Great place. Wonderful staff. Clean. Room 103 had some noise carry from people talking in the lobby, but not a big deal (but that is why I rate comfort as 3). The surrounding hood isn't great, but you are at Wesbahnof. The subway in Wien is awesome, fast, on time. You can go to all of the tourist sites extremely easily. Plus, you're closer to some non-tourist […] "local" cafes when you stay near Westbahnof. I wish I can recommend this hotel because the location (close to the train station) and front desk was quite good. However, there are quite a few things the hotel needs to improve upon. Very convenient location at the Mariahilf "shopping" street in Vienna. Relatively close to the West Banhof train station in you which you can take the Vienna metro or the Eurorail train. There are several places you can obtain basic groceries or shop for clothes in this street. In Vienna there are many sandwitch shops (the bread is great in Austria) […] where you can get quick but not junk food. You can find alos super-markets to get milk which does not need preservation, fruits bread, sandwitches so that you can keep a healthier diet. Given the price and location, tourotel Mariahilf is a very good value. My only caveat is free wifi in the lobby only, not in room, but it's a minor quibble. Everything was very clean, the location is great (get a transit pass, the whole city is wide-open to explore) and we didn't want to leave.

Great value for money. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and paid for 2 nights. The place is near the train station.(westbahnhof). You can access to the hotel within 5 minutes by walk after the underground. Not so far to the city center. Great staff. They knew everything and were very helpful. The room was really comfortable.

this is a budget choice. the over all is OK. bath is a little old and not updated BUT usable and fair. the room size is big. enough for a family of 4. the Subway is about 7 minutes walking in a nice street but if you dont want to walk, there is a light rail just accross the street that will take you to the west station (Subway).

Tourotel was wonderful! Centrally located, a 7 minute walk from the Westbanhof metro and train station, and in a lovely area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and ours had a balcony. All in all, this hotel is a great bet!

Nice place, good location. No breakfast in the hotel. Using the room key to turn on the power is annoying. Can't charge anything while out of the room, or leave while your spouse is in the tub, without leaving them in the dark. Hotel staff assumed I knew about the key/ lights and the breakfast situation.

We stayed in four hotels while we vacationed in Vienna and the Bavarian region, and this hotel was definitely the most disappointing. They placed us in a room that neighbored another room being renovated. The sanding and pounding started at a reasonable time, but it lasted until late in the afternoon(tough on the siesta time). The shower doors had a […] large crack and would leak so much water...we used all of our towels to clean it up. Did I mention these cracked doors also had mildew?? It is my husband's and my hope, the room we stayed in, was next up for renovation. We also had some issues with the staff. The room was very hot, so I wanted just a top sheet instead of a comforter. Hotel was nice for a march visit. They don't have an a/c unit so if you go during hot season, be warned. Since we went just at the beginning of spring, having the windows open was good enough - no a/c needed. One problem I had was when you went to sleep, you can hear the electricity from the wiring within your room. You need to take the key card out […] and sleep with no electricity which can be a pain because you can't charge your camera/iPad and such. If you leave the card in for electricity, forget it, the annoying sound will drive you up the wall. The beds although was comfortable and the rooms are spacious for Europe and USA standards. The location is awesome. The train station is about 4 blocks and the. Its a 5 minute ride by subway to the center! All in all I would stay again but only in winter,fall and spring. Read more

Mariahilfe Strasse has great shopping ... it is a bit of a walk downtown but on our first day we just walked down Mariahilfe Strasse browsing in stores all the way to the Albertina Museum. This is the right place to stay. The hotel is located a five minute walk from a main transportation hub. Westbanhoff. You take the S7 train from the airport for 3.60 euros to the U3 subway line headed toward Ottakring. Get off at Westbanhoff. Take a right down Mariahilfer Strasse. No worries. There is internet service in the lobby if you don't have a laptop. The room was clean, pleasant, and modern. I was almost never in the room as I was sightseeing but the place was nice. Mariahilfe Strasse is a main shopping street and you can find almost any kind of store along it. This hotel is halfway between the Hofburg and its museums and Schonbrunn Palace. Both are worth seeing. I never ate the breakfast at the hotel. They have a breakfast bar. I should really stress here that the hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. After nine hours of flying and an hour in from the airport it made all the difference in the world to me to have a good reception at this hotel, and I did. Nice lobby too. There was no tub. I didn't care but some people might. The room looked out on an inner court that was lovely. This is a good choice if you are a traveler looking for a good solid hotel. We stayed here our last night in Vienna. It was rated as 4 star, but definitely didn't seem to be that level. Room was clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Neighborhood seemed a little sketchy, but it was close to West Bahnhof, and easy to find. Room was clean, roomy, and bathroom clean. We booked our room for $85 and right after the price went down […] to $64! I'd say for $64 I would have loved the hotel even more. There was supposedly only 30 mins of internet access, but we got the code and were able to use wireless in our room, and there was no limit. So I'd suggest checking on that. Time limit may be just for use of the hotel lobby computer? For the same price I'd stay at Das President (free internet, minibar - which can be used as an in-room fridge, smaller rooms, but just as clean and comfy). Read more

We were doing sites primarily in the city centre and did find this location inconvenient. You can walk to the Metro about 4 blocks or take a tram and transfer. There are a few restaurants in the neighborhood, but that was a little shaky too. We kept receiving inaccurate information from one of the desk clerks. The only minor criticism that I have is that their key card system is very intimidating. You have to press the door button, swipe the card, and turn the knob in the direction of the door handle.
