In northern Madrid, Chamartín train station is the second-largest after Atocha. This is mainly a business district although the residential area south of it contains plush low-rise apartment blocks and houses. At the circular Plaza de Castilla, next to the bus station, loom the two iconic black leaning towers called the Puerta de Europa.

"Great Hotel, but not close to anything"
Hotel was wonderful...it even has heated floors in the bathroom, which I'd never seen before! So, it's definitely 5-star. It's a typical bussiness hotel. No pool, but free internet. Parking in garage. 100 m from the subway station. Easy to reach the airport or city center. "Keep away from Downtown!"
I love this hotel for bussiness trips. It is quite new and nearby (20 minutes) from Barajas Airport. I ussually stay at downtown but this time I wanted stay away of the noisy downtown. I stayed in this hotel 3 times. I think this will be my hotel-of-choice in Madrid for any future trip ! First of all the hotel is located in a huge tower ! So you are guaranteed an amazing view ! I think it is brand new because everything there sparkles ! the rooms are big compared to the European standards! the amenities in the bathroom are amazing […] ! the room service is prompt ! the frontdesk are friendly and go out of their way to help you. the only drawback is the location which is a bit far from the center of the city, but who cares ! the metro is right there and I always take taxis which costs something like 5-7 EUROs .. if you are concerned about the Airport, this hotel is closer to it and you are not going to worry about the traffic ! Hotel was upscale and well appointed. mostly a business hotel so was very quiet at the weekend. surrounding area was pretty quiet but metro station 3 minutes walk made the rest of Madrid very accessible. not a good area for bars and restaurants and food / drink at the hotel VERY expensive. It's a metro ride to centre of Madrid and metro stop is just a few mins walk from hotel. Location is the only real negative, but it's only 30 min journey so not not really a major issue. The hotel is faultless, but food and drinks are very expensive! We wanted to eat out so not really a problem. We did pay 7 euros for a jug of milk to replace the powdered […] milked provided with the tea and coffee faciliities in our room - I don't expect powdered milk in 5 star hotel! Gym is very basic but adequate and there's a park adjacent to hotel which was good for running. However, overall this is a great hotel and we had a very good deal which offered exceptional value for money. This Hotel is fantastic with a level of service you usually only get in the Far East. I would stay here again without hesitation. The restrauant and bar are expensive but it is an award winning restaurant and so the prices reflect its excellence. If I had t be picky I would say the it would be nice to have a couple of english channels on the TV and […] not just CNN and BBC world News and perhaps a movie channel. it is in the Business district in an iconic building so a short tube ride from the centre of town but that is a small price to pay given its standard. Hotel is great but the problem was with the bathrooms. The shower gave an unpleasant odour. The high tech lighting meant you had to fumble about to get to the bathroom otherwise all the lights come on in the bedroom. VERY nice hotel, but very expensive. Following parking fees and breakfast, this added up to the same cost of the room, which was excessive. I forgot my sweater there and when I phoned them to ask about it, they said they had it, so I asked them to mail it.
