Out east, the magnificent new Terminal 4 at Barajas Airport is the largest in the world. All terminals are accessible by metro (pink line 8), shuttle bus, taxi or the 200 or 204 buses from Avenida de América. IFEMA, also known as Feria de Madrid, is a large modern exhibition space for trade shows, with several hotels and restaurants opposite.

"Best Western Hotel Villa De Barajas"
This is a hotel that is minutes away from the Madrid airport. It was quite and I did not hear any planes flying over. It has a shuttle to the airport which is very convenient . The room was small, but adequate and clean. For a lay over this is a good bet and it was not expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was ok, very tiny, but the van to the airport was the plus. Breakfast included was good. The area had some little cafes and shops so we were able to walk out and find something to eat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The only good thing was the service to the airport"
5 steps to get to the lobby, with no ramp or help for luggage. Room so small you have to squeeze into the desk chair since there was no room between it and the bed. No hot water during the first 24 hs of our stay. After a bad breakfast nothing but a vendor machine, no even a cup of tea available. I wish we new the hotel offered a shuttle service from the airport. Spent 16 euros unnecessary taking a taxi to the hotel. Great to have the service back to the airport the next morning. "Perfect for travelers!"
If you are on a stop-over going through the Madrid Airport, this is the hotel. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and the drivers even carry your bags. The counter staff are exceptionally nice. When we bought a bottle of wine, one even ran to the store to buy an opener for us to use during our stay. We had a nice enclosed balcony overlooking a tree-lined […] street. There were a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Our room was immaculate. The breakfast was unbelievable, as good as any we have had over here or in the USA. We recommend this hotel and plan to use it ourselves in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great airport hotel"
Great place to stay the night when you have a layover in Madrid - the restaurant across the street is good and the wifi from the hotel reaches to their patio. Airport shuttle was great but you must call them from the airport to pick you up. Ask to have the breakfast buffet included when you book on line.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel, poor shuttle service"
LOVED the hotel; small, clean, comfortable, with a great shower. Great location in nice residential neighborhood a few blocks from a metro stop. I had problems with hotel pick-up; you must call the hotel for pick up, yet there is no phone at the airport to make the call. A stranger was kind enough to make the call for me. "Great hotel for an overnight stay in Madrid"
Hotel Best Western in Barajas was a great place to stay if you only have a short time in Madrid. Shuttle bus drivers were courteous and reliable. Breakfast buffet was tasty and plentiful. Staff were most helpful and accommodating. Close to airport and a short ride to catch your flight.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great for the airport"
Rooms are small, if not tiny, but there are a lot of design qualities to make the space efficient as possible. The big discrepancies in the ratings are likely due to whether or not you have a balcony. We had a balcony with windows and sliding shades. Without the balcony the room would have felt very claustrophobic. When booking ask for a balcony.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good experience at the Barajas Best Western"
The desk personnel were very good. One person gave me excellent directions, with a Metro map, for getting into the central city. It was also nice to have a shuttle service. And the breakfast was excellent with great variety and very fresh pastries.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great people, great service"
The free airport shuttle was really great and the driver was WONDERFUL! They were already at the terminal when I called and the ride only takes about 20 minutes. I took the shuttle from and to the airport and was along both times, so the shuttle didn't have to stop at any other terminals. The hotel staff were also really helpful and nice. Everyone […] spoke English very well too, which was great because my Spanish is rusty at best. For anyone with a layover or only staying a few days in Madrid, I would definitely recommend this hotel. The Metro stop is literally 2-3 blocks from the hotel. It takes about 1 hour with changes (I had to wait a few minutes for some of my trains) from the Barajas Metro stop to Puerta del Sol in the city center, but the Madrid Metro lines are incredibly clean, efficient and timely. My room was relatively quiet--there was a dog that barked for a little during the night and they are far from soundproof. I could hear people closing the doors around the hall. But it was nothing ridiculous or irritating. This is not a luxury hotel, but the location and free services--free airport shuttle and WiFi (which in Europe, I have found, is not always guaranteed or available)--as well as the staff make this hotel what it is. "Comfy bed, free shuttle & wifi..."
