Historically the academic and liberal centre of Paris, the Latin Quarter is known for its cobblestone pedestrian streets and La Sorbonne University. Neighbourhoods include the cinemas and bookshops of Place St-Michel, the chic shops and cafés of St-Germain-des-Près, the market street of rue Mouffetard, and the gardens of Luxembourg and Jardin des Plantes.

the room was small but very nice and comfortable. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. One evening the front desk clerk gave me his umbrella to use because it was raining. The property was squeeky clean and breakfast was very good. The location was within the shadow of Notra Dame and within steps of Metro.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"so close to notre dame"
great hotel, small rooms. The staff was very friendly and they made sure we were very comfortable. They set up a great baby crib for our 2yr old.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small But Very Pleasant"
The location is great. The hotel is only a few blocks away from Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, The Louvre, and other great places in Paris. The hotel, the reception area, the room, the staircase are all very small but the decor is very modern and sophisticated. Everything is super clean. The room has everything for a tired tourist. Internet connection […] is good and free, There is a good grocery store across the street which is open 7 days a week. Two other great attractions on the block are the bakery and the wine store. We are looking forward to visiting again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Experience"
The hotel is close to the Metro where you can get anywhere quickly. The Pantheon is a few blocks in one direction and Notre Dame is about the same distance away in the other direction. There are markets and pasterie shops a block away and lots of restaurants. Be sure to walk the alleyways around St. Severin where small restaurants crowd into the streets. […] Ask for a room that's not on St. Germaine if you want a quieter experience. The elevator is small, so go for the second or third floor. The 5th floor is a hike. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size with a tub/shower combo. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was almost too cool and couldn't be adjusted. Would stay there again. "Abbatial St. Germain hotel in Paris"
A cozy, vintage Paris hotel with personality. Within easy walking distance of many Paris "must see" sites and eateries. Clean and comfortable, we would definitely recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Value Stay in Great Location"
This hotel offers all that a traveler needs who is looking for a convenient location where the city bustle of Paris is just outside your door (and windows too - if that bothers you, be warned, but for me, it was fine). The rooms are decent sized for Paris, not large, but adequate and the decor is a bit faded but stylish enough. Very clean rooms and […] bathrooms, great shower/water pressure. Beds were a bit hard (we had two rooms, same situation for each). For the pleasure traveler looking to be in the happening Latin Quarter and 5 minutes from Notre Dame, it's location can't be beat. Only met one staff person. She was professional and helped when asked but did not go out of her way to offer maps, answer questions, etc. Felt very safe and great view out window. Breakfast was extra so we skipped it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No space, but no problems"
My first stay at a hotel in Paris, but I'd heard that the norm is small rooms - that's certainly true here. On the other hand, it works fine if you're planning on being out and about most of the time (which is why you went to Paris, after all). Staff was friendly. Beds comfortable. TV tiny. In room safe handy. We didn't haqve any problem with street […] noise, perhaps because we were on the side street side of the building. Good location - two block walk to nearest metro station, four to Notre Dame, about a mile to the Louvre. Neighborhood has a nice busy vibe, not too touristy. Before going I read conflicting reports about the breakfast at the hotel. We ate there three mornings out of six. It's convenient and fast (self-serve), food is OK and it's all you can eat. Scrambled eggs, croissants & bread, cheese, yogurt, cold cereal, juice, coffee/tea/hot chocolat. On the other hand, you can get a petit dejuener outside for a few Euros less, but less food and less convenience. Speaking of food, there are restaurants all over the neighborhood for other meals, most with menus that have English translation. A word a lesson I learned the hard way: before you exchange money at one of the "Change" establishments on the street, ask them exactly how many Euros you will get for your dollars. I stopped at one place because of the great rate advertised in the window, and discovered too late that they hadn't mentioned a 12% commission on the exchange. If you're going to a lot of museums and other attractions, buy the 2/4/6 day museum pass (at the airport or many other locations); it saves money and most places you only have to stand in one line per site rather than two. "Consistent and conveniente"
This was our second stay at Hotel Abbatial. Even though 5 years have passed since our first visit, everything was as we remembered it, which is rare these days. The desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked nicely. The location is great for us, easy walk to many important locations in Paris as well as shopping […] and the wonderful Erik Kayser boulangerie/pâtisserie just a short block away!
