Schwabing is Munich's social and nightlife hub. Much of the activity takes place day and night on Leopold Strasse, which has the huge Siegestor. Nightclubs are crammed around Wedekindplatz. There are two Rilano 24/7 Hotels in Munich. Needless to say, this was not the one I intended to stay in. Too far from actual center of Munich. Also, there is no WiFi in the rooms, just in the lobby. That was quite inconvenient. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor location, rude staff"
The only reason we stayed here is because it was near the Kesselhaus where we were seeing a concert. Otherwise, there is not much in the area. The staff was rude. When the light in our bathroom didn't work, we asked to have our breakfast comped, because we didn't feel like switching rooms at 1AM. The receptionist chided us for not opting to switch rooms, […] because the 30+ euros it would cost for two breakfasts was "quite expensive." He ended up giving it to us, but I was really taken aback by this lack of customer service. He actually said, "Next time, please switch rooms," to which I said, "Next time, make sure the lights work in my room." Breakfast was excellent, though, but you will pay for it. The room was extremely small and I couldn't open up my suits case. View from the window is nothing special, just a road and some buildings. This hotel is located in the business and industrial area, so tourist will find it hard to access to the city centre. "Bad quality Hotel in the old part."
The hotel has 2 parts, the old one and the new one. For the price you pay, you can get sth similar in the city centre, and you don't need to travel by U-Bahn 10 min and another 10 on foot. "What you see is not necessarily what you get"
The reception area and bar of the hotel were beautiful. Photos shown of the hotel bedroom are not in any way representative of the bedroom I stayed in, which was basic (but clean) to say the least. Air-conditioning wasn't working. I didn't expect to pay for parking in the hotel's private car park but was charged 12 euro for 12 hours. "Würden nicht wieder hinfahren"
Hotel macht nur in der Lobby guten Eindruck. Aussage auf der homepage, dass Hotel in 2010 renoviert wurde, konnten wir nicht nachvollziehen. 3 Sterne haben wir vergeblich gesucht. Hotel liegt in Bürostadt in Nord-Schwabing. Um Hotel herum gibt es wenige Geschäfte. Zur U-Bahn läuft man 10 Min., dann innerhalb von 10 Min. zum Marienplatz. Vor Hotel fährt […] Bus, der als Zubringer genutzt werden könnte. Wir hatten DZ gebucht. Im Zimmer stand noch ein 3. Bett, welches ein fahrbares Klappbett war und den ohnehin kaum vorhandenen Platz noch weiter einschränkte. In die eine Seite des Doppelbettes konnte man nur über das Fußende einsteigen. An das Fenster kam man nur, wenn man auf das 3. Bett kletterte. Wir haben sofort nach dem Einchecken an der Rezeption darum gebeten, das Bett abzubauen. Bis zu unserer Abreise nach 2 Tagen ist nichts passiert. Am Tag des Auscheckens (Sonntag, Auschecken bis 12 Uhr möglich) hatten wir das "Do not disturb"-Schild an der Tür. Dennoch wurden wir um 9 Uhr geweckt als es an unserer Tür klopfte und mit den Worten "House keeping" unsere Zimmertür geöffnet wurde. Kein Wort der Entschuldigung. Auf unsere Proteste hin wurde die Tür einfach wieder zugezogen. Der kaputte Fön wurde dadurch korrigiert, dass wir eine Karte für ein nicht bewohntes Zimmer erhielten und die Haare in einem anderen Hotelzimmer fönen mussten. Das Hotel sieht auf den Fotos und im Eingangsbereich sehr modern aus, allerdings sind die Zimmer wohl noch nicht alle renoviert. Außerdem wurden wir zuerst in einem Raucherzimmer untergebracht, obwohl wir Nichtraucher angegeben hatten. Leider wurde das Zimmer auch nach dem Wechsel nicht schöner. "Schöner Schein"
Die Lobby und Reception täuscht gewaltig. Es entsteht der Eindruck, dass man in einem abosluten Spitzenhotel gelandet ist. Grosse Enttäuschung. Offenbar muss man Gast im Golden Tulip sein. Im "normalen" Teil sind die Zimmer so klein, dass man sich kaum umdrehen kann. Extrem wenig Stauraum für Kleider vorhanden. Trotz sehr kleinem Platzangebot steht […] ein alter Röhrenbildschirm im Zimmer, der natürlich viel mehr Platz beansprucht als ein neues Gerät.
