The Hotel Duquesa de Cardona is a 16th century hotel located in the center of Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter, only 100 meters from the cafes of Las Ramblas. Numerous cafes, bars, and attractions, such as the Picasso Museum, the Sagrada Familia, Marina, and Catalunya Square can be found within 3 kilometers. Barcelona Airport is approximately 10 kilometers and a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel's nearest metro station is Drassanes, on the green line.

In the Restaurant La Duquesa, guests can sample Catalan and international dishes and wines in an intimate dining room with original 1850s features. The room has columns and arched high ceilings, long windows, and tiled floors with contemporary décor and furnishings in warm colors. During the day, guests can swim in the small outdoor pool on the roof terrace, or simply sunbathe with a drink from the roof terrace bar.
Relaxing massage treatments are also on offer and guests can take advantage of 24-hour room service. Brisa del Mar Terrace - During summer months, tapas and barbecue are offered on the Brisa del Mar terrace. Guests can choose from a wide variety of cocktails, and enjoy a view of the port while sipping their drink.
Restaurant La Duquesa - Live music every Friday and Saturday evening from October 2010. Open Wednesday through Saturday.
During the summer months, The Piano Has Been Drinking Jazz Trio plays from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM every Monday. Dinner is available during the performance.
Opposite the Old Port and a 10-minute walk from Barcelona's Olympic Port and Beaches, the hotel offers easy access to aquatic activities.

We were very impressed the moment we walked into the lobby. Most of the staff spoke english and were very helpful with directions to the local sites of intrest. I really splurged for a night at this hotel for my sister and I because of all the glowing reviews. I didn't expect a large room in a city hotel, but ours was tiny. And being on the interior court of the builiding, it was also very, very dark. Given that we had to get up early in the morning to return to the US, we thought we'd be fine with that expecting […] a quiet night away from the street. Unfortunately the music from the bar on the roof-top terrace echoed down the interior shaft of the building until 3 or so in the morning (our wake-up call was for 5:30) There was also heavy bass coming from a disco or a party in the building next door, so no sleep was to be had. The hotel was ideally located for us. We like the old city center and quickly found a great pastry shop near the St Mercy Church nearby for breakfast. The standard tourist areas are nearby like La Rambla, Cathedral, and the many shops in the Gothic Quarter. We also liked going over to El Born that was more local in flavor. We even walked to the Gaudi […] Basilica. Beyond that I recommend a taxi. The beach is a 20 min walk. The Hotel itself was quiet and a nice retreat from activities during the day. We didn't eat at the hotel - found it expensive but there is a nice view of the port from the 6th floor terrace. There is a small pool also on the 6th floor - about right for one family at a time. We loved our hotel so much that we canceled another hotel later in our trip to re-book the Duquesa de Cardona! The location is perfect, rooms were clean and quiet, the rooftop deck is beautiful although the service is slow, and we couldn't have been happier with the front desk staff. The hotel is smart and attractive from the road, and very conveniently located, in easy walking distance of the main attractions, but away from the busiest late night haunts. Checking in was efficient and friendly, and all the receptionists spoke good English. The room was well presented, with good views from the balcony over the harbour. The bed was very clean and comfortable, there was adequate storage, the safe and TV worked well, there were plenty of sockets for charging phones etc. Wifi was free and fast. The bathroom was clean and roomy. We reported that the basin pop-up waste tended to leak and they were pleased to be advised.
