Hotel Condes de Barcelona is a 6-story property housed in 2 former manor houses, Casa J Dauradella and Casa E Batllo. They were renovated in 1997 to enhance their original 'moderniste' architecture, including a fairytale-like stone staircase with intricate arches and columns. The modern reception is painted in white with contemporary sofas in neutral tones, corridors are panelled in fine sycamore and public areas have marble floors.
The hotel's restaurants, Loidi and Lasarte, serve Mediterranean dishes, specializing in seafood, with quality ingredients carefully chosen by chef Martin Berasategui. Café Condal is a piano bar with forest green armchairs, stools, scented candles, and panelled walls. A live pianist entertains every evening, and cocktails can be enjoyed on the roof terrace.

Loidi and Lasarte - These restaurants have an excellent reputation and can also be accessed directly from the street, serving buffet breakfast for guests and an à la carte menu for lunch and dinner. The cuisine is Mediterranean with an emphasis on seafood, although the signature dish is the Dice Foie caramelized with Green Apple. The decor continues the sea motif with blue walls and seascape murals. The floor is Brazilian macalauga marble, characterized by its watery blue shades. They are directed by famous chef Martin Berasategui.
Condal Bar - The hotel's piano bar has forest green armchairs, little green stools, scented candles and paneled walls. The bar is open all day and features a live pianist every evening.

The Hotel is in a great location with great prices and i have stayed here over dozen times the past 4 years. Unless you are in the modern section across the St. the main rooms are a bit worn and need updating. The safe is not even large enough to fit 2 ipads. An internet connection fee for each device, PLEASE that is absurd, it is 2013 and we all have […] multiple devices. "Decent Location & Rate, Perfunctory Service"
We stayed at the Arosa both at the beginning of our trip while visiting Madrid and on our return to Madrid prior to a morning flight home. Our first room was fine, smallish but comfortable enough. Our return stay featured a Japanese style bed about 6" off the floor w/ a VERY hard mattress. Breakfast was included in our rate & was varied and pretty good. […] There's complimentary Cava from 6-8 each evening - also nice. Two computers provided for guest use compete w/ printer - Very nice. Main complaint, front desk personal were perfunctory - not helpful, bordering on unfriendly, often seeming annoyed to be asked for assistance. Very noisy location on corner of street. Felt and heard rumble of underground train constantly and loud city noises - police sirens, honks, people at night til 2am plus on street. We had left one morning at 9 am and put out the sign to have the room cleaned. Returned 2:30 pm, still not clean. Cleaner later after 6 pm. Broken computer in "library center." "Great location but basic for a 4star hotel"
Great location.. Very central, and lots of nice restaurants near by! I would say that the hotel looks a lot nicer on the Internet than in real life! The reception area is nice and modern.. But when you get upstairs it's a little shabby.. The roof terrace is nice but again lacks a bit of tlc... The rooms are nice.. Not very luxurious but perfect for […] a city break! The cleaners were poor though.. Leaving towels on the floor, not replacing shower gels etc which I don't expect in a 4 star hotel! "Good hotel, cold shower"
We had three very nice nights at this hotel while staying in Barcelona. Safe neighborhood and easy to walk to numerous sites and close to the train/subway. On our last morning, we had no hot water. We called the front desk, and were told to wait a few minutes. We did so and after 30+ minutes or testing the water on and off, took cold showers. We noted […] this to the front desk upon checkout and we were told that they knew it was a problem with a few rooms around the one we were in and they were working on the issue. No apology, no phonecall while we were in the room offering to let us use another room for a shower, nothing, just a shrug of shoulders. Good experience until this point. This hotel is right in the heart of Barcelona walking distance to La Rambla and the old city. Excellent location. The hotel itself is okay. We found the room to be a good size, but the condition of the bathroom was not that great. We were told that the TV would have 30 channels (which is important as my husband does not sleep much and needs his TV), […] but there were only 10 channels and only one was in English (a news channel). When we mentioned it to the front desk and asked if someone could fix it, or look at the TV, , we were met with an uninterested response to our complaint and it was never fixed. There is no ice machine on the floor (I think they want customers to get their drinks at their bar instead so no ice available for the rooms). Little details like this made our stay not so accommodating. Front Desk service really depended on who was working at the time. We found most people friendly but a few were not very helpful. "Fare room for the price"
It is located in center of the city so you can enjoy sightseeing by walk or metro. However, it was not the five star level in the point of staff and room luxurious. カサミラが見える部屋を予約したはずが、裏庭？の部屋に。チェックイン時にも確認したはずが…結局、部屋を変えて頂いた。WiFiもつながらなかった。フロントスタッフに尋ねても分らないから、他の人に聞いてくれと言われ、ホテルの有料パソコンを使えと言われる始末、ホテルのパソコンも古すぎて、遅く、FLASH,HTML,PDFなど読み取れない…本当に最悪でしたが、ホテルの立地、部屋の快適さは良いと思います。Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"地下鉄駅に近い"
新市街にあり、地下鉄駅から近いので便利でした。 部屋は窓側ではなく、内側の部屋でしたのでカーテンを開けると、吹き抜けのロビーやエレベーターが見えてしまい、開ける事は出来ませんでした。 ネットは無料でしたが、電源を接続する余分なコンセントが無く、テーブルの電灯のプラグを外して、テーブルを手間ににずらして差込みました。あまりその辺の事を考えていない作りです。 近くには、ガウディのカサ・ミラやカサ・パトリョもあり観光するのには便利な位置です。Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Sehr gute, zentrale Lage. Speziell das Badezimmer wirkte sehr ungepflegt. Es wurde aber auf dem Kulanzweg ein Ersatzzimmer in frischem Renovierungszustand mit einem Badezimmer gestellt, das den erwartungen an Sauberkeit und Hygiene eher entsprach. Das Ersatzzimmer ehörte in eine höherwertige Kategorie, der Aufpreis wurde aber nicht berechnet.
