A beguiling mix of art and architecture, the revitalised Beaubourg and Marais districts are home to Paris’ Jewish community and a thriving gay scene. Attractions include the Pompidou Centre, Place des Vosges (Paris’ oldest square), the Picasso museum, Notre-Dame cathedral and bijou Ile-St-Louis. Stalls selling birds, flowers and books line the banks of the Seine. Village St-Paul is good for antique-hunting. The area is best explored on foot.

The entrance is tiny and the elevator much smaller. Don't bring much luggage. From cigarette burns in the blanket to crushed spots in the bathroom door, the physical room was rough. A feather pillow had feathers coming out. The staff required a 30 Euro deposit and would not give it back unless we had the receipt, even though we had not used the minibar […] or breakfast. We found the receipt at last. Day staff was unfriendly and hoping we didnt have the receipt. We found a better room for less at a Best Weastern that was European, more comfortable and well located. "awesome location..."
we were so close to all tourist attractions...the station for the metro line 1 that covers all the key attractions, was one block away. the rooms were small but that was expected given the price and the awesome location. i booked the hotel 4 months in advance and got a very cheap deal. i would stay there even in my next trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
