"Dumpy, but clean and a great location."

I stayed at a room on the top floor. Overall everything looks 15 years older than the pictures on the website. The shower is not clean,but the size is good. The location for this hotel is perfect, within easy walking distance of everything you could want to see and do in the centre of Paris. There is also plenty of hot water to ease aching limbs. However there are a number of key limitations to the accommodation that it might be useful to be aware of: The fabric and design approach of the room is a throw […] back to 1970's bad taste, although this is all original, including the bed, blankets and sheets, rather than a retro nod to the era. There is a strong smell of cooking meat that comes from the Korean Bar-b-q next door and pervades the room like a cheap perfume. The soundproofing is limited to the extent that you can hear your neighbours use the bathroom, tromp up and down stairs and if you're particularly fortunate, practise the piano. All this is accompanied by the promise of 21st Century living with free WiFi that allows contact with the outside world at a speed that reminds you of the past when letter writing was a fast way to keep in touch. "Horrible service"
We arrived 1h earlier than the checkout time. We left the luggage at the trolley of the reception and left. When we arrived back at the hotel at 10 in the evening the luggage was still 1meter from the door! At every hotel I stayed they would put my luggage in my room once it was done so I had a big surprise this time, did not find it safe at all (even […] with cameras because it was too close to the door) I doubt they would run after someone and not always someone at the reception anyway! The room was nice and comfortable, however the bathroom was horrible. Very old including sink and small shower. No lift and 2 floors up the stairs. It actually said in my reservation that the room was sound proof however they put us next to a construction!! We came to Paris for an special event at night and were expected to wake up just before checkout but could not sleep from 8 in the morning because of the construction and at 10 they started banging on the door to wake us up!!! We did not ask for wake up call. We had our own alarms PLUS the noise from the construction. The men at the reception was the rudest person I ever met in Paris. I usually stay in Saint-Germain-des-Pres but the hotels I like were fully booked so I gave this one a chance. "Convenient Location"
This hotel was in a good location, close to the Metro which means that we had access to everywhere we wanted to go. There were lots of restaurants nearby and a supermarket just up the road. Our bedroom was facing a bar that didn't close till 5am so there was a bit of noise, but nothing too disturbing. The room was comfortable and had a good choice […] of TV channels, some of which were in English. The only problem I had with the room was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The toilet seat hadn't even been wiped before our arrival, and there were dried-in urine stains on it. Dommage, un problème d'évacuation a rendu inutilisable la salle d'eau (WC + douche) ruinant le charme pittoresque de cette chambre avec terrasse sur la cour intérieure. De plus, 3 lampes sur 6 ne fonctionnaient pas; mais la luminosité de l'écran TV HD faisait toutefois office de lampe de secours avec ses interruptions de son fréquentes sur une literie […] propre et de bonne qualité. Si la localisation de l'hôtel Renoir est de qualité (métro,restaurants, gares) à proximité, le lieu laisse à désirer. Les chambres sont petites à l'hygiène douteuse (tâches moquette, toiles d'araignée sur les rideaux). L'isolation est inexistante, on entend parfaitement les voisins de palier que ceux situés au-dessus. Ensuite, l'hôtel est situé face […] à un bar qui ferme à 5 heures du matin tous les jours ! et ouvre à 8 heures.Il est donc très bruyant, car les gens du bar fument dehors et cris toute la nuit. Enfin, la reception fut très peu aimable à notre arrivée, chambre non faite, carte qui se démagnétise ...... "Serviable mais tres mauvaise organisation"
Malgre la serviabilite, l'accueil a ete long (20min) car le receptioniste etait en manque de carte. Par ailleurs, la chambre reservee n'etait pas disponible pour raison inconnue, on nous a alors fait visiter 4 differentes chambres deja occupees pour nous proposer une chambre enfin vide avec lit double au lieu de twin !!! Le lendemain matin, notre receptioniste […] a essaye d'ouvrir la chambre pour verifier si elle etait libre alors que nous dormions...
