The streets southwest of the Arc de Triomphe comprise exclusive residential properties, embassies, dynamic modern architecture and smart restaurants. Riverside landmarks are the grandiose Palais de Chaillot in its fountain gardens, the Palais de Tokyo and the Maison de Radio-France (free concerts). Beyond the Périphérique, the Bois de Boulogne is a park with lakes and plentiful leisure amenities but is best avoided after dark.

"Superior rooms definitely worth the extra"
I booked an extra night separately, so ended up staying in both a superior room and an ordinary one, and although I was very pleased with both, I definitely think the superior was worth the little bit extra. The room decor is clearly newer (it's the ones in the photos) and felt a lot more stylish and comfortable for not very much more money at all. […] Overall though, everything was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal as I needed to be at Porte Maillot for work. Supermarket across the road was open late for snacks, and there is also a bakery a little further along. Having tried several hotels in the same area on my previous trips, this is probably the first one I would go back to. Like any hotel in an older building, you can sometimes hear other guests in the corridor, but overall I found it to be quiet as well, and very good value considering Paris prices! We stayed at the Hotel Malakoff over the very hot weekend at the end of September. The staff were very good indeed. The attention to detail of the chamber staff left a liitle to be desired, but not to the extent where it became a major problem. The rooms are becoming a little tired. This is a comfortable hotel very convenient to the Palais de Congres, the No. 1 line of the Metro and the Bois de Boulogne. The breakfast was great, the service desk was excellent. Two small quibbles: the door hinges need some WD-40 as they opened loudly. And it would really have been nice to have access to a sports channel and some English news on […] the TV. Trevlig hotell och personal! Gratis Wi-Fi. Bra läge! Nära T-bana/RER och Triumfbågen. Frukostbuffén var OK men priset var högt i förhållande till innehållet (femton euro/dag). "Petit, but cosy"
The location is great -- close to the metro and walking distance to the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower. Also close to public bike stations -- love them. The traffic can be noisy, but the windows block out almost all sounds. Bodde här en natt och var mycket nöjd med hotellet. Det ända som jag egentligen störde mig på var att jag vaknade till vid ett tillfälle av att man hörde vatten från avloppet i väggen. Inte så bra isolerat med andra ord.
