"Overall not impressive for a Hilton"
Had to move rooms due to uncleanliness of first room. Poor facilities in swimming changing room. Bed very uncomfortable with broken springs. Spa staff unhelpful and not very well informed. Breakfast was good and reception and lobby staff very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very poor hotel for the reputation."
wardrobe door very badly marked. water coming from under bath. Tap very difficult to turn off. Crazy bathroom design with frosted window to the bedroom so if you are in the room with somebody else and they turn the bathroom light on during the night the whole room light up. Doors close noisily. We had a terrible nights sleep here. On arrival I asked […] to book a table at Cloud 23, this was the main reason we booked the hotel, I was told that this was not required. I told the receeptionist that I would really like to book a table as we had dinner reservations made, he insisted it was not necessary. "5 MINUTES WALK TO CENTRE"
QUITE DISAPPOINTED - WASTE BIN IN THE BATHROOM STILL HAD RUBBISH FROM PREVIOUS OCCUPANT - BREAKFAST TABLE HAD A FLOWER WHICH WAS STONE DEAD. PLATES WERE LEFT BETWEEN COURSES SO WE PLACED THEM ON AN EMPTY TABLE. POOR SERVICE.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Doesnt live up to it's name"
Had booked a double room for weekend away with hubby and looked forward to it since January. Was greeted very cordially by porter and receptionists in lovely lobby. All looked gorgeous until we reached 5th floor where our room was . As the lift opened, the smell of stale cigarette smoke hit us. The room it was no better..only thinly disguised and added […] to by the cheap air freshener on a ledge. As the hotel promises a strict no-smoking rule I was surprised that a whole floor could smell so strongly.. I checked and none of the other floors smelled bad. The room was a disappointment. The carpet was stained and scuffed, the furniture scratched, scuffed and shabby looking and the chair had horrible stains on the seat and armrest. The bedding had holes in it and the bathroom door had initials scratched into it. The bedside table and alarm clock, as well as the ledges surrounding the bed were covered in thick dust, which was not cleaned at all during our 3-night stay. There were no robes or slippers provided, something that would have been nice seeing as there is a pool. The pool area itself also showed signs of needing some TLC. Tiles were missing, broken or uneven, the sun loungers were dirty and rusty and there was bits of masonry around the windows and on the floor. "Not a 4* experience"
My partner and I have stayed at the Hilton a few times now, as he enjoys the executive lounge, as do I. If we would have booked a normal room, I would have been disappointed with the entire stay. The room did not meet expectation, with blood on robe and pillow, bed was uncomfortable, the towel handle falling off etc plus we were across from Rumours […] night club, live band was blasting from 11 to 2am, I complained and not even an offer to exchange rooms. "The hotel in Deangates....."
We got very pleasant service from the reception, but however when we checked in to our room the shower wasn’t working, We called in the the reception as we were going out to eat, My partner spoke to one of the receptionist that the shower isn't working, he advised al get someone to look into it for you. When we came back after 2 hours advised the receptionist […] has the shower been fixed he advised "sorry I will come up with yourself and al get the concierge"…however after all that the shower was broken so we were moved to another room and upgraded our breakfast to the Executive lounge so was pleased with that….however as the night by my partner discovered the leg was broken on the bed as it was making a lot of noise also the corridor smelled of dirty socks!!!...
