Hotel Condes de Barcelona is a 6-story property housed in 2 former manor houses, Casa J Dauradella and Casa E Batllo. They were renovated in 1997 to enhance their original 'moderniste' architecture, including a fairytale-like stone staircase with intricate arches and columns. The modern reception is painted in white with contemporary sofas in neutral tones, corridors are panelled in fine sycamore and public areas have marble floors.
The hotel's restaurants, Loidi and Lasarte, serve Mediterranean dishes, specializing in seafood, with quality ingredients carefully chosen by chef Martin Berasategui. Café Condal is a piano bar with forest green armchairs, stools, scented candles, and panelled walls. A live pianist entertains every evening, and cocktails can be enjoyed on the roof terrace.
The hotel has a meeting room. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas, 24-hour fitness facilities are available free of charge while babysitting/child care, valet parking, and an airport shuttle are available for a fee.

The Eixample suburb was created 1860–1920 and consequently holds the city’s finest Modernist buildings. The Passeig de Gràcia is the main artery, its wide pavements lined with designer shops and chic cafes. It is also home to Gaudí’s two fairy-tale masterpieces, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, plus many other architectural gems. The undoubted star of the Eixample is La Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s fabulous unfinished emblematic church.

"SMELLS LIKE DEAD FISH"
The first room smelled like dead fish. The second room had non-working airconditoning. The third room was OK. This four star hotel was not up to two star quality. The description of services provide by Hotels.com was not accurate. DO NOT SAY HERE!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a three star hotel...at all! And, not one that has folks who are fluent in English!"
The reviews are right on. This is not a four star hotel. First, they try to place you in a dumpy room...in the "old section"...even if you have paid for an upgrade. Took us three tries until we got a decent room. Of course, we overlooked a side street and heard the street noise the entire evening! They don't clean the rooms...merely make the bed and […] fold the towels...so, if you spill something, you are on your own. The staff does not speak English...so, please, do not even try asking for directions. Beware, if you ask where the stop is located...they will tell you...but, make sure you get on the bus going in the right direction. And, if you want free wi-fi? You need to book directly through the hotel or kiss tha t good-bye. The location is good. The room is decent. But, if you are looking for more than that...you need to look elsewhere! "Overpriced, old, dirty and noisy"
We booked this room based on customers' overall rating, the hotel's 4-star rating and its central location. We were quite disappointed with our overall experience. We had a room in the new part of the hotel - across the street from the old part. The room was too basic for a four-star hotel, the furniture old and falling apart, the bathroom's mosaics […] were also falling off. If you put the heating on (we were there in November), a strange smell of something rotten would fill the room. So we had to choose between being cold and being gassed. The bare wooden floors were quite dirty as well. The worst part for us (as we were quite tired from travelling) was that the noise insulation in this hotel was close to non-existent. Every time anyone closed a door on our floor, it would slam (poor closing mechanisms) and we would jump in our beds. This went on all day and all night long, so it was nearly impossible to get some much needed rest. The location is very central, but that's about it. "Estado general de las habitaciones malo"
La estancia en las habitaciones del hotel, fue mala. No es normal que un hotel de 4 estrellas en el centro de una ciudad como Barcelona y al precio que tiene la habitación.