I liked my overnight here. It's quirky but not charmless. Called for a complimentary pickup from the roadway just outside MAD Term 2 using my mobile (Americans: make sure your phone is enabled for intl calling BEFORE you depart the U.S.). There's signage with a few dozen hotel numbers including Best Western Hotel Villa De Barajas. Remember you'll need […] to dial the country code "+34" in front of the rest of the number. A van was dispatched and arrived quickly. The check-in counter inside the tiny reception area feels rather like a car rental kiosk. Check-in was quick and my questions were answered efficiently. I found the room to be smallish but very clean and the bed firm, as I desire. The bathroom, also small, was nevertheless a standout: spotlessly clean, modern and with good shower water pressure. There were a few English-speaking tv channels, as I recall, but when I landed on CNBC Intl (financial news) my wish had come true. I had takeout from the Chinese restaurant across the road, pretty good. Overhead halogen lights above the bed in Rm 204 could possibly sear your retinas. I didn't have breakfast in the room adjacent to the lobby but complimentary freshly brewed coffee dispensed from the machine in the bar was excellent. I'd stay again. "great experience"
I booked this room because it was close to the Madrid Airport and had free shuttle service to and from the airport. When I called to say we had landed and needed service, they were there in 10 minutes. Leaving the next morning, the shuttle ran every half hour so we were easily able to get our ride at several different times depending on how our morning […] went. The driver was pleasant and spoke English, even pointing out where the subway was if we wanted to go downtown. The gentlemen at the desk was also very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in the price. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for a short stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Western Airport Madrid"
I don't know who wrote the other reviews, but other than being close to the airport, this hotel was terrible! The room was tiny and noisy, the staff very rude, and the internet hardly worked. Even though they have a free shuttle TO the airport, I had to take a cab to the hotel, which was a five minute drive that they charged me 12 Euros for! What a […] ripoff of a hotel. "Won't stay here again"
Booked it for the free shuttle. When I landed, I called the lobby to arrange pickup, and they said they don't do the free shuttle anymore. So I rented a car, and checked in, right about the time the shuttle pulled up. ??? Could have been a language barrier, either way, i was frustrated. Then I got to my room, and my closet at home is bigger....no seriously. […] the bed takes up so much space, you can't walk on the side of the bed without turning sideways, and it's a double bed, not a queen. Lastly, the wifi is only so so. May be my room location, but would only work at the desk, if I moved the desk toward the door, into the hallway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Never Again!"
We used this for an overnight layover, so convenience was at a premium. They never sent the shuttle in response to our call. After an hour wait we took a cab (only because our reservation was prepaid). The desk guy waved a hand and said "Yes, sorry about the mixup". No explanation, no apology, no compensation. The next morning we were in the lobby in […] plenty of time for the shuttle, only to be bumped by what appeared to be a later arrival. My ensuing hissy fit resulted in the almost comically fast appearance of another van and a quick trip to the airport. However, having to throw a temper tantrum for decent service is unacceptable. "Great location and nice staff"
Great location near the airport and metro station. They have free airport shuttle. Cozy, clean and easygoing staff. They were flexible with my luggage and other requests. Airport shuttle works from 6 am to midnight and taxi cost about 20 euros to the airport. I took a wrong shuttle Best Western Atlantic that cost me about 2 hours and 16 euros. I guess […] the driver knew about my mistake before boarding and decided to take advantage out of it. Another mistake I made was not including breakfast with the room reservation as it is much more expensive when you pay on the spot. I paid 21 euros for two people for one breakfast while I had the option to pay only $7 extra per day to include breakfast with the room. One last thing, beds were not stable on the floor. When I sit and lean on the wall, I find the bed moving under me. I reported that to the front desk and they said they would take care of it. I would definitely go back to stay in that hotel. "Great Madrid Connection to Airport"
Because of an early flight out of Madrid, we chose this hotel. It was actually a very pleasant surprise - comfortable, modern, close to a Metro stop, plus a free shuttle to the airport in the morning. In retrospect, I wish we had spent more than one night in this hotel. The marble walls and floor in the bathroom were exceptional, the beds were comfy, […] the staff was helpful, the hotel was modern inside but felt cosey. It is a little distance from the center of Madrid (about half hour via metro) but would be nice when flying in or out of the city. We both felt like rather than staying a few hours outside of Madrid the previous night, that we should have come into Madrid a day sooner to stay here. It was just a night and easy place to stay at the end of a very enjoyable 2-week trip through Spain and Portugal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is not in the best neighborhood. If you would like an airport hotel, then this is good. If you want to visit Madrid city center and touristic areas, it is far. It is two minutes walk from Metro station( which is convenient for traveling purposes). For visiting Madrid, it is not very convenient because you need to take three train lines to […] get t the center of the city. The entrance is small and simple, but the rooms are really nice and very clean. All in all, it is good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"What you see is what you get"
Straightforward hotel, conveniently close to the Barajas Metro stop (one stop away from both airport stops). Wireless worked well in room (free). When I was leaving the airport shuttle left without warning, or didn't stop. In any case, it was gone, even though I was checking out 2 meters from the stop. Be sure to ask the hotel clerk to tell you when […] the shuttle is there. However, the metro is so close that it is no problem getting to the airport (2 Euros).
