In Glasgow for magnificent Status Quo concert an Jury's was a real find. Very convenient on Clydeside - 10 mins walk to concert and right beside central station. Reception staff very welcoming and got an early check in. Had booked a superior room which had view over river - lovely but also importnat to note that cheaper rooms at back overlook station […] and may be noisy - worth the extra for Superior and free internet access,water and biccies too. Breakfast looked busy, but we didn't use- instead went for the full Scottish at the Crystal Palace Weatherspoons right beside hotel - for 1/3 the price. Shallow bath and intermitent air con/heating only gripes. Would certainly stay again. Parking available in multi storey opposite and main shopping area just a few mins walk away. I was in Glasgow for 1 day from Edinburgh and had to stay over night so Booking in was very pleasant and easy, staff very friendly then when I came back from a night out the night porter couldn't have been anymore helpful finding me a phone charger as I had left mine in my car. Breakfast was what you'd expect from a hotel nothing to write home about […] and the lack of breakfast staff was one thing that I did notice there weren't any and the tables had dirty crockery on them. The room was facing the Clyde so when the work on the riverbank started very early i was not to pleased to be woken by _ _ B diggers. Apart from that very enjoyable stay. "Great location, disappointing stay"
Selected this hotel for its location. its just off argyle st and only half mile from O2 academy. Started off well, checked into room, it had recently been decorated, and someone forgot to complete the finishing touches like putting the toilet roll holder back on the wall and putting the covers back on the door handles. Also, the bin hadn't been emptied […] since previous guest had departed. which then makes you wonder what else had not been done.... Then discovered that the door didn't lock from the outside when we went to go out, it could be pushed open at any time. Tried to call reception, but phone didn't work so had to go back downstairs. Was given a room on 7th floor, walked in and housekeeping hadn't been in to clean it at all! Tried calling reception, no answer after 5mins waiting. As we left room, bumped into a manager who checked us into our final room on 11th floor. It's was much better and we were even given complimentary glass of wine each at the bar for our troubles. So, while the rooms are hit and miss, the hotel service was pretty good and is good value for money. Although, ask for the highest floor available as it is much quieter the higher you go. From the moment we arrived we were comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. As I don't Iike lifts, so have to walk upstairs, I'd asked for a room on a lower floor- it was on the 3rd floor which I managed to walk up to fairly easily. Our room was twin bedded. the beds were very clean and comfortable and it was a good size so we were n ot following […] over each other. The toiletries were provided in large bottles which were well placed next to both handbasin and the shower and the bath was low, so no problems getting in or out. Breakfast was provided in the restaurant on the Entrance floor, hot food was hot and there was a good variety of everything. Jurys Inn is situated in the city centre so getting around was easy and you can walk almost everywhere. We were amazed by the number of buses, they run frequently and many go near the hotel itself. The staff were very cooperative and helpful. The room was cleaned to a high standard and the breakfast was more than adequate. A good start to the day. My only reservation would be the rates charged for internet access. Asking more than 25% of my room rate for 24 hours of internet access seems excessive. I stay here on business quite a lot and am always satisfied with the hotel. This time however on a personal trip, myself and husband were given a disabled access room which wasn't very comfortable. We were also lookingonto Central Station which is very noisy. This hotel is so nice when you get a room overlooking the water. Hotellet ligger mitt i centrum bara 2 minuter från Centralstationen. Vårt rum var hur rent som helst och vi fick ett rum längst upp i hotellet så trafiken störde inte. Jättetrevlig personal. Við vorum fjögur saman á hótelinu frá 1. til 4. des 2011 og völdum okkur að vera í reykherbergi. Það voru okkar mistök, því að við versluðum mikið og komum með allt angandi af reykingarlykt heim til okkar. Það skipti engu máli þótt að við reyktum ekki sjálf inná herbergjunum, því að lyktin barst í gegnum loftræstikerfið og sérstaklega á kvöldin þegar […] felstir voru inná herbergjunum sínum, þá var reykjarmökkur um alla hæðina. Eins og fyrr sagði þá var þetta okkar mistök algjörlega en ekki hótelsins. Við vorum mjög ánægð með alla þjónustu á hótelinu, við mót starfsfólks var æðislegt og herbergin voru vel þrifin daglega, morgunmaturinn æðislegur og staðsetningin frábær. Við mælum með Jury´s Inn Jamaica Street við alla sem við þekkjum, því að ef þú þarft ekki að taka leigubíl í 4 daga til þess að gera allt sem þú þarft að gera, þá segir það mikið um staðsetninguna.
