The hotel represented it had wifi, which was a main reason we selected it. It was entirely undependable and the staff was no help in fixing it. The refrigerator with items for purchase had a sticker on it advising that if you used it for your own items, you would be charged an additional $20 a day.

First of all, if you advertise that you are in Mayfair, you should actually be in Mayfair. Not the case. It's at least a 20 minute walk. For the price, I would stay somewhere else. This Hotel promoted itself as a bargaing and promotion, but all services at the hotel, phones, internet, restaurants ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. So they give you a price in a reservation you can not cancel and when you arrive they try you to pay an upgrades and provide services at very high prices. Also TV programs are very limited.

This hotel is in a great position very close to Great Portland street& Tube station . THe Rooms are on tight side , no spare space at all & that seems to be the trend for London . The front desk staff & doormen all in uniform , we can do without all this fancy dress , we unpacked the bar fridge and got food from from the Tesco express across the road […] and had our own breakfast in the room . From the Royal college of Music is about 10 minutes away walking & and Oxford st shopping is about 15 minutes away . Hotel internet service in the UK is expensive , try the telcos in Oxford street , I got a sim for data valid for a month and it cost 15 pounds for unlimited download , that was T/Mobile and we had good coverage just about all the time for the Ipad in the UK & Scotland. Our room was on the side street, no noise at all , the windows can be opened , the shower in the bath is not that great been rather cramped , the bathroom is a bit of a silly design with the door on the wrong side for easy entry . For my wife the postion was great as she was attending a conference .at the College of Physicians 3 minutes walk and this hotel was one of their recommendations , next time we will try another simpler establishment with less frills. On our walks we saw a Holiday Inn not that far away, just off Great Portland street seems to be more our type of Hotel. Read more

Told at check-in that the bar was open until 2am, but they refused to serve anyone after 12:30am as they were 'closing early'. Though the hotel itself was well maintained and convinient for our stay, the location in central London meant the traffic was very heavy at all times and unfortunately this hotel did not have necessary sound proofing to offset this. This hotel is in a good hotel and in general satisfied our needs but probably not our expectations. the lobby and bar areas on the ground floor are excellent, clean, spacious and to a high specification. The room we had was not of the same quality. The room was small and very tired. It almost appeared some of the decor had deliberately been distressed […] to match the worn out cabinets etc.. It was however very clean, the bed comfortable (if a little short and I'm only 6ft), and kept suitably warm despite the old double glazed windows. Reading other reports the other rooms appear to be more spacious and better equipped - as far as I'm concerned all the rooms should be the same standard and acceptability. The room was relatively expensive and I was disappointed how the hotel seemed to try and charge for everything on top - the wireless was only free in the bar area if you bought drinks etc. and was only free for 2 hours. The mini-bar was overpiced (aren't they all) but there was also a significant daily charge even if you wanted to use it for your own items. Would I go again, probably not if I was in a standard room. Døra mellom romma var ikkje "isolert-godkjent", dvs. det var ca to cm glipe mellom døra og golvet og det var glipe langs med heile karmen. Tidigare recensioner var tämligen överdrivna, ett normal slitet tidigare 4 stjärnigt hotell numer inte över 3, senaste renoveringen troligen gjord för 10-15 år sedan, läget är inte Mayfair som annonserats utan Regents, lite tråkig omgivning i utkanten av Londons shoppingdistrikt, det finns betydligt bättre hotell att välja ibland.
