This was the first hotel that my fiance and I stayed at on our long European vacation and we felt spoiled after staying in other hotels. The service from every receptionist was incredible. They offered a very helpful map with all the sights labeled as well as a subway map. They explained (in English) how to get anywhere we wanted to go. We loved walking […] out of the hotel and seeing the Eiffel Tower- which was also very easy to walk to. They also sent us to a wonderful crepe restaurant right around the corner. Despite the fact that it was August and many shops were closed, there was a small supermarket right down the road where we could buy anything we needed, and that was open late. The room was very clean, and the bed was nice and comfortable. What really made me love this place, though, was the fact that they sent me my iPod, which I left in the room. Housekeeping had already returned it to the front desk by the time I realized and contacted them. They were very quick and professional with sending it to me at my temporary address in Italy. I will certainly be staying in this hotel again if I return to Paris, and would definitely recommend it. "Paper-Thin Walls"
The good - The hotel is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from the Metro and 10 minutes from the Eiffel Tower. It is also very clean and was recently renovated. The bad - The rooms are very small ... but you should expect that in Europe, especially Paris. You have no control over the room temperature. There is a thermostat in the room, but it […] does not work. The temperature is whatever the hotel management wants it to be. It was quite warm when I stayed there in late April. Last and most importantly, although they have done an excellent job sound-proofing the rooms from the outside street noise, they have done a poor job sound-proofing the rooms from each other. The walls are paper-thin and you will hear every little noise your neighbors make. I have stayed in dozens of hotels in Europe and never have I stayed in one where the walls were so thin. You cannot use the A/C or heater to drown-out any noise as it runs nearly silent. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep during my recent stay here. I would recommend this 33 room hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced hotel (3 stars) in a quiet neighborhood (15th Arr). The room was small compared to hotel rooms in the US but adequate. The staff speak English and are very nice and helpful to anyone needing assistance. There is WiFi in every room. I did not have a computer . We had a small emergency back home. Our son sent an email to the hotel and the message was delivered the next morning when we came to breakfast. (11 euros per person)but there is a nice bakery 2 min away (12 Eur total) The hotel is located equal distance between two metro stations (Dupliex and Charles Michel) only about a 5 minute walk either way. The Eifel Tower is only about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel and you can see it from some of the rooms on the front side. If you like crepes, there is an excellent restaurant about 5 minute walk away. The hotel is being renovated but we heard little noise . Although rather small, this hotel is in a prime location for all the top sights to see in Paris. Walking out the front door you can see the Eiffel Tower down the street; within a 5 minute walk you can be by the Seine and the Statue of Liberty. We didn't try the restaurant in the hotel, but there's a great pizza & grill restaurant round the corner and the Dupleix Bistro opposite the station have the friendliest waiters in Paris. Service was quick for both dinner and breakfast! We would have eaten there every night if we hadn't discovered it only on our last night in Paris.
