The location and neighborhood was fabulous. The brasserie across the street was perfect for a 9 euro breakfast so skip the overpriced one at the hotel. This is an historic residence now remodeled in a modern style mix. The low hanging lights in the lobby piano bar banged into your head when you moved, there was an open shower in the bath that left a […] dangerous amount of water on the entire floor of the bathroom and the in room computer needed battery change for both the keyboard and touch pad. They came up to replace but it was unsuccessful and just not worth the hassle of calling them back. The room was a nice size and bed comfy after we adjusted its position. One side was jammed against the wall for some unknown reason. We were only there one night so it was fine. The room was ready when we came in about 10 am but they would not let us go in until 3 pm unless we paid an additional 80 euros...we dropped out bags and went to a museum. The title says it all. Clearly NOT a 5 star hotel. Would not visit again. 1200 EUR for 3 nights excl. breakfast requires more than what the Hotel offer. The hotel manager (a lady) is not forthcoming and does not behave like you would expect from a 5 star property.

Hotel was generally quite good. Room was clean and nice. In room TV, wifi and computer (Apple TV) excellent. Only issues: "French" shower, which gets water all over the bathroom, and my room was in the annex, which meant I had to climb up and down a flight of stairs every time I went to my room, which was non-optimal.

Good: Awesome location. Staff extremely helpful, tried their best to converse in English and ensure our comfort. Allocated room, small but sufficient, and even though located close to elevator, was not subjected to unnecessary disturbances. The shower worked well and the hairdrier was of good quality. Wifi worked great anywhere in hotel even hours after we had checked out, which was a great help with confirming last minute logistics. Bad: Bed was pushed up against a wall allowing only one access which made for some interesting maneuvers at times. The (Apple) tv volume was too low, struggled with audibility the minute there was shuffling in the room or in our case, the movie we were watching, had whispering. A tiny cappuccino set us back €8, slightly outside our caffeine budget. Not worth the amount of money we pay for it. Carpet in our room was dirty and had stains on it. If you are more than 5ft 8in tall you cant stand up straight in the shower. It is not as close to attractions as they claim. The food and wine is delicious. Breakfast is an incredible bargain and offered many choices, but lunch and dinner are a bit pricey. My only regret about the neighborhood is that there are not as many restaurants as in other parts of the city, such as the Latin Quarter. Stayed here after President's Day wkd in Feb. Hotel is in great shape. Recently renovated in May 2011. (I wish hotels.com would add this renovation information to every hotel fact sheet. You get a brand new hotel for the price of other neighboring hotels.) Modern clean look with clean white and taupe palettes. We got a Deluxe Room (1 level above standard) […] was bigger than expected, especially for european standards which are markedly smaller than the US. Bathroom was upgraded very nicely and also a good comfortable space. One issue was that the door to the bathroom didn't close shut which was an oddity. We know there are still doing some minor construction work during the day...probably to fix things like this. Modern electronics. Flat screen Samsung TV with Apple TV included. They have a library of 30 movies that you can watch for free. There is also an ipod entertainment docking station near the bed. In terms of noise, the hotel is located on a quiet street so noise is not a concern for a good night's sleep. As I mentioned, there is some construction work being done to specific rooms but that's during the day. Not sure why you would be in your room in Paris, but in case that's your prerogative, just wanted to let you know. The doors are not sound protected, so I would be careful as a general rule to travelers not to get rooms situated right next to any elevator bank. This was our first time in Paris, so we were interested in seeing everything touristy. In terms of location, we were amazed at how centrally located this hotel is. The FDR metro stop is 1.5 blocks away. To the north, it's only a 3 block walk to the famous Champs-Elysees as well as Ave Montaigne and George V, which contain your typical high-end fashion stores. To the south, the Alexandre III bridge is a few blocks away to get views of Eiffel and access Invalides and Orsay museum. The Hotel is ideally located and the staff went out of the way to make me comfortable. The hotel is newly renovated and the new decor is lovely. The only complaints that I have is that the internet signal was weak in the room and the TV operates by the internet signal so I went a couple of nights without TV. This is a great hotel in a convenient location. The subway is at the end of the street and very easy to use. The hotel is just off the Champs-Elysees in the centre of Paris. The breakfast buffet is great but there is also a café across from the hotel where you could grab a coffee and croissant or a full breakfast for a better price. The staff is friendly […] and helpful. The concierge made a reservation for us at a very nice restaurant within walking distance. The room was clean and well stocked with robes, slippers, shampoos, hair dryer etc. and replenished every day. The room was modern, if a little small but we've stayed in smaller in Paris. There is a pleasant garden courtyard where one can eat, however we were there in September and it was a little chilly. The only things that could be added to the room to make it more convenient would be another mirror and black-out curtains. I would add a full length mirror in the corridor leading into the room. Excellent staff; ideally located, one or two blocks to Champs Elysees, Seine, Metro. 15 min walk to Eiffel tower, Louvre. Hotel interior was modernized to a quirky, humorous modern design. If you're looking for the classic Paris interior befitting of a building of this era you won't like it; otherwise its a neat place. Unfortunately some of the design […] materials used are not holding up to hotel type traffic and some of the public areas ("silver hallway" and elevators) look run down. This wasn't true of the room though. Room is ok for a couple on a short stay or a single person; its a bit small by North American standards but bigger than many other European capital rooms. Big drawback is the surprising lack of lighting in the room (contrary to bathroom which had halogen lighting). Bed was excellent as were linens. Twice daily maid service...room was very clean. Free Wi-Fi was slow and dead at times (they reset it a few times and it was ok) ...don't expect to do more than emails. Read more

I went with two other couples and their rooms were better than mine, even though we paid the same price. Mine was on the third floor and dark - inadequate lighting and darkly furnished, although immaculately clean. Rooms on the first and second looked as though they had been refurbished. Maybe they were working their way up! There was no kettle in the […] room to make the tea and coffee provided so I had to ask for one. Receptionists were very helpful, if a little dour. Although the location was very elegant, and we were surrounded by fashion houses, there was little locally in the way of normal French shops, boulangeries, patisseries, homeware. I prefer the St Germain des Pres area although this hotel is very convenient for the Grand Palais (at the end of the street), where we saw the excellent Monet exhibition and near the Seine where we took the Batobus. There is a good brasserie serving excellent breakfasts for 10-15 Euros at the Seine end of the rue Montaigne and some other good bars nearby (Theatre Bar - good croque monsieur). Read more

I have to say that the room service was the best we have had yet, not only did they get every order right every time but they were very quick too.
