The location is great. You can walk to many tourist attractions. It is also very near the Green Park Underground which can get you to many spots throughout London easily. We loved staying at The Flemings. The location is perfect; in a quiet neighborhood and close to the tube. It's easy to get to from Heathrow if you use the Piccadily Line...and the fare is cheap. I have stayed at this hotel before. It can't be beat for its location in the heart of London, across Picadilly from Green Park, a short walk across the Park to Buckingham Palace and Westminster, in other directions to Picadilly and the theatre district, Hyde Park, and Mayfair. Down the block and around the corner is Shepherd Market, a little-known hidden […] courtyard entered through a arch, containing a number of excellent restaurants. The hotel staff was top-notch; everyone (even those on duty at night!) are polite, cheerful and helpful. The concierge service is very good at helping arrange tours, theatre tickets, and airport transfers. I do miss the more traditional decor in the restauarant and lounge, which have undergone serious glitzification since my last stay 3 years ago. But the rooms (and beds) arre comfortable and attractive. Only complaint: absence of dresser drawers in the rooms! I look forward to staying there again soon! Read more

I stayed at the Flemings for a week in the beginning of October and I would recommend the hotel to anyone. The staff was inviting and helpful from day one. Buying theater tickets, recommending restaurants, and giving directions were never to much to ask for. The room was quaint and clean daily. Best thing about hotel is location, just off Picadilly and across the park from the Palace. Also, the staff were consistently polite and accomodating. The only bad experience was on my first night while drifting off to sleep at 9:30, a hotel housekeeper used her pass key to enter my room without knocking or announcing her presence 'to see if anyone […] was there' she said. Ridiculous! The room was very small, definitely for one; with my large duffle and a small one plus a computer, there was barely enough room to move arond; nothing fancy just basic. Occassionally the only elevator would not work and a staff person would have to run upstairs to get it working again. Did not eat at hotel, very expensive; but so is everything in London! Flemings Hotel exceeded our expectations. My son and I missed our original flight and arrived in London 7 hours earlier than expected. I called the hotel to see if we could check in a little early or at least leave our bags there. They told me not to wait at the airport, they would check me as soon as I arrived. It has a funky little elevator decorated like a small library although it has rickety sounding stairs. You can get to anywhere easily from this location and may see celebrities nearby as I did, Gordon Ramsey and Victoria Beckham emerging from his new restaurant nearby on Park Lane. This was the second time we have stayed at the Flemings Mayfair - and we did so again this August because of their location - which is perfect! It is right next to the Green Park Underground, few blocks from Piccadilly & right next to Jermyn Street for shopping. Everything was fair - nothing great, nothing truly terrible. Unfortunately, their attitude turns sour when they notice you have booked through this website - this happened the last time also. The Flemings Mayfair Hotel was everything we expected and more. The hotel has been redone and it is beautiful. Th entire hotel is polished and immaculate. The staff is very friendly and eager to help.We were traveling with adult children and our rooms were across the hall from each other, ours was in the front. We loved looking out onto the street. […] The bathroom had a large walk in shower that worked fine for us. The room itself was comfortable, especially by European standards. The location can not be beat - we were literally within walking distance of so much - and if we couldn't walk, we used the tube, as the Green Park station was around the corner. There are numerous places to grab breakfast or a snack on Piccadilly St, and Shephard's Market which is around the corner the other way has a number of lovely restaurants and little cafes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A Great Hotel, with excellent friendly staff who couldn;t be more considerate or helpful. We happened to mention in passing on check in that it was our anniversary. On return to our room we found an anniversary gift and card on our bed! The main rooms are amazing - the front room restaurant and bar are pretty stunning - country house meets seventies […] psychedelia. The Library style lift was our favorite. Very clever use of lighting in the downstairs bar - and an excellent signature martini. The whoel feel is special boutique and sumptuous. Our room was a bit small, but you have to expect such things in an old building and it was nicely decorated. Only a few niggles. Our ensuite was small enough to be bordering on cramped, and must be due a make over. It looked like it had been installed in a rush, with sloppy paintwork and poor finishes. I am 6'2" and my head touched the ceiling when standing in the shower. To be fair this poor workmanship was not reflected anywhere else in the hotel which is a pleasure to behold. But complementary toiletries could be upgraded a little. Isn't Molton Brown rather more 4 star than 2 star Gilchrist & Soames? The TV was awkward to operate with no Digital program guide (or none that we could easily find) which meant it was very VERY clunky and awkward to browse Channels. Loved the complementary newspaper, tea, coffee etc didn't love the fact that you couldn't fully open the wardrobe door (it jammed against the door closing arm of the main door) Read more
