The Staff we very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. The gave good advice on recommendations on things to do. The room was comfortable and clean. The only negative that I had was been woken at 7 in the morning outside traffic, which probably should be expected in a hotel near the city center. Location is very good, 1 minute from Lime street train station. My single room had a double bed and decent sized bathroom. Room was very clean. Breakfast was very basic, but seeing as it was included in the price it was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I work in Liverpool and occasionally stay overnight. The Lord Nelson is basic but clean and comfortable, and I've found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Bear in mind it is next door to a pub and the O2 Academy, so potentially noisy, but when I've stayed its been fine. Very convenient for Lime Station too. Overall an excellent budget hotel.

This was the second time I've stayed at the Lord Nelson, and I would not hesitate to stay there again for location and convenience while doing other things in Liverpool. The room was absolutely spotless, the service was friendly and overall, for a low cost, basic service, I don't think there's anything they could have done better.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. Unfortunately the electricity in my room kept tripping in the evening which took a while to sort out, but the staff were very helpful and pleasant. It was quite noisy at times but this is no reflection on the hotel itself, just a consideration to make if you're a light sleeper! Very good in every way. Lovely welcome. Great healthy buffet breakfast and coffee served with a smile. Very comfortable room with tea and coffee and very clean. Beside Lime Street station, theatre, 02 Academy and shops. Would recommend it as a hotel for great value, comfort, character friendliness and location.

Lord Nelson Hotel is a 2 star type of accommodation, so do not expect any kind of luxury. The customer service was excellent, at our arrival we were welcomed in a very friendly way. The room we had was big and clean and the bed was alright, the mattress a bit too soft. Breakfast in the morning was just what we needed: toasts, jam, cheese, yogurt, cereals, […] orange juice, coffee and tea. It is a nice place to stay for a night or two. Building is itself kinda old, but rooms were clean. Did not use their bar. Staff was fine too, ready to answer any questions. You could hear someone walking in the corridor, but that's about it, was not noisy at all. It's biggest benefit is it's location, right next to Lime Street Station.

I felt the room was over-priced for what it had to offer. The bed was not made until after I checked in. There is no soap in the bathroom and no phone in the room. The tv is too big for the room. Very welcoming on the reception on arrival, and were able to store our bags before check-in time of 2pm. The room was tidy, but the shower head bracket was broken and no mirror was available in the bedroom its self. it was very convienient for the purpose of our stay.

From previous reviews I was nervous about my stay here. However the man on the reception immediately put my fears at rest, he was very welcoming and helpful. The front and reception of the hotel are more like a hostel but my room was definitely a hotel room. It was comfortable, clean and there was hot water for the shower at 11pm.

The hotel was easy to find as it was so close to the Lime street railway station and the Empire Theatre. The staff were all lovely are friendly (even at 5.55am when I departed from the hotel!!!!). Hotel is undergoing refurbishment so we took that into account. Little things like no drawers for clothing and no wast bin in bathroom. Also we could not get hot water although my daughter on another floor could This did not matter much as we were only staying a night. Daughter had a single room and said there was hair on the sheets on her bed. However […] hopefully once the refurbishment is completed things should improve. Staff were very friendly but completely misled about the room: the booking options I had was room with breakfast or without breakfast. The websites (both Expedia and the Hotel's) said that all rooms come with TV sets and power showers. My room had neither, only a bath! I could have gone without the TV but I needed fast access to a shower in the morning […] and was left with no choice but to buy a portable shower kit from Argos to hook up to the bath taps. Only one power socket in the room that worked and it was nowhere near the tables with the lamp and electric kettle. Also WiFi did not work in the hotel room. Unable to switch rooms as the hotel was fully booked. The only good thing about it was the price and the convenience of the location - right next to Liverpool Lime Street station. Read more

I picked this place because I needed to catch a very early train. It's convenience for the station is about the only thing going for it. My first impression was good. A free upgrade as they weren't full. To one of their best rooms. I shudder to think what the original room was like. The bed was uncomfortable and only had a sheet between me and the matress […] - no protector of any sort. The lock on the door was a very old style (and very old) rim night latch. When I went out I was very nervous about leaving anything in there. Probably tells a lot about the hotel that there was no remote for the TV - when I asked about it I was told that they were available on a £10 deposit. It was clean, but a very small room - the bathroom was as big as the bedroom. There was free wifi, but no desk - there wasn't even a bedside table or cabinet, probably because one would have stopped the door opening! It was just un pleasant. Read more

I was a little bummed at what I got in the hotel. I had spent a whole day traveling from Helsinki to London to Manchester then to Liverpool and while I very much liked how the hotel was near Lime Street Station it didn't have a shower. So I had to run a bath which took forever because it must have taken 10-15 minutes just for the hot water to kick in. […] I guess for the price it was alright, but if you are coming to Liverpool, spend a little more money walk from the train to the waterfront (10-15 minutes) and pay a little more for better digs, I know I will be doing that the next time I'm on Merseyside.
