we booked 5 months ahead of our trip. The previous year we had stayed at the hotel in a suite room for 6 nights. We also had booked a second separate room for our friend that was travelling with us. This trip we had specifically requested for a suite room facing the street side instead of the boring courtyard side which we were given last year. My wife […] had telephone and e-mailed the hotel for this request about 7 times and each time they kept giving us the runaround and not a straight answer if we could get the aspect we wanted. Basically, they said we had to just ask the staff when we arrive and if available they will give us a room on the street side. As expected when we arrived, we were given a suite room with the worst possible aspect looking at the service roof of the hotel air-con. Then they give us some excuse that the rooms we wanted was already full that particular day. Needless to say, we won't be back to Plaza Athenee next year, instead we will be staying with one of the other leading hotels in Paris.
