Musicals, hotels, shops and restaurants make the Gran Via a rich vein of entertainment, finishing in the east with the black dome of the Metropolis building. The heart of Madrid, the Puerta del Sol contains the statue of the symbolic bear of Madrid and Tio Pepe sherry sign. Westwards, the grand Plaza Mayor was once the site of inquisitions and executions, but is now mostly visited for its terrace cafes.

Well I thought the rooms were slightly dated, but the rooms are spacious clean had climate control and offered every amenity we could think of, which can be quite unusual for a European hotel. I would stay here again when visiting Madrid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A quiet little gem"
We had read the favorable reviews and they were all true. The location was perfect, both near all we wanted to see but also tucked off on a smaller street so that it was not noisy. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the room and bathroom were comfortable and lovely. We would go back for sure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean, comfortable, and convenient stay at CLC!"
I was very fortunate to stumble onto this hotel when I accidentally chose the wrong dates at my original choice hotel. I was stranded b/c my original hotel was fully booked for the next 2 days until my reservation, and ended up staying at Catalonia Las Cortes because it was only hotel in the vicinity that wasn't fully booked. What a great mistake that […] turned out to be! I loved my stay at CLC, and when I'm in Madrid again, I will definitely reserve there. Clean room, great service (receptionists spoke English!), and in a great location (about a 1min walk from Plaza Santa Ana, which has many great dining options, especially Tapas, and a 5min walk from Puerta Del Sol). "Catalonia - quietly set in the heart of the action"
The hotel is fabulously located - on a quiet street but very close to all the main attractions. The hotel itself is perfectly nice - nothing fancy but cleam and well run.
