Squeezed onto an elongated island between the Danube Canal and the main river channel, Leopoldstadt was the centre of Vienna’s Jewish community from the early 17th century until the Holocaust. The Strauss, Freud, and Mahler families all had homes here at various times. Most visitors flock to the Prater funfair, which has a Riesenrad (large ferris wheel).

Perfect, not sure what someone would want more. Besides the fact that the minifridge was empty (nothing that a quick trip down to the reception cannot fix), everything is perfect about this place. "hot week without AC"
I thought that the Capri was a really nice hotel, everything was very clean, quite modern and right next to the subway system. The only problem was that there is no air conditioning, and the week that I was there was a heat wave in Vienna 35C+. So while the bed and surrounding were quite comfortable, I was not due to the heat. The week before was much […] cooler, and probably the week after was as well. "Wonderful (but hot)"
As noted above - the rooms are not air conditioned, and the windows barely open, which made it extremely HOT during my mid-July visit. I asked for a room fan, and although they did not have one available right away, they put one in my room on my 2nd or 3rd day there. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay. "Hotel Capri - great location, comfort, price"
Hotel Capri is one U-Bahn stop from Schwedenplatz, a major U-Bahn and Strassenbahn hub, and just two stops from Stephansplatz, the center of the Innere Stadt. There is an elevator right across the street from the hotel down to the station -- it couldn't be easier! It was so simple to get back that I took some breaks from sight-seeing (and spending money) […] to have a quiet cup of tea in my room before heading out again. Being closer to the main city would have been risking late night noise -- the quiet neighborhood of Hotel Capri was a nice escape. Walking just ten minutes away from downtown takes you to the Prater (amusement park) with the ferris wheel famous for being in the movie "The Third Man," and a different side of Vienna. What you see with the Capri is what you get. I was back after a two-year gap, choosing the hotel for its smoke-free rooms, convenience... and U-bahn station (Nestroyplatz) outside the door. Hotellet var ganske fint beliggende, kun 100 m fra nærmeste U-bahn station (Nestroyplatz). Herfra var det nemt at komme rundt i byen. Morgenmadsbuffeten på hotellet var okay.
