Best Western Glasgow City Hotel

The people working the desk were very helpful, especially Grant. The bathroom was cleaned very well each day, but the carpet in the room was not vacuumed every day and was pretty filthy to start with.The mini fridge in the room did not work. I let the desk know on the day I checked in, but it was never fixed or replaced. The location is great; about […] a ten minute walk to St. George Square and Central station. There are several grocery stores, restaurants and pubs within walking distance as well. There is a parking garage around the corner and the hotel will validate your parking. The area was very quiet and I never heard any of the other guests. I did not purchase the breakfast as it seemed a bit pricy. There is a computer in the lounge with free internet access and the desk will print a couple of pages for you. If you are looking for a reasonably priced home base while in Glasgow or Scotland this is a great deal. Read more

Nice hotel really close to all the pubs and shops of Glasgow. Room was really nice and the hotels was well maintined. The only negatives I have are the lack of parking and the noise. We stayed on a Saturday night and our room was positioned in the fornt of the building, so basiclaly on the street. At about 2 AM the people at the pubs began to fan out […] and the drunken hoard spilled onto the streets. It got pretty loud and for a while and it didn't quiet down until about 3 AM. I remeber some guy screaming "Scott?!, Scott?!" on and off for 20 minutes. Wouldn't hav e been that big of a deal except I had to wake up for a flight at 5. Maybee requesting a room away form the street would solve this. If this hotel was about two or three blocks over, it probably would have gotten all 4's and 5's. Read more

I lived in the city for 6 years, yet was surprised to find this secret gem boutique hotel at such a super price. Even the room service is reasonable. The location was convenient. The staff was adequate if not particulary friendly. The hotel was pretty old. I was given a basement room, which I didn't particularly like though it was quite large. No elevator in the hotel, so big bags were a little difficult to drag up and down the steps.

Hotel was a very good selection to use as a base. It is 10 blocks from the Queen Street Rail station. The Delux Double room is very comfortable and had plenty of room. The staff was freindly and, with one exception, was attentive to our needs. There are plenty of shops and resturants within two or three blocks.

The hotel generally was comfortable, however the double bed consisterd for two singles pushed together and we were given a disabled bathroom. The hotel listed having a vending machine but when asked where it was we were told there was not one and to go to the shops along the road. Generally an alright stay.

I wasn't impressed with the first room I was given as this was right next door to the reception desk. I asked for another room as I could hear people coming and going pass the reception desk and it wasnt really acceptable. Thankfully, I was given another room and this was a much better room. Hotel was nice and staff were pleasant.

Shower head did not work, would not stay on cradle, made showe uncomfortable. heater in room too high, was difficult to see how to adjust it. TV was limited to only some channels. Otherwise, clean, staff very helpful adn friendly. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, with variety.

Excellent value and very convenient for the city centre and railways stations. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional. Rooms are perfectly adequate with wardrobe, ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. trouble was, the Central Heating system made an infernal racket for quite a lot of the early hours of the morning making it quite impossible to sleep.
