The Gran Versalles Hotel, Madrid, is a modern hotel located between Plaza Alonso Martinez and Plaza Colón, in a 19th century-style district featuring many restaurants and entertainment venues and near the metro and shopping.

Meals can be taken in the informal hotel restaurant, serving a range of international cuisine and Madrid specialties, and the hotel also has a bar. The large, airy meeting room of the Gran Versalles lit with recessed ceiling lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows, houses large paintings, couches, and mirrored central columns.

Restaurant Versalles - Open daily for buffet breakfast, and an à la carte lunch and dinner menu. Dishes are typically Spanish and include Iberian Ham, Cod Steak with Peppers, and Crème Caramel. Bright modern decor with dark wood furnishings and tables set with linen.
Café Luxemburgo - Bright informal bar with large TV, serving coffees, drinks, aperitifs, tapas snacks and sandwiches all day. Adjacent to the lobby.
Madrid's leafy Retiro Park (1.5 kilometres away) has a large boating lake, tracks for jogging, roller skating and cycling, boules pitches, and a sports centre with tennis courts and football pitches.

"Far from all site seeing..."
Not a convenient spot for restaurants, food at their snack bar is not palatable. Due to the distance and all the lazy people who close shop at the tourist dinner hours and open for business after 10 pm is not a prime place to stay. "Clean , Safe"

Convenient location close to metro and the wonderful neighborhood of Chueca. I arrived and the lobby stank of recent cigarettes. The man behind the desk was not very friendly. When I asked how much the breakfast was, his response was "you didnt pay for it"...well that's why I asked?! Got to the room, decent size. This hotel is very central and right off of the metro. The staff was polite. The best thing about this hotel was that we stayed on the 5th floor and it was quiet. Is a hotel veru well located near one of the most beautiful squares in Madrid, Alonso Martinez, and at walking distance from the center. My daughter and I has an excellent time. The hotel doesn't have porters but reception staff are only to happy to help with luggage. "Gran Versalles Sep 2011"
Gran Varsalles was not the chosen Hotel but recommended by Hotel.com support when our first choice was not available. It was comforting when we arrived to find 2 excellent rooms and and very helpful staff although our Spanish was limited they were able to help with all our questions. Additional nice extras were the bathroom stock of small accessories […] eg: Razor, toothpaste, cotton buds. Location was excellent for ourselves as it appears to be in the commercial area of Madrid and it felt very safe at night with lots of people about. The tourist and shopping areas would have been too noisey at night. Room safe worked without any problems and a well stocked room bar. The only bitter taste was that on leaving I was charged for a Madrid phone call which I had attempted to make but received no answer. This seems to be getting a very common practice with London Hotels also that you pay for picking up the phone and dialing. However, this was only a small amount and because of the excellent service was not an issue I wanted to persue. Me gusto mucho, quiza el inconveniente es que la habitación es un poco pequeña pero limpia y con baño propio y agua caliente. Es un hotel con muy buena ubicación. Lo mejor es que a 400 metros aproximadamente tiene un negocio […] de lavanderia donde uno puede lavar su ropa en lavadoras que uno deposita dinero. Dit hotel is goed gelegen, niet te ver van het centrum, dicht bij twee metrohaltes (5 metrolijnen). De inrichting is misschien wat ouderwets, doch de bediening en gastvrijheid is fantastich. Het ontbijt is net als alle andere opties vrijblijvend en er wordt nergens het gevoel gecreëerd dat het niet gepast is om hiervan geen gebruik te maken. Vlak bij […] het hotel zijn enkele andere eetgelegenheden waar er een beperkter (en dus goedkoper) ontbijt genuttigd kan worden. Ik had het twijfelachtige genoegen op de metro kennis te maken met zakenrollers die me mijn portefeuille ontfutselde en de bediening van het hotel heeft mij perfect geholpen alles terug in orde te krijgen. Dankzij een kordaat optreden van de 'geheime' metro politie mocht ik zelfs de portefeuille in questi inclusief de volledige inhoud (oa. 230€ cash) binnen de 3u terug ontvangen.
