter. On checkout we left our luggage at the hotel because we had a late flight and the staff were fantastic, they kept our luggage until we went back at 6 to collect it. All in all, a great experience and will use this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cromwell Best Western in London"
The hotel has been refurbished but if you get a room in the basement, you are in for some trouble.. the staircase is too narrow and steep - not for the weary and "pain n the leg" traveller. good decor and new fittings. service is reasonable but at that price, its perhaps easy to get a suitably better hotel. It loses out in the value for money category […] - B'fast is expensive too! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Western - The Cromwell, London"
I had booked a double bed for one guest and the girl at hotel check-in tried to give me a single bed. When I insisted on a double room as I had paid, I was given a double room off the back corridor at ground floor level designed for handicapped guests. The heating in the room didn't work so I have to request reception to fix it. The technician came […] and said that he would provide a separate electric bar heater. I insisted that they fix the heating properly or that I was given another room - reluctantly they fixed it. The attitude of the service was appalling. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Western - The Cromwell"
I booked this hotel for 2 nights Friday and Saturday, mainly because of the location and ease of access to the tube and Central London. The room was a good size and well fitted out with TV and comfy bed etc. The only negative was that although the bathroom was nicely fitted, the sink was too low to wash your face in/have a shave and the shower was too […] high for the thin jets to be effective! Also, there was a nasty smell from the drains, which meant I was forced to buy some bleach to put down the toilet and keep the door shut at night and when not using. Overall, this room was fine for what I wanted, somewhere to drop my bags and sleep for the night, I would recommend if you are on a budget and it is close to Kensington - 10 mins walk to Harrods and all museuems nearby with loads of shops to choose from etc... "Best Western The Cromwell London, good location"
My room was clean but very small. Nevertheless it was well designed and the bathroom was particularly impressive with a large powerful shower. The reception area is small and functional. The best aspect of this hotel is it's proximity to the museums in Kensington (Victoria and Albert and natural History) and to the shops of Knightsbridge. The no 74 […] bus to Knightsbridge,Marble Arch and Oxford St stops right outside the hotel and Gloucester Roat tube station is across the road. Paul's patisserie is also over the road (good for breakfast). Hotel rates are quite expensive but probably average for this part of London.
