"Decent hotel"
The location of the hotel was so so. We had to walk about 15-20 minutes to get to The Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas. The hallway where my room was smelled like smoke. "Could be better"
My original room was very small, the bedside lamp was broken and water was leaking from the air-conditioner. The window looked out onto a brick wall and airshaft. "great location but hotel left much to be desired"
On the positive side, the hotel location was great, nearby a couple of metro stops as well as within a not-too-bad walking distance to a number of Barcelona sights, in a nice part of town. The linens were clean. The lobby area was swanky and stylish, very well maintained. On the negative side, our "standard" room was "garden" level with a view from […] the ceiling-placed window mostly of brick. The interior, though nicely furnished, had some dirty-looking painted brick walls. The other non-brick walls must have been very thin because we could hear a neighbor's conversation clearly. We also heard a neighbor's plumbing - faucets turning off and on, water running. A relatively small quibble, it took a while for the water in the shower to heat up. The hotel had a policy of an hour per day of wireless internet access, which seemed strange as the other hotels we stayed at (in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, comparable price range) had limitless access. How friendly and helpful the staff were was variable. Size-wise, the room was similar to other European hotels, and the bed was on the harder side but not very different from others we've experienced in European hotels. Overall, we were less than satisfied given the price of the hotel room and compared to another hotel we stayed at in the area in the same price range. It was a striking difference, and not favorable. Most of the hotel staff were very pleasant, but there were some very notable exceptions. The cleaning staff were great. The restaurant staff could have been a lot more attentive. La situation de l'hôtel est très intéressante , quartier très agréable, calme, nbreux restaurants, bar à tapas, hôtel tt près du passeig de gracia avec les plus belles devantures de Barcelone ( Hermès, Vuitton ect..). L'hôtel quant à lui est agréable, mais un gros problème d'isolation phonique est à souligner (bruits de chasse d'eau, bruit du couloir) […] Inconvénient que nous avions lu dans des commentaires sur cet hôtel et que malheureusement nous confirmons. Det store minus ved dette hotel er at personalet er direkte uhøfligt. Man får ikke engang et nik når man går gennem receptionen, og til den meget dyre morgenmad er personalt obs på at fylde op på buffetten, […] men kigger ikke på gæsterne, reagerer ikke på henvendelser.
