Wakeup Copenhagen is a cool, modern, inexpensive hotel. Stylish and functional designed by Kim Utzon. Architecturally splendid, its many exceptional features make this new hotel a unique spot, comparing well with many of the city’s 3-star and 4-star establishments, although coming in pricewise at the 2-star bracket.
Rooms
Measuring 12-15 m2 in area all guest rooms at Wakeup Copenhagen are comfortable and modern, en-suite with hairdrier, air conditioned and come with multi-channel, flat screen TV, a good-sized desk and a free wireless Internet connection as standard. Bed size 160 cm.
It is a non-smoking hotel. Rooms furnished using allergy resistant materials are available.

The Tivoli Gardens amusement park, founded in 1843, makes this area the liveliest in the city. The park boasts one of the oldest wooden roller coasters still in operation, and the world's tallest carousel. The Pantomime Theatre dates back to 1874. Other attractions include the Hans Christian Anderson Castle, the Glass House, and the Concert Hall with its aquarium lounge. Outdoor concerts take place here in summer.

The location is rather out of the way in an industrial area. It is fairly close to the train station but far from everything else. We arrived quite early before check-in time but the hotel does not have a luggage room like most; there is a luggage locker room which you must pay to store your luggage. "Wake Up Copenhagen bad experience"
Positives: Clean, comparatively inexpensive, free wi-fi, 15 minutes walk to station/Tivoli. Negatives: Small room, had to crawl across the bed to get to the window. No cupboard, shelves or closet, just 4 hangers on a bar on the wall. Bathroom is a frosted glass partition in the room, put the light on in there at night and light up the whole bedroom. […] Glass leaves nothing to the imagination, need to slide open the shower in order to bend down and pick up the soap. No telephone. Room air-conditioning does not work, 85 degrees F and they provide 2 comforters/duvees, no sheets! Sunrise is 4:30 am in May and the plastic sheet/curtain does not exclude any light. Was pretty small, but was a practical and workable space. It is convenient to Central Station and Tivoli, but rather far from other happening parts of Copenhagen. "Hot, noisy, tough stay"
During an apparent heat wave, Wake Up Copenhagen was upgrading their air conditioning system and AC blew room temp air at low speed the whole 2 nights/3 days we were there. No fans were available. They placed us on the top floor (where it's hottest) with our only window to the sun. What's more, the window did open a little but onto a train yard, with […] screetching all day and night, making a good night's sleep impossible. This is in addition to being asked to pay 200 DKK to park in the construction zone because they don't have (or didn't have access to, due to construction) onsight parking. All in all, not a great stay. If they would have put us lower, offered some sort of fan (or put off the AC upgrade to cooler, less-than-85F hot days) the hotel stay would have been much better. Location was great for Tivoli, the train and getting around downtown. Management really should have thought out guest placement a bit better with all the circumstances. We stayed here for 4 days before a Baltic Cruise and 1 day after the cruise. Location and price were both good - especially if you are walkers. We took the train from the airport and were able to pull our small rolling suitcases to the hotel. The bathrooms are very compact and ultra modern - very efficient. Very inexpensive. Luggage lockers available. Great Location, free(outside) or paid parking available. Free internet. 42inch flat screen HDTV with about 40 channels. 5 minute walk to Train Station, 7 minutes to Tivoli Gardens. 10-15 minute walk to Christianborg Palace. But... Very small room. No closet or place to set your suitcase. Very thin walls. […] Noise from train station if you are on that side. We took a taxi from our cruise ship. We had to be off by 9am. At 930, we stored our belongings in several luggage lockers for 20DEK each, and set off to explore. After wandering around town and Tivoli Gardens, we came back, checked in, and then headed back out. We stayed at the Wake up as part of a tour of Europe for two nights. The Hotel itself was clean, modern, full of style , and the staff friendly and courteous, but the location was poor. Yes, it was relatively close to the central station, and the new shopping centre, but it's obviously in a part of the city that is being developed , and in the future […] may be vibrant. However it was some distance from the city centre, and down a very dark and industrial road. This hotel is more suited to the buisness traveller than the lesiure traveller.
