"Choose a renovated room on the 18th floor"
Our initial room was very small so we upgraded to a much larger, nicer room on the 18th floor with a million dollar view. The hotel staff and concierge are very friendly and helpful. "Fantastic Location"
The Lancaster London is in a great location right around the corner from the Lancaster Gate Underground station. It is also right across the street from Hyde Park and a 7 minute from Paddington Station. The room size was pretty decent (smaller than American hotel rooms, but "big" for European standards), but if you are traveling with large suitcases, […] it will be a bit crowded in the room. There's nowhere to really lay a large suitcase flat; it's either on the study table, luggage rack, or floor. Carry-on size suitcases will fit just fine and leave room for moving about in the room. There is free cable in the rooms with plenty of channels. Housekeeping comes to each room around 7pm-9pm for a turndown service, letting you pick and choose some extra cookies, teas, and coffee (which is a really nice extra). The staff was very friendly and the Thai restaurant on the first floor was very tasty. The beds were great and the blankets were super soft. My only wish on my wishlist is that they had some form of complimentary internet/wifi access. It's fine that the rooms don't have access (it's 17pounds/day), however, even the business center charges for internet usage. very nice view of Hyde park. Right on top of the Lancaster gate Metro stop so very easy to see London. room nice and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. "Lancaster London Hotel - Great Room, Location, Etc"
The Lancaster is overlooking Hyde Park and right on the Central underground rail line. It was little more expensive, but the location, clean comfortable room were worth it. We could get to any part of London via the underground which is just a short walk around the corner, and the hotel is just a couple of blocks (walking distance) to Paddington Station, […] the main rail line from Heathrow Airport. Couldn't have been any easier! Room was clean, with comfortable bed, mini bar and a nice view of Hyde Park. The week we were there featured concerts in the park... The Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart... an unexpected bonus! Hotel bar was expensive! But there are so many pubs and places to eat within a short walk or underground ride, that it really didn't matter. The Swan Pub is a block away. This was a nice hotel and was a great location. Our only complaint was that they charged 17 pounds per day for wifi!! I went to London for the weekend with my boyfriend. This hotel is amazing. There are buses just around the corner, and the view of london in the room was great. We booked on hotels.com & in the comments i added a nice room please as its our honeymoon. We got to the hotel & were meet by friendly staff. We were advised our room was upgraded & we obviously thanked them. It wasn't until we got to our room on 17th floor we realised it was a suite. The hotel itself is nice. Staff are very nice but they are not able to help to resolve issues. I booked hotel online and i requested captions on TV as I am hearing impaired and need access equipment. Hotel.com even confirmed with me that hotel will provide it. I was looking forward to it. When I arrived at hotel, they do not know what I am talking about. […] Later when we checked into room, we discovered bed is broken (hollow in the middle). We asked staff to check, and we were surprised with their response - the bed is brand new so they flipped it over. I asked them to replace it with different mattress, they said no. Needless to say, the bed continues to have hollow in the centre. The location is great - on Bayswater road, Zone 1 - right across the street from Hyde park, on top of an underground station, with easy access to bus services, and within walking distance of Oxford street, museums, etc. Staff were friendly and attentive. Room size was decent, although for the money it could have been a little bigger. The room was cleaned […] every day, towels and toiletries were replaced daily. Given the location, services offered and 4-star rating of the hotel, I would say that the high room prices are justified. Great location with tube stop just around the corner as well as several downtown headed buses. Just a walk across Hyde Park and you're in Knightsbridge. Very close to Notting Hill. Had a great stay. When we checked in I noticed they gave a city view n not apark view like I had booked so we were upgraded to a suit wiv apark view that was an amazin room! Hyde park is just over the road from hotel n oxford st is walkin distance. The only downside 4 me as they dont have astaircase as im not a lover of lifts so had to use staff stairs. The hotel is located in a superb spot, next to Lancaster Gate underground station and Hyde Park also within 5 minute walking distance to the Paddington station (where you can catch direct trains to the Heathrow airport and 4 other underground lines). The lobby had an exquisite design and the size of our room was rather large, compared to the other […] hotel we stayed nearby. On the down side, the price of the internet connection is quite high and the room could have been cleaner. The Hyde Park view option is not worth the extra money in my opinion. I can say Lancaster London has a great location its located next to Lancaster gate station and thats importent to get around London. But they have bad housekeeping and concierge . For the housekeeping they dont put enough shampoo although we were 2 persons , there is no brush at all , and no slippers for the bathroom untill we asked for them . Jeg har bodd her to ganger og har vært like fornøyd begge gangene. Hotellet ligger sentralt plassert med undergrunnstajonen på Central line rett rundt hjørnet. Det ligger i et rolig område rett ved Hyde park. Det er ikke veldig mange restauranter i nærheten, men de vi har prøvd i området var absolutt verdt et besøk. Hotellets restaurant Nipa var også […] et godt alternativ dersom man liker Thai-mat. Jeg anbefaler å betale det lille ekstra det koster å få rom over 8. Etasje, for utsikten derifra er helt fantastisk! Servicen er kjempebra, selv om ansatte snakker litt dårlig engelsk. Vi bestilte et standard dobbeltrom, men fikk tilbud om å oppgradere rommet til et superiorrom med utsikt mot parken i 14. Etasje mot 120,- kr. Pr natt og det var det verdt. Rommene er ikke kjempestore, men bra etter engelsk standard. Sengen var litt hard og vi fikk en dobbeltdyne i dobbeltseng, som var litt uvant. Förväntningarna överträffades hela tiden, särskilt då standarden i England generellt är riktigt dålig så man vet aldrig vad man får. Lancaster London var väldigt fräscht, fint badrum och rum, härlig utsikt trots våning 5 (av17?). Vi bodde i ett superior dubbelrum och det fanns gott om plats både i rummet och badrummet. Mycket bra service. Ligger i samma […] byggnad som en tunnelbanestation (störde inte) för Central Line så det gick snabbt att ta sig till andra områden i London. Perfekt läge vid Hyde Park! "Helt ok trestjärnigt hotel!"
Något slitet hotelrum standard mer för 3*, problem att spola i toaletten. Men helt och rent, storleken var lagom. Vi hamnade på 7:e våningen och hade fin utsikt, vi sov jätte gott sängarna var sköna men korta. Läget var väldigt bra, vi hade valt att bo nära Hyde Park för att kunna morgonjogga i parken och det var underbart härligt.
