South of the centre, Atocha is Madrid’s largest train station with fast trains to Andalusia and, more surprisingly, tropical gardens (with a pleasant café) in the old terminal building. The Museum of Anthropology is opposite and, over the Ronda de Atocha, the Reina Sofia art museum has benefited enormously from a bold, modern expansion. Nearby, Teatro Circo Price is a traditional circus and ideal for children.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel does not deserve more than two stars. To begin with, when we checked in, there was nothing to wash with. After a request for soap, we were give two extra containers of shampoo, and two containers of shower gel, which is not very convenient to wash hands. One of the pillows was smelly, nothing bad, an obnoxious […] perfume most likely, but still very unpleasant to use. But the worst thing was the noise. We could hear people on the floor above walking, people behind the wall using their bathroom, trucks on the street - as though the entire hotel was build of cardboard. "Noisy, No wi fi, nothing is complimentary"
1. 1 bed that is made out of 2 beds. They can be separated with a push of a finger. 2. mini bar is not free 3. you have to pay for wifi in basic rooms if you are a tourist, you need a wifi. 4. if you are sensitive to noise. NOT A PLACE TO SLEEP. We were unsensitive to noise so it was alright. 5. There is a club next to hotel. Bunch of people hanging […] out until 6:00 AM in the morning. (we stayed during week days) 6. "Pricey internet and air conditioning not cool enough"
The AC Carlton Madrid is a very nice hotel in a convenient location, close to the Atocha station and the Reina Sofía Musuem. The room and bathroom are nicely decorated. However, the air conditioning is not cool enough and from previous experience at AC hotels, they don't allow the temperature to be as cool as you would like, so no matter how low you […] put it, it's merely cool. Not acceptable. And the internet connection, in the days we live in, should always be complimentary. Here it costs almost 18 euros por a 24-hour period, which is absolutely outrageous. For those of us who work through the internet, it's unacceptable. Free internet in the lobby is not good enough.
