We arrived at Hotel Meninas on a layover with three suitcases. First problem was the six steps leading up to the lobby. There was no one to help with the bags, and had to drag them up the steps. I had booked a junior suite, and it was spacious and a nice modern bathroom, but otherwise basic. The windows in the hotel are old single pane glass. You can […] hear everything outside. About 2:30 AM there were men dragging barrels drown the street, then people fighting, car horns blowing, on and on. We got no sleep. The following morning when I complained the guy at the front desk laughed, and didn't even apologize. We felt shattered after no sleep, and had to then get on an a 11 hour flight. Stay away!
