Silken Ramblas

I found the Silken Ramblas to be in an absolutely marvelous location. It was a very short walk to the famous Las Ramblas area and not far from the modern art museum and even in walking distance to the Picasso Museum. My wife and I walked all over the area for five days without any need to rent a taxi to get where we wanted to go. We shopped, visited […] museums, walked through the gothic district, visited with friends, and generally has a wonderful time. PROS: The hotel was clean, modern and the staff were very friendly. CONS: The room was smaller than I would have liked, and the bar and dining room was small and understaffed. We had a great time. The greatest regret was the sauna closing at 9pm. We wanted to use it, but we were out enjoying the city during the day thru dinner and wanted to take a sauna in the evening when we got back to our room to ease our sore muscles. Read more

The Silken Ramblas is located in a gret location that is easy to get to from the airport and just 2 blocks from the Ramblas. We found the hotel staff to be very accomodating, the rooms were clean and modern. The pool on the top has great views and is perfect for cooling down after a day of sight seeing. To get to the hotel from the airport take the […] Aerobus (5,30 euros you pay on the bus, follow the rent a car signs to their location outside the terminal). Get off at the last stop Plaza Catalunya. Walk down the Ramblas about 3 or four blocks to Pintor Fortuny on the right. The small plaza between the hotel and the Ramblas has several good tapa bars. We really enjoyed Lobo Cafe. The only real negative about the hotel is that the rooms are not very sound proof. We could hear the toilet flush from rooms above and some noise from adjoining rooms. This hotel was in the perfect location.It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived early for check in but they allowed us to check in early. If I was pushed to complain it would be that the walls in the bedrooms are paper thin,we could hear everything going on in the rooms around and above us.

Fint lite å skrive, for alt med hotellet og Barcelona generellt var veldig bra. Hotellet var rolig, samtidig sentralt. Stilig og rent, med hyggelig og behjelpelig personale. Hvis man skulle lete etter noe negativt, så vil det eneste være at det var noe lytt mellom hotellrommene.

We have now visited several hotels in Barcelona. This one is one of the better. There is a clear class difference between this hotel and the ones above it and that is reflected in the age of the rooms, carpet, fittings and fixtures and pool on the roof. All of these items are now aging and within the next few years will need to be upgraded / replaced. […] However, as it stands now the hotel is nice and tidy, great location (next to La Rambla!) and reasonably priced. Wireless Internet is free but requires a complex username / password from reception for each item that will connect. :( Read more

Vi trivdes verkligen på hotellet, bra läge och ett extra plus för poolen på taket. Det enda negativa var att det var mycket lyhört det behöver man fixa till annars varv allt perfekt.

Det perfekte hotell for oss på bryllupsreise. Rent og moderne, og vennlig betjening. Det beste var takterrassen, med basseng og solstoler. Beliggenheten et steinkast fra Ramblas er helt ideell, uten støy fra gaten. Frokosten er dyr - kan med fordel ta den på en lokal cafe. Anbefales!

Flott hotell med gode store senger, basseng på taket. Men det var stengt på vinteren. Kort avstand til La Rambla street og fin gang avstand til både sjøen og øvre del av byen.

Eftersom det var våran första tripp till Barcelona så anser vi att läget på hotellet inte kunde bli så mycket bättre - nära till huvudgatan, gotiska kvarteren & en skön lite längre promenad till Barceloneta samt stranden. Jag kan varmt rekommendera detta hotell!

Hôtel idéalement situé, à 30 mètres de la Rambla, mais pas directement dessus, donc un peu plus au calme. Décor luxueux, accueil parfait (personnel parlant français si besoin). La piscine sur le toit est très propre et agréable (avec solarium). Des terrasses et des restaurants sont situés à deux pas de l'hôtel, et le métro est à 500 mètres. Les principaux […] sites touristiques de la ville sont à 2 stations maximum. Nous voyageons régulièrement et cet hôtel est dans notre top 5. Je n'ai pas de critiques particulières, si ce n'est l'épaisseur des cloisons (pas plus fines qu'ailleurs cependant), mais nous avions des voisins qui hurlaient la nuit en rentrant et une chambre avec porte communiquante ... Nous reprendrons sans hésitation une chambre dans cet hôtel quand nous retournerons à Barcelone. Read more

Vi hadde lest at det var lydt mellom rommene, men ble likevel overrasket over HVOR lydt det var... Kanskje vi var spesielt uheldige, da vi hadde rom med dør (låst) inn til et familierom, som gjorde at det hørtes ut som familien omtrent var inne på rommet vårt.. Litt slitt hotell, men ellers helt fint. Grunnen til at vi valgte hotellet var beliggenheten, […] krysse ramblaen i en fei, så er man i det koselige Barri Gothic, også nærme placa catalunya og shopping :) I tillegg brukte vi også bassenget på taket en del, lite område, men aldri helt fullt. Hotellet lå utrolig sentralt. Vi var veldig fornøyde med servicen. Hotellet har solstoler og et lite svømmebasseng på taket. Dette var av stor betydning for meg, siden vi reiste i juli mnd. Dette området var litt mindre enn det så ut som på bildene, men utolig nydelig i varmen. Litt lytt, men ingen støy fra gatene. I don't know from where to start: - Air conditioning is on or off, meaning it's freezing or hot. At first we thought it doesn't work, because you have to set the temperature to around 30 C degrees for the machine to start - The room was very untidy. Air ventilators hadn't been swiped for ages, there was a lot of dust on them - Insufficient lights. […] In the room we had 2 reading lights by the bed and one floor lamp. The room had a small window facing to a very small inner yard, so there was hardly any sunlight coming in. In the bathroom there were only lights in the ceiling, which were not sufficient for shaving or putting make up on - This hotel might have been given 4 stars in early 90s, but now it's aged. There is old tech in the room (like radio in the wall, which doesn't work), elevators are small and untidy, and so on - We were not the only unhappy guests. We talked with other customers who had similar experiences. One couple had a living bird in the airconditioner If this would be a 2 star hotel I wouldn't complain, but it is not worth 4 stars. We changed to another hotel 1 block north from Placa Catalunya, paid the same price per night as in this hotel, and got superior quality compared to this hotel. Read more

Til prisen er dette et rigtigt godt hotel med en perfekt beliggende for dem de vil opdage Barcelona til fods. Værelset fint, god aircon, behjælpeligt personale. Eneste lille minus var at det kunne være svært at finde ledige liggestole på tagterrassen v/poolen, da pladsen er en anelse trang deroppe.
