Loads of charm. Room was large and comfortable. Bathroom recently updated. Breakfast was delicious. A little difficult to locate because the street names in Ayr change every mile or so. Wi-Fi was good in public areas, but spotty in guest room. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very friendly staff, good breakfast, very enjoyable stay, the good weather was a bonus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A friendly place to stay"
The Hotel is in a quiet residential part of Ayr We found it most convenient to visit areas around the west coast There is plenty of car parking at the hotel which is a big plus --the beach is easy to walk to It is a very friendly hotel to stay atGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old racecourse character!"
This hotel has character! Don't expect perfection but come in expecting a friendly staff, older building, and history and you won't be disappointed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value for money"
The room that my sister and I stayed in was fine. There was chipped paintwork and the door rattled every time someone opened a door further down the hall (although my sister said it was the wind blowing). She also complained of the room being cold but I thought it was fine, however there were 2 electric heaters provided. The ensuite had recently been […] refurbished to a good standard. Breakfast was basic -( the sausage obviously from large catering pack), but still, was filling and nicely cooked. The bar was very minimal and disappointing with no atmosphere. In all, I thought value for money and would consider staying there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

great hotel for short break...intended to eat out but after seeing meals in hotel we decided to eat in...great value ....as I read in previous reviews staff were excellent... cooked breakfasts was better than some 4 * hotels...agree the hotel decor was slightly tired looking but this would not stop me returning to this hotel....would not hesitate to […] recommend this hotel to friends Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at the Old Racecourse Hotel for a family funeral. It is in a very convenient location and has on-site parking which was useful. The staff were welcoming and helpful and provided additional free-standing heaters to ensure we were not cold. The hotel has single glazing, so the cold weather affected our experience, but staff did all they could […] to make us comfortable. Great breakfast and a warm welcome. "Very convenient location in a quiet upmarket area."
Enjoy our stay in this friendly hotel. The location was excellent in a quiet upmarket area. Ample parking available. Breakfast was excellent. Would definately return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a nice comfortable stay in a quite location of the town. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was normal, though, had to ask about bacon. This was sorted by next day, and the Sunday roast was just what I needed at the time, after a long day at Culzean Castle. Overall would recommend this accommodation to most. Tho, may not be suitable […] to those looking for a central location to town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our stay in Ayr, as we were visiting family living nearby. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and breakfasts were freshly cooked and enjoyable. The location was good, and our only problem was that the central heating system did not work upstairs on the days we were there, and it was rather chilly in the evenings. We spoke to staff […] and they provided free-standing heaters for both bedrooms which was a great help. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
