TRYP Paris Francois Hotel

The primary reason to book this hotel is its excellent location (with a metro stop literally out the door) and its price (which is why we gave it a 4 for overall stay). If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place. The rooms are small and very basic which is typical of Paris. They are pretty clean with somewhat dated furniture and minimal closet/drawer […] space. If you are looking to be out most of the day touring and just need a clean place to crash each night in a trendy and good neighborhood (note: there are a lot of happening cafes etc. so it can be a bit noisy at night if you leave the windows open), then this is your place. It is impossible to find a room for 4 people in Paris so we had to go for 2 rooms with 2 queen beds in each. Rooms are really small but clean and new, modern lines. One room had even a tub one had standing shower (can not bend more than 30 degrees otherwise your behind will hit the faucet:). One minus for one of the rooms was that the front door was […] close to the door that is in the middle of the hall. Every morning, the slamming of the door started and would go on until you wake up for sure. Advice to the hotel managers: there are little things to install on those doors that make It impossible to slam loud those doors: do it! Front desk staff was absolutely helpful, giving us directions, advice and all.ocarion is great, there is metro right in front. Not being Parisian, we did not require coats, scarves and gloves during our stay as the locals did. That being said the fact that there was no air conditioning lead to uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Apparently in Paris it is either air or heat for everyone in the hotel, no individual choice. In general, it was a good hotel, great location, just out of the "Grand Boulevards" metro station, which connects you to most hot spots. You can also walk to the famous Lafayette gallery. I wasn't impressed with my room though, it was tiny, but that's what you get when you stay downtown Paris. there was molds in my room, and few cracks on the ceiling. […] Also I was disappointed they don't have Irons in rooms. when I called them they say they will send me one, but never did. Upon arrival, our standard room was small and unbearably warm. The staff was unable to address the temperature issue so we upgraded and received a larger room with a terrific view of the boulevard. The room had large doors that we could open to make the room cooler. However, we were awakened every night between 3 to 4 a.m. by street noise. This hotel is in a good location especially since we had hop-on hop-off tickets for L'Open Bus Tour. We had a street view so our room had a little balcony which was nice. The elevator is the smallest elevator I have been in outside of Egypt. Overall a good hotel for the price we paid.

First the staff was extremely friendly and helpful but the room was NOTHING like what it showed on your web site or pictures they had of room in the Lobby. Our room was so tiny that we had to back into it and luggage would not even fit flat on the floor. It happened to be very warm while we were there and even though air conditioning was advertised […] we did not have it and got very little breeze from the one window in the room. Also when the window was open which had to be most of the time the stench of pidgeon droppings was horrible. There was a window in the bathroom but it would not shut so we got to flash all our neighbors (no screens on windows). It was in a convenient location to the metro (right outside the door). This hotel is a really good place to stay in central Paris if you are on a budget. Everywhere you might want to visit is walkable. The room is comfortable. The shower was great - hot and powerful. The TRYP Hotel in Paris was very clean and updated. All the amenities were present. My room was very small, but clean and tastefully decorated. The windows opened on the first floor to an HVAC unit and surrounded by other buildings. Out of the three rooms I saw at the TRYP mine was the smallest by far. My fellow travelers' rooms were spacious by comparison […] and had views on to the street below. The 5th floor had a very damp mouldy smell as did the room but once doors and windows were opened the smell was not quite so bad. This is a Nice hotel in a great location, the nearest metro station being situated perhaps 100 yards from the hotel, there are some nice bars/cafes/restaurants around the hotel, very easy to walk to the Louvre and to get to main shopping areas. Great location, great room and great price. Took 2 rooms at the hotel for a long weekend, and although they were smoking rooms- I couldn't fault them. They overlooked the street, bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable. One thing to note though- the rooms were literally the floor above "O'Sullivans Irish Pub"- this didn't bother us as we were out […] until around 4 in the morning, but the club doesn't shut until around 5ish on weekends- so this might be a problem for some travellers as the noise is quite noticeable. Good location, clean and comfortable room. We took the Roissy bus from the airport as suggested by another reviewer, it's a bit of a walk from Opera to the hotel (and a little hard to find the right street), I would take a taxi if you have luggage or a bad sense of direction. It was very noisy at night. People screaming and partying all night long, […] especially Friday and Saturday nights. We asked for a room that wasn't on the street side of the hotel, but they were fully booked. Luckily we brought earplugs, that helped a little. Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, had read that it wasn't worth it. Probably smart to find some restaurants in the area on Google that have gotten good reviews, there are a lot of places to eat, but not all of them are good. This hotel experience was oretty bad. No wireless and the price was extortionary. Got to room and it smelled like urine from the air conditioner. (I hope) Turned back the sheets and there was hair. The carpet was filthy. The paint was filthy and the molding looked as bad the metro. The bed felt like every spring or coil has been worn significantly past it's lifetime. Had to open the windows at the same time as the air conditioning because the smell was often untolerable.
