"Great Hotel for the Price"
I was very impressed with the hotel. It was well-designed, beautifully decorated with very spacious and clean rooms. They provide shuttle service to and from the airport, as well as to the city center of Madrid, which was the main reason why we chose to book this hotel. The staff was exceptional, though I only have one complaint. The times for the shuttle […] service to and from the city center were not very convenient, and you had to book your space in advance. We were told that the 8:45 pm shuttle was booked, leaving us no other option but to book the 12:45 am shuttle. After several hours in Madrid, we were ready to leave earlier so we thought that we would try our luck with the 8:45 pm shuttle, offering to stand on the bus if necessary. We arrived at the bus stop at 8:30 and waited until 9 pm. I then called the hotel to ask if the shuttle was running late. I was told that the time was 7:45, not 8:45. When we checked in, we were clearly told that the shuttle was for 8:45. Not wanting to hang around for 4 more hours, we found an airport express bus. The ride was only 5 euro each, so we took that to the airport and then called the hotel and had the shuttle pick us up from there. The bottom line is that the hotel should have at least 2 shuttle buses - one for the airport and one for the city, especially since it's far off of the Metro line. The location doesn't matter too much since the Underground is not very far and is just a 10min bus ride away. The room rates were good and the stay was worth the money. "Great for transit stay, poor for more than a day"
The hotel is very close to the airport but took us 50 minutes of walk, bus, and metro ride to the center of Madrid. The receptionist told us that the hotel has a policy of not taking the guests to the Baja airport to catch any transporation service to the city center when they are not leaving Madrid, even if the shuttle driver drives to the airport […] with an empty van to pick up the new guests. The room is very large, nice, and generally quiet if you ask for a room away from the adjacent freeway. The restaurant food is poor and the fixed price menu advertized through out the hotel is only available from Monday to Friday. "this is the most uncarringhotel employess i found"
if i could rate this hotel on service, i would give them negative 4 stars. otherwise it is very nice airport hotel at queit location. very nice room, first comfortable bed in Spain, pretty clean. but this is where it ends. this is strangely designed hotel with front entrance that difficult to find. signs would help but i saw none. somehow i found carpark […] entrance and rang the bell (i did not have a car). nobody explained that that was not entrance or offered help in finding entrance. when checking in i asked for a shuttle next morning, i was told to arrive 3 hours prior andwas told to take 5 am shuttle. when i arrive at airport, airlines do not start cheking in untill 2 hours prior to international fleight. I would hope airport hotel should be aware of that. i later decided to take later shuttle at my own risk but was told that 6 am shuttle was full. shuttle is small, may be they keep it open for regulars. i asked if i can use my toll free calling card free of charge in my room. i was told that i will be charged 1 euro per minute and was tokd to lok for pay phone on a street if i did not not wanted to pay for hotel charges. later i found out that it was not true. i made phone calls using my phone card and was not charged. but worst thing happened when i went to reception area and said that i was not feeling well and needed a doctor. i was told that they can't help me and if i am not well i need to go to hospital. this is not what i expect from 4 star hotel. The hotel is one of the cleanest and user friendly hotels in Spain. The only thing is the bus drops you off about 300 yards away and you have to lug your luggage to the front.
