All transportation is immediately accessible. Hotel is squeaky clean and very modern. The bathroom design is a little different, tad less private. Best pillows ever. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great 3-night stay.

great location - right on top of the train station and a stop on the hop on and hop off tour. Would recommend the room for a couple rather than just friends, since the bathroom is not separate from the rest of the room and does not afford much privacy.

The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. We checked in after departing our cruise ship for an overnight stay. The hotel was able to get us in our requested room by 10:00 am, well before normal check-in. The room was immacuate, had a great view and interesting decor.

Wonderful contemporary hotel (think "2001: A Space Odyssey") with easy access to all of Barcelona via trains, with the major station just downstairs. Hotel Barcelo-Sants is silly. It is space-themed. It is above a train station. With that being said, it was the first place we stayed on our Spanish honeymoon and we loved it! We obviously didn't do traditional lay-about-and-hug-each-other or whatever honeymoon, so we didn't live in our hotel room, but it was very nice. A real king size bed (not two […] pushed together!) was a big plus. They had a ton of toiletries-shampoo, soap, razor, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, q-tips, makeup sponges, shoe shine- that I really liked. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo Sants. We stayed here after a cruise and had stayed at another hotel before the cruise, and we much preferred this one. The main difference which made us enjoy this hotel more was the location. It was perfect for us. It is right over a large train station, which allows quick access to the subway […] as well as a direct train to the airport. Also both of the city bus tour companies have stops right outside the hotel, and we used this to our advantage well with a two day ticket on one of the tour lines. When leaving we used our T10 subway ticket to use the train to the airport which essentially cost us EUR 1.60. Just a tad bit cheaper than a EUR 30 taxi ride. It is also within walking distance of Placa Espanya, which has the really cool bullring turned into a mall, as well as other cool Barcelona sites. Not much further is the famous "Magic Fountain" in front of the MNAC art museum, which has great shows at night. The lobby and rooms have a very cool modern "space-age" design which my wife and I enjoyed. The room was clean and comfortable, and had a great lighting system which allowed turning everything on and off from the bed (though maybe that is fairly standard in European hotels.) We also had a great view from our floor 7 room, which allowed us to fully enjoy the fact that we were in Barcelona. Lastly the value was very good considering what we got. My only complaint is the entry into the hotel is a little strange. Read more

Very satisfied with the hotel: very helpful & accommodating staff, perfect location, the sound proof inside the hotel between the rooms could be better but outside noise was completely blocked. The Barcelo Sants is located right above a Metro (subway) and train station. AWESOME location as you can get anywhere in Barcelona by just going downstairs. Subway system is safe and easy to follow. Our room had a direct view of Sagrada Familia! It is a short walk to a huge, gorgeous mall and 12 cinema-plex. The staff is bilingual and will be able to […] help you in English if need be. They will call a cab for you and have it waiting for early flights. The "orbital" theme is silly but doesn't matter as long as the rooms are clean and it is in a good location. The rooms are very clean and kept up every day. The bed is firm but has a lot of pillows and the rooms have a large flat screen TV. The toiletries include the usuals but also toothpaste/toothbrush as well as razor/shaving cream every day! There is a park with fountains across the street that makes for a nice picnic and people watching. The restaurant has a relatively small menu but is good in a pinch. The buffet breakfast is adequate. It has a good variety of breads and pastries, breakfast meats, juices and some fruit. Read more

The reception area and the restaurants are traditionally decorated, but the hotel floors are decorated in a 2001-A Space Odessey fashion. Black floors, ceilings, and walls predominate, with white wall accents and lots of wood paneling (including laminate floors). Room 441 was well-kept during my stay. BEWARE: in the regular Orbit rooms, there is very […] little storage - OK for solo or 2 who travel light. BEWARE: The new trend I'm seeing in European hotels is that there is little privacy between the bath/toilet (shower/WC) and the rest of the room - often just a little partial partition. BEWARE: the in-room safe may not be fastened down - you can use the reception's safety deposit boxes at no charge. The black-out curtains worked 100%. The HD-type panel TV offered a treat - under options, you could often select the spoken language (Spanish, Catalan, or "V.O.", which meant original language - English most often. For my 4-day stay, I purchased a T10 public transport pass from the easy-to-use kiosk and used it on buses and metro lines - at 8.50 EUR for 10 trips, it was a heck of a deal. I also enjoyed the excellent CitySightseeing hopon-hopoff bus. The trip to Monserrat was a delight - check the websit for details on what's going on when you plan to be there. Read more

This hotel was extremely convenient, located right on top of the Sants Train Station. It was very quiet and the rooms were spacious and modern (Star Trek motif). The metro was right underneath at the station (buy a T-10, ten rides for 8.25 Euro) and it was only a few stops to the Gothic quarter. The sightseeing bus stops right in front of the hotel […] and there are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance if you don't want to eat at the hotel. The hotel is located on top of one of the Metro and train station intersections--Sants station in Barcelona, and thus I was a bit worried about station noise. Visiting Barcelona during the August holiday rendered some of the more obvious hotel choices closer to Plaza Catalunya too expensive for our budget, so I searched around and found the quirky Barceló Hotel Sants with its orbital themed rooms. We were a little hesitant about the location directly ABOVE the Sants Estacio train station, but this gem of […] a hotel really grew on us over the week. First of all, the location is magnificent...we landed at the airport, walked directly to the train, fare was cheap, and were walking into our hotel in under 30 minutes. We found the lobby is a bit subdued, and the front desk was SO helpful. We quickly had our room keys and the fun began as you step off the elevator into the set of Star Trek! The orbital theme was fun and well executed...who ever designed the rooms thought of everything. Beyond the space aged art, the walk-in shower was the best we'd had in 10 weeks of traveling the world, and the bed was extremely comfy with TONS of pillows. Eventually we realized that we preferred the ease of taking an elevator directly into the train station and being able to cheaply/easily get most touristy places in BCN without switching trains! An added bonus was some of the uncrowded side streets around the neighborhood around the train station, featuring lovely fruit stands and some mom & pop restaurants that were priced well below the more touristy areas near the beach. Finally, our favorite part was the fact that we could walk to/from Montjuic, with it's lovely green space and brilliant vantage points to take in the vibrant city of Barcelona. My wife craves wi-fi, and Barceló Hotel Sants was one of the few places we've stayed with consistent, free high speed internet. We enjoyed our stay. The room was wonderful; very modern and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable and the shower was large with a rain-like showerhead, directly overhead! The metro was so convenient because the metro and train station were right below the hotel so it was easy to get to any part of the city and only […] a 15 minute ride to the airport. The only complaint is that there was not a big selection of restaurants in our opinion close to the hotel. Otherwise, a great stay! fantastic out of center location! above the station - go outside towards taxi's, turn right, avoid the smokers, and in the first door, then go up! simple! even easier is the train from the airport (leaves from t2 but bus shuttle from t1 is quick and frequent - get on any train, all go to estacion sants) - 3 euro each way. orbital rooms are clean modern […] and functional, so is room service, everything you would need till i think 1am. early check in (11am!) was fantastic after overnight flight from nyc, but i cant gurantee they offer to everyone/all the time. plus a big plus for us. bar on 1st floor was only one open for us, but a bit $$$, but room rate was reasonable for such a convinient hotel. train, car rental, tourist bus and subway all inside/outside the hotel building so for us it was great... room service pizza, not american style but delicious.. would return to this hotel again when back in barca!
