We visited Toulouse only to catch a flight home the next day so we only visited the city for a few hours in the afternoon. The hotel is near the train station so we were not expecting great surroundings.However we were quite put off by the situation when we got there.It was much worse than train station areas in other cities we have visited and the […] state of the streets was unacceptable. There were a large number of dubious people drinking on street corners and the sidewalks were covered in dog feces. We walked down towards the Garonne river and the more touristy ares and these things improved but the city left us with a bad impression- dirty, polluted and not all that. Interesting. The hotel was cheap, and great for a late arrival at the station. It's so close to walk, just across the road. Having said that we had to wander up and down the road looking for it as it's not clearly signed and building numbers were difficult to find. The room was very basic, narrow, just enough room for the bed and passage past. The walls were incredibly […] thin and we were kept away by a roomfull of youngsters next door. The staff were sweet when we called about it and asked the youngsters to be quiet, but it was difficult not to hear any kind of conversation. Personalet var utroligt hjælpsomme, men hotellet som sådan var ikke i top, men det havde vi jo heller ikke betalt for. Så til prisen var det ok. Gaden hotellet ligger i er ikke i den pæne ende af Toulouse, så man kan blive antastet af folk på gaden.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Ambassadeurs: convivialité proche de la gare"
Je recherchais un hôtel à prix raisonnable pour une escale d'une nuit à proximité de la gare Matabiau. L’hôtel des Ambassadeurs répondait à tous ces critères. Les gérants étaient très sympathiques avec notamment des conseils sur ma destination finale. Autour de l'hôtel (moins de 5 min à pied), il y a pas mal d'endroits pour manger, du fast-food à la […] brasserie traditionnelle. La chambre était très propre et confortable, bien chauffée malgré la vague de froid du moment (chauffage central + clim réversible réglable avec une télécommande fournie). J'avais réservé une chambre pour 1 personne et j'ai eu une chambre pour 3, suffisante par la taille pour un séjour sans luxe mais à petit prix au centre de Toulouse (cad utilisation de la chambre juste pour y dormir). La déco est simple et récente. Bien que ma chambre donnait sur la rue, je n'ai pas entendu de bruits de circulation. Par contre, je pouvais entendre la TV assez bruyante du voisin. Cet hotel est reelent en face de la gare .quartier populaire ... tres bon accueil de jour comme de nuit .
