This was a lovely hotel! The hotel staff were consistently helpful and cheerful. It was a bit warm on the top floor and the sound of the metro precluded having an open window to cool off, but the room was fairly spacious and very clean. The TV was limited, but I certainly didn't go to Paris to watch TV! The WiFi signal was strong and consistent. I loved […] being able to see the Eiffel Tower while lying in bed. I loved how the Eiffel Tower was in view from the room. Although the room also looked out at the metro elevated train tracks, with the window closed you could not hear the train. It wasn't a problem at all. The first night, we were abruptly awoken in the predawn hours by another guest entering our room. The night manager, who had also checked us in, had forgotten to note what room we were in and gave it to someone else as well. Other issues included the a/c, which was turned off for the entire hotel in the middle of August (also the hottest week in Europe […] in the last two years,) the hair dryer and bathroom lights were broken, the shower was clogged and flooded the bathroom, there was construction at 7am every day outside our window (which had to be open to because of the lack of a/c), and drunk guests making noise all night. The walls are paper thin, and despite the hotel being "non-smoking" the guests only took that as a suggestion in the privacy of their rooms. Finally, to round out our stay, on the last day the water was shut off with no warning for over an hour, though they did let us check out at noon so we could shower before another 90 degree day. If you should decide to stay here, be warned that though breakfast goes until 10, by 0930 all that is left is stale baguette and the dregs of the coffee pot. They will not make more. We are seasoned travellers and have managed expectations, especially for Paris. We were prepared for a room so small that the luggage rack was an unfunny joke. However, this fell well below any reasonable standard. Even as a place to crash after a long day of site seeing, it's not worth it. Read more

Our room was smaller than other rooms we stayed in during our trip in Europe, but it was sufficient. We were on the first floor, with the door opening into the courtyard, and could hear people talking in the courtyard as they went to and from their rooms. We could also hear the shower and toilet flushing in the room above us. What an awful place. I couldn't believe how tiny the room was and there was absolutely no view of the Eiffel as stated. Stairway is so tiny and frightening I avoided it at all costs and took the lift. Unfortunately the lift was just as tiny and dreadful. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are several within a block or two. Two bakeries close by let us have fresh croissants and jam with our coffee in the mornings. Despite the name, the hotel is several blocks from the Eiffel Tower, and the view of the tower itself is limited. The hotel is only a few blocks away from three Metro stops, which is the best way we found to get around Paris. We consider this hotel an excellent value for your Euro. We will definitely be visiting Paris again, and when we do, we'll look to stay at the Hotel Eiffel Segur. Read more

This hotel is a good value for the money,minutes away from the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides. A few steps from the metro and various little restuarants, cafes and stores. Elevators are really small, and they stop in between floors. We were going to the fifth floor so we took the elevator to 4/5 and walked up the half landing. Not bad except upon arrival and check out when you have luggage. Rooms are also quite small. No real place to put your clothes other than some hooks and hangers on the wall. Bathroom was clean and somewhat remodeled. The glass door was a poor choice because it only opens inward which makes it uncomfortable to enter and exit the shower. Did I say SUPER COMFY BED!! After sightseeing all day, this was the best thing by far. The metro runs right in front of our window, the windows, once closed, do a good job filtering out the noise. Room service is everyday. Upon checking in we were told that breakfast was from 7am to 10am downstairs. Breakfast is NOT free. It's 10euros per person per day, if you have it. They do not make it clear that it's a paid breakfast. You have a selection of pastries and fruit, cereal, cheeses, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Read more

This is an older hotel, but the location, price and availability of local restaurants are terrific. Bathrooms are new, but a little quirky because the size is rather small. The hotel is typical French - tiny room with very little extras most Americans have come to expect. We had a room on the 4th floor. When we arrived, the elevator was broke. It was quite a climb up to the 4th floor with our luggages. Fortunately, the elevator was fixed within about 30 minutes. There was literally no room to put down our luggage once we made it into the room. Other the size of the room, this was actually a very good place. It is about 4 tram stops from the Eiffel Tower. Within 2 stops, you can get a transfer to several other tram lines. Other items to note: The tram stop Dupleix has a weekly market and an antique market that comes and goes. It is actually a very good place to see French shopping locally. THere was a grocery store across the street, to the right. It is a small local chain that allows you to get many things you may need for some money saving items instead of eating out all the time. THe internet is kind of weird. Train next door stopped running during sleeping hours so did not disturb me. Didn't use Metro but super close if you chose to. Though you can hear almost everything on your floor, I had a street view room and had very little noise from the street, which is a rather busy one. The hotel is right on a major street and numerous restaurants of all kinds, including plenty with dinners under EUR 20, within a few blocks. Also plenty of banks, a few shops (clothing shop right next door), a couple small markets, and a street market on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nearby. Neighborhood also seemed pretty safe which probably has something to do with the nearby police station. Biggest compliment is to the staff who helped in several ways including getting us a ride to the train station. Biggest con, the layout is not really friendly to those with lots of luggage like us. This small hotel served it's purpose for me in that the bed was comfortable, the TV and shower worked, the room had a kettle, and it was only a short walk from a metro station. However, the cleanless of the room was left a bit to be desired. But there is the subway and taxi service very close if you choose to use them. Lots of really good restaurants close by and most accommodate the English language which was very helpful.
