South of the Latin Quarter, this residential and commercial district contains the evocative cafés and brasseries of the Lost Generation near Place Vavin and Montparnasse Cemetery. "Stay elsewhere!!!"
No air conditioning. I think they should mention that in the hotel info. We ran in to warm weather in Paris. the room is very small, no air, no ventiation, only a small fan. If you try to sleep with the windoows open, the noise is dreadful and there is absolutely no breeze coming in the window.. The lift was out when we arrived and had to take our luggage […] up 4 flights. No offer of help from the staff. The best is their airport shuttle scheme. They advertise a service for 40 euros, door to door. It seems like a good deal if you have to catch a plane. However, the hotel collects 16 euros of the 40 as a finders fee/commission. The driver only gets 24 euros. A nice 40% commission for the hotel. Of course, they do not tell you this until the last day. Spend the extra money and get a better property. "Clean and quaint, but not very comfortable"
The location was great since it was next to a subway and a delicious bakery, but not ideal since it was quite far from CDG and a little farther from the main downtown area than we liked. The hotel was well-kept and and in a good condition. The free internet was awesome. However, the cleaning staff wasn't the greatest, they routinely moved all of our […] stuff around which is a little disconcerting. They didn't address obvious toilet deficiencies unaddressed so that we had to ask for things (toilet paper, etc) on a couple of occasions. "le 55 Montparnasse - noisy"
Whilst clean, comfortable (except for one major thing) and very handy to a Metro station, cafes, bars and restaurants, our main 'comfort' gripe was the loud street noise at night that penetrated our room. Our non-airconditioned first-floor room was on the (cobbled) side lane and we were disturbed by every wheelie-bin, garbage truck, midnight party, […] and motor-scooter (double-glazed windows would definitely help here). There were no safes in the rooms or front desk. Breakfast was pretty average and the staff least friendly of our whole trip (though the concierges spoke reasonable English). "Hotel valido come base d'appoggio per persona sola"
Unico lato positivo: posizione vicinissima alla stazione metrò Pernety. L'hotel è piccolo con la rampa delle scale angusta e scalini con poca superficie d'appoggio. C'è almeno un ascensore che può supplire al problema. Le stanze sono piccole a tal punto che si ha appena 60/70 cm di spazio tra pareti e letto matrimoniale. Unica eccezione: il lato del […] letto a fianco della parete che permette l'accesso al bagno: la porta per entrarvi non si apre completamente, ma almeno permette l'accesso all'indispensabile vano. Lo definisco "vano" in quanto se la stanza è piccola potete figurarvi il bagno: chi, come me, è stato anche camperista, riesce ad adattarsi. C'è addirittura la vasca da bagno con doccia. E' superficiale specificare che manca il bidet. In camera non c'è aria condizionata: in dotazione danno un ventilatore di quelli a cinque velocità, ma senza neppure la motorizzazione per farlo girare. Il servizio in camera è deplorevole: è quotidiano problema richiedere alla hall qualcosa che viene a mancare da una pulizia all'altra: sapone, asciugamani e, cosa che mi è capitata solo stavolta, pure il lenzuolo sul letto! La colazione non l'ho testata anche perché chiedono 10 euro/giorno aggiuntivi a persona quando la via è strapiena di caffetterie e pasticcerie che permettono di fare un'ottima colazione a prezzi decisamente inferiori. "Hotel carino, ma non all'altezza di Parigi."
Unici due punti a favore dell'hotel: 1) e' a 30 mt. dalla fermata Pernety della linea 13 del metro; 2) offriva 2 camere sullo stesso piano al prezzo di una (offerta per famiglie). Per quanto riguarda le camere, quella di mia figlia 17enne era spaziosa e con un bel bagno ampio, quella per me e mio marito era minuscola e con un bagno inesistente ( camere […] standard al 1° piano, magari quelle di livello superiore ai piani alti sono migliori...). Comunque, visto che si sta fuori tutto il tempo, la cosa che a me interessava di piu' non erano tanto i mq, quanto la pulizia: e qui e' il tasto dolente! Essendoci la moquette, dovrebbero preoccuparsi di passare l'aspirapolvere, invece... Anche il bagno, non essendo nuovissimo ma gia' "vissuto" da anni e microscopico, dovrebbero preoccuparsi di pulire TUTTE le superfici, non solo la cromatura del rubinetto del lavandino... In quanto all'accoglienza, i due receptionist che abbiamo incontrato hanno dimostrato una certa "fatica" ad essere cordiali, ma si sa, non c'e' mai stato troppo feeling tra noi ed i nostri "cugini" d'oltralpe!! Meno male che tutto il resto della vacanza e' stato perfetto, per cui la valutazione complessiva non puo' che essere piu' che positiva. Dans l'ensemble, il s'agit d'un hôtel qui peut-être recommandé. "Varmt!"
Rommene mangler aircondition, noe som betyr at det blir svært varmt om natten i det klaustrofobiske rommet!!! Ingen bemerkninger på standard og renhet forøvrig, men på et tre-stjerners hotel forventer en mer enn en bord-vifte.
