We had an exceptionally nice time at the Marriott this weekend. I decided that instead of a party at home, we would crank it up a notch and have a surprise hotel sleepover (as in Eloise style). We asked for adjoining double rooms for constant supervision of girls attending throughout the evening. At check in, two double adjoining rooms were not available, […] but staff immediately offered a roll-away bed. As we had a party of many 9 year old girls, and it seems that we were very wisely placed in an area of the hotel that was separated from other guests so as not to disturb. We were able to make use of the pool for exciting "night swimming" and had pizza delivered to the hotel. For extra security precautions, a hotel staff member even escorted the Pizza delivery guy upstairs to our room. The next morning, as one would expect from the morning after the sleepover, we had extra coffee delivered to the room free of charge for the 3 adult chaperones, and extra towels so the girls could shower. The hotel staff and reception were incomparably amiable and helpful and we had a fabulous time!!! We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel experience! Read more

The only part of the hotel I didn't like was finding it. The directions were harder than I had thought. But the hotel was wonderful. We stayed only one night here. We had a long drive from Las Terrenas and it was great to arrive in the air conditioned, clean and comfortable rooms. Check in was easy and fast, and it was wonderful that all of the staff spoke English (since my Spanish skills are sadly so pathetic). It was also wonderful to be a able to do a load of laundry (just bring […] your own soap) and also spend some time on the treadmill in the exercise room. The only thing that would have been better if it was in walking distance to the Colonial Zone - but that's minor, and we took a taxi (about 5-10 min drive) to be able to see the historical sites. There is also a lot of fast food places near by if you want to save a little money on food. Pool is small, but clean and nice I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend. thanks Marriott. Check in is normally at 3pm. Since I had an early flight, I arrived at the hotel at 12:30 Pm, thinking that I was gonna have to sit in the lobby with my luggage until 3PM...but, to my surprise, the receptionist told me that my room is ready. This hotel was great but wish it was a more recognizable location and had some pamphlets or info of things to do nearby. You'll probably need a personal driver and car or just pay a lot to taxi drivers to take you everywhere. The hotel was clean with a nice pool area and a clean good working gym. I was so impressed with the staff and service at this hotel. The location is fantastic, not far to the boardwalk and airport, the American Embassy is close by as well as the Colonial Zone. Stayed 10 days with spouse. Room was excellent; spacious, quiet, well maintained, conservatively decorated but well appointed with spiffy (free) Wi-Fi. While folks have complained about road noise, we enjoyed a calm, soothing environ. True, the hotel is situated on one of the busiest streets in the city, the trick to avoid the car-honking, et al is […] to pay the extra and select what is termed a 'City View' room and this is how you do it: As you enter the main gate you'll see a property demarcation wall ahead. Actually, the property (and rooms) extends beyond this wall. That is where the quiet rooms are located on the 5th floor - BEYOND that wall. Enough said. Airport to hotel is a standard $40 USD cab charge, negotiable down to $35 USD. Distance to colonial zone is estimated at 2 miles and can be walked. Go downhill a couple of blocks and take street across from McDonalds - straight into the Zone. George Washington Street is approx. one mile (straight, downhill out of Marriott gate - right) and is a pleasant walk along the Caribean Sea. Take a left on GW St. to go past Casinos and Night Clubs. L´Hotel était très propre, calme, le service excellent, la nourriture correcte. Le wifi marche correctement et l´ établissement dispose de tout ce qu´il faut pour travailler (imprimantes, ordinateurs) si besoin.
