"Novotel Paris--lower your expectations"
The staff was amazing, the three restaurants on site were great, the overall accommodations were just ok, and I personally would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The Novotel is a very large hotel that caters to business groups and other large tour groups. As described on hotels.com, the location is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, but once you see that area transportation is needed to get to most any of the other sites in Paris. And forget about any night life, nice places to stroll, or cool places to sit and watch the world go by. As I said before, the neighborhood is not scenic and does not attract interesting nightlife. A seasoned tourist of Paris would probably already know this about the location, but this trip was my first visit. So, if you are one who likes quaint neighborhood choices for dining, strolling, and hanging--that are close to your hotel--this hotel is not for you. this Hotel an excellent location if you are a walker , or especially a runner , as it is on the Seine , a 10 minute walk from the eiffel tower , a half hour walk to the arc de triomphe , an hour to the louvre . This hotel is about 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower on the River Seine. The breakfast was expensive - 18 euros for buffet so we chose to use some of the cafes in nearby Place Charles Michael. Hotel has upgraded our room to suite and we are very happy on the room quality with good view. Nice location that only take about 15 min to Tour Eiffel, and 10min to the closest train station. A supermarket is just located downstair, so we can buy what we want before 10pm. No free wifi at room, we can only use speed-limited RJ45 cable to connect […] notebook into the internet. Når vi bestilte hotellet framsto det som lukseriøst og nytt. Vi skulle unne oss litt ekstra på denne turen og betalte litt mer for å få bedre standard. Skuffelsen var ganske stor da vi kom til et slitt og gammelt hotel hvor safen på rommet var ødelagt og sofa, golvteppe og sengetøy var slitt. Minibaren var borte og servicen dårlig. The exterior of the hotel is simply disgusting, but never mind the exterior - the interior is great, nice and clean. We stayed for 2 nights in a superior room and the quality i fine - on the 25. fifth floor the view i great. Everything worked fine. The staff was helpfull and nice. The position of the hotel i 1 km. from "the Tower" and close to metro […] "champs de mars". Be aware that you have to pay all to much for the using the gym, and that is a HUGE minus. Ligger perfekt i distrikt 15, kort gå afstand til Eiffeltårnet, Triumfbuen, Pariserhjulet. og Champs-Elysées med hyggelige restauranter og caféer. Var lidt skuffet over rummet/værelset ikke var større. Men der var pænt og rent´, som det vigtigste. Morgenmaden var ok, bortset fra at de kogte æg var helt kolde, og baconén var blød. "Fint hotell, men litt usentralt"
Hotellet var fint og moderne og standarden på rommet var helt ok. Vi bodde i 5 etg. og så rett inn i en murvegg! Det var litt synd for utsikten høyere opp er nok adskillig bedre. Hotellet ligger ca 15 min gange fra Eiffeltårnet, men ligger likevel litt usentralt. Det er langt å gå til kollektiv transport alle veier. Og det er lite restauranter og butikker […] i nærheten!
