"Disappointed with our "superior" upgrade room 310"
unfortuately we upgraded to a superior room for our usual standard double. we wanted to complain about the room for various reasons but felt it was too much hassel and didnt want to cause a fuss. the room wasnt a double room, merely a twin with the beds pushed together! the room was smaller than our usual size, with the television being very small. […] we were issued a superior room (with a sea view) yet felt disappointed with the "upgrade" we had chosen as a treat. we have used the savoy many times before however will seriously consider other competitors all priced at similar rates. overall we left the hotel feeling disappointed rather than had a great night away. "Back In Time"
The price of this hotel was the main reason for staying here. I didn't expect much and it was exactly was I expected. Once one of Blackpool finest, now a sad and tired hotel. Dated rooms and public areas, guests of a certain age and breakfast from the value range. I can't complain about the price and if I wanted style and excellent food then I would […] have to have paid more for it - I choose not to. I just needed a bed to sleep in. "life on mars". "Mixed Experience"
The hotel is a large, rather grand-looking Victorian pile which is centrally located on the Queens Promenade right on the sea-front. Tram stop just across from the hotel and just 3 or 4 stops to the centre. The main function rooms including the ballroom are rather grand but have seen better days. They are now a little jaded and grubby and need a good […] clean. Most of the common areas including the dining room are carpeted but this too is jaded and dirty in places. My room on the fourth floor (lift which takes 3 people only) goes only as far as third floor. My single room could have been cleaner - tea bag left in teapot and stubble left in the bathroom sink from previous guest! The water pressure in the shower was very weak and the curtain was hanging from the rail in the bedroom. The room had all the facilities you could need but a little more attention to cleaning and maintenance would have been welcome. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helfpul even though the hotel was very busy with a swing dance event and a wedding during my stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel quite good value, but in need of spring clean and decorating. Lift too small for size of hotel and somebody set off fire alarm, disabled rooms were on 3 floor, how do they get down stairs if severly disabled as one guest was and was very worried. Left phone charger in room but nobody found it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"disapponting"
booked a twin room .but 1st room only had a double bed. reception staff friendly and said no twin rooms where available. they did offer to switch us to one of there sister hotels. but in the end we had two separate rooms the 1st night and an upgrade twin room with sea view the 2ND night. found all three rooms to be in the same sorry state. light carpets […] which was full of stains . as was the walls and furniture. silver insulation around pipe work which looks awful went down to breakfast to find big round tables .you help your self to food then sit down next to a strangers. found that very off putting. fire alarm went off at 3.00am for a few minutes. there was no information from staff .it was only because we heard a couple get up and go downstairs then come back up that we new it was a false alarm. we checked out that morning and staff said nothing about why the alarm had gone off like most big hotels they have to many rooms to maintain .and hotel is in need of refurbishment and investment Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"savoy hotel blackpool"
hotel is very dated as other reviewers have said, room was a bit dissapointing but as i had got it at a reasonable price it was ok the lift is tiny only 3 people at a time and as 3pm is check in time and no earlier it took a while it only goes to 3rd floor and we were on the 4th which was not ideal with a small child and large case ! when i got there […] there was no bed for my son but this was rectified as soon as i rang reception there was no towels for him either and tv did not work but both these were also sorted by the very helpfull and friendly staff.the breakfast is very good with fruit youghurt croissants crusty bread cheese ham cereals and cooked buffet breakfast available the only complaint there was dining room got very busy and our friends were put in another room as there is not enough tables.it is further out than we thought but the bus and tram stops are just outside the door we bought all day tickets from the spar up the road which is cheaper than buying on the bus or tram and could get on either all day long.our friends had paid a lot for thier room and did not think it worth it but as it is only a base it was fine.the staff were pleasant and helpfull there is a happy few hours in day when it is good value for some of the drinks but we missed this most days as we were out and about.the car park was not as big as we had thought either but we both found spaces there is a big paying carpark next door if you didnt manage to get one. HOTEL IS IN NEED OF REFURBISHING, THE ROOMS ARE OLD AND WORN OUT, THE HOTEL TURNED DOWN THE HEATING DURING THE DAY, AND THE PRICES FOR MEALS WERE EXPENSIVE OVER THE NEW YEAR PERIOD ALSO THE RESTAURANT CLOSED ON THE 30TH AND 31ST DEC SO THERE WAS NO OPTION,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Shadow of its Former Self"
Once upon a time, this was a grand hotel, but now it is looking very tired. It would require a massive spend to return this hotel to its former glory and it is probably not what is required in Blackpool, so the cost of a big refurbishment would never be recouped . At least, at the moment, it provides a cheap bed for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Acceptable"
As per usual with this brand of hotel the fabric of the building and the fixtures and fittings were in need of complete refurbishment. It was somewhere to sleep, only a £5 taxi ride away from the main nightspots. The breakfast was edible. One unexpected highlight was the jaccuzi bath in the bathroom. For the price I paid it wasn't too bad.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Savoy Hotel, Blackpool"
A charming old building in a charming setting. The room was disappointing: old and tired, and smelly. The toilet bowl was leaking and a plastic bucket had been placed under it to catch the water: on reporting this to the front desk they told us they knew about it, but didn't offer to fix it or find us another room. We were disappointed not have a room […] with a sea view. The in-house pub + food and the singer/bingo were a pleasant surprise: we stayed in and enjoyed the in-house entertainment. First of all Id like to say that im not one of the types to compain about hotels or anything else for that matter..... I'v stayed in many but this was seriously terrible.... iv never felt the need to write a review before but had to worn you all,,,,, I have stayed in Blackpools Norbreck Castle Hotel up the Road before it is cheaper in price and in my […] opinion it is a better hotel... First of all out bed was so hard it was like laying on the floor, the thick black dirt on the windows that had clearly never been cleaned was discuting. The room was so hot because of the massive pipe running through it that you needed the window open that wouldnt stay open without something propping it up. The cold tap was loose and felt like it woulf break when u used it. We asked for more toilet roll at reception was told someone was bringing it up now and 4 hour later I had to call again as we were still waiting and was rudely told to come down and get it ourselves. The free breakfast was so horrible that we ended up going out to buy it from a cafe. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

nice peaceful location, but hotel a bit tired looking. Pigeons kept us awake some of the night outside the window. Breakfast room very busy in the morning had to wait to be seated, alot of tables not cleared and ran out of tea.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Food in Breakfast excellent - Standards not to EHO on presentation."
all fabulous ref hotel except breakfast - where do i begin! Food excellent - the chef is superb Service - 20 dirty tables around where i was sitting waited 25 mins for eggs bacon and toast. cereal overflowing in a pile - ran out of tea coffee and juice on both days. I had breakfast at 8am one morning and also 9am both a disaster - Duty manager not […] available and when he did appear an hour later didnt handle my thoughts at all well staff said that they were in it for the money and nothing else. However I would not slate a hotel which just needs a bit of training and support. On 2nd day the night porter saved the day with topping up the hot buffett a true assett to the team. "Altes Hotel à la haunted house im viktorianischen Stil"
Zur Eröffnung vor ca 200 Jahren musste das Hotel einer Perle ähnlich gewesen sein. Heute jedoch lässt sich der Charme von gestern nur mit viel Fantasie erahnen. Das Frühstück roch so wie der Teppich aussah - muffig. Die gute Strandlage des Hotels und die kostenlosen Parkplätze sind jedoch eindeutig als positiv zu bewerten.Genuine Expedia guest review
