Villa Modigliani was better than I'd expected, given it's relative inexpensiveness compared to other hotels in Paris. The setting was perfect, in a nice neighborhood close to restaurants, metro stops, and not far from the center of Paris. The set up of the room was nice for a family room, there was a bunkbed separated from the queen bed by a small door which allowed a little more privacy than other family rooms we'd stayed in. My concerns were with the unpleasant smell that occurred when we'd return to the room after a day out, particularly if we'd left the bathroom door open. And the last night of our stay we had a leak from the ceiling that continued through the night. I'm hoping it was due to the high humidity of the air and the air conditioning, rather than the source of the unpleasant smell....... We left very early the next morning for the airport so didn't have the opportunity to see how the hotel would deal with the problem. On business trip, I stayed at this hotel. The good: Free WiFi, even in the room (5th floor). quiet place, even though very close to Montparnasse The not so good. very poor breakfast. The croissants and pains au chocolat are rather bland. No sausages, just to poor scrambled eggs, questionable bacon and hashbrowns. Bread is ok though (brown rolls and […] baguette). You also can get some cereals (1 type), yoghurt, juice, italian salami or ham, emental. That's it. The room itself lacks power sockets (not even a free socket at the desk, I had to disconnect the TV) and none beside the bed either to my phone which was also my alarm was rather far. "Ruime kamer op een goede lokatie"
Hotel ligt op een zeer goede plek in Montparnasse, met metrostop Vavin om de hoek en metro stop Edgar Quinet op korte loopafstand. Veel leuke bistros en cafes en een groot aantal creperies. Het hotel heeft een eigen hofje waar de kamers op uitkijken. De kamers zijn hierdoor bijzonder rustig. De receptie op de eerste dag was teleurstellend. Een frontdesk […] medewerker die absoluut geen zin had om ons te helpen en geen enkele moeite deed om vriendelijk over te komen. De andere medewerkers waren wel vriendelijker. De kamer was schoon en met redelijk veel ruimte. De kamers hebben wel wat onderhoud nodig; begint er een beetje 'vermoeid' uit te zien. We hadden een tweepersoons kamer besteld maar er was ook een stapelbed ik de zijkamer. Het hotel heeft een eigen garage heeft zodat je geen heisa met jouw auto hebt. Voor 16 Euro per dat is dat erg fijn om je daar geen zorgen over te maken. Minpunten: - Kluisje in de kamer was gebroken. Na 3x vragen gaven we het op -- werd niet gerepareerd. - Er kwam een vervelend luchtje van de WC. Heeft iets te maken met algemeen onderhoud. - Bedden hadden van die ouderwetse wollen dekens alhoewel we er geen last van hadden, hoort het niet bij een hotel van deze prijs - Het ontbijt (20 Euro) is te duur -- je kunt beter bij de bakker iets halen of gaan ontbijten bij een van de bistros in de buurt.
